Resident from Nov. 2009 current : July 2011\r\n\r\nAs a current resident, the place looks nice, but unlike our other apartments in south Florida it can leave a lot to be desired.\r\n\r\n1. You are not allowed to have your own gas grill. It's allegedly a local fire restriction. I lived in Florida at my last apartment and had no such restrictions. They claim to have gas grills available outside the buildings here, but they are extremely, extremely cheap. The condition of the one outside my building is poor. The grates are rusted so I use the grill by supplying my own portable grate. The bottom of the grill itself has rusted to the point that it actually fell out. The valves have no affect on the flame intensity, so everything has to cook on high. That is of course when the grill is working at all. Which for almost the entire first year it was not. I know for a fact that it is not just this grill since my brother lived in another building and he had similar problems with the one near his building. I guess you re supposed to be thankful that there is a structure posing as a grill there at all. I m sure these cheap grills keep Barnett, from maintenance, busy wasting his time trying to keep them usable. \r\n\r\n2. The building construction is not as sturdy as we have experienced in south Florida where much of the buildings use cinder block, where as this apartment building s primary frame construction is that of wood. This has a tendency to cause lower frequencies to resonate throughout the building. Most of the tenants above us have had the courtesy to step easily enough so that these noises have been kept to a minimum. There is the exception of those who have had small children, but the children do not necessarily know any better, so you contend with it. However, the older adults living above us now create so much noise that it sounds like they are having Greco-Roman wrestling matches in the apartment above use. It occurs so often throughout the day and evening, everyday and to the point that sometimes the entire building reverberates from the resonance of whatever they are doing up there. If you are looking for a building where you can have some quiet, this is not the place. Be ready to tolerate the lack of sound proofing between walls and ceiling. I should also mention the fact that there is the Five Flags Speedway where there are racing events. You can clearly hear the droning of the engines from here when there is an event.\r\n\r\n3. The driving space through the complex is narrow and the parking spots tend to be cramped and short. The spaces are small enough that those with trucks on the larger side they can tend to hang out into the drive way. There are a number of garages available but many of them have no space in front of them so that their entrances are flush to the drive way. For many tenants on the east side of the complex there is insufficient parking spaces forcing a large, number of tenants to have to park their cars along one side of the drive way. There is also a constant traffic of people jogging around the apartment complex throughout the day and for some reason they do so right down the middle of the drive way instead of using the side walks. It is an accident just waiting to happen considering the tight parking spaces and narrow drive way contribute to poor visibility when trying to see what or who is coming if you are backing out of a spot. I almost had an incident myself once trying to back out of my garage when one of these people ran right in front of my garage while I was backing out.\r\n\r\nThere is more, but this review site has limited capabilities in regard word limitations and the ability to provide a link to another source from which to supply the entire review.\r\n\r\nCheck ""Apartment Ratings"" website for a complete review.
