My family likes this restaurant when we visit the beach. We ordered the fish and chips and we could have split one between the two of us. It was delicious. Of course, our daughter ordered the mac n' cheese and it was gone in 60 seconds.
4This is our favorite family dining in Cannon Beach. There can be a wait at peak times so we try to go early. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy and lots of polished wood, and nice lighting. My husband and I always split the Rotisserie chicken and bacon salad and believe me, we get plenty! We fight with our children for bites of the incredible pan cornbread. My kids enjoy chicken strips or individual pizzas. Their onion rings are to die for also. We are always too full when it comes time to dessert so I can't report on that. The price is reasonable, service prompt, food delicious and we are very satisfied customers who try to go back every time we're in Cannon Beach.

We initially decided to try The Lumberyard Rotisserie & Grill for the first time. At first glance, the menu, full bar and family-friendly atmosphere seemed like a no-brainer. We were seated by the hostess relatively quickly and given waters with our menu. We then waited 10 minutes for a server, and nobody stopped by, not even to let us know they'd be with us shortly. The place was maybe 30% full, as it was early and off-season, and the staff was plentiful. That didn't seem to deter them from ignoring us, so we got up and left.

The turkey salad from the Lumberyard will make you completely re-think this often dull sandwich. They perfectly balance sweet and savory with just the right dash of red onion. (Sadly, it's no longer on their meny) Their BBQ pork sandwich is in no way "authentic" but it's very tasty. I've also recently enjoyed their chili-- best in the form of chili fries.
Strangely, some of their "signature" rotisserie items tend towards dryness. Also, all the attractive wood inside can create a very loud, echoing environment. This can be helpful if the little ones are in a fussy mood, but can be distracting if some ambiance was desired.
Whatever you do, save room for a pan of the skillet cornbread. It makes a great dessert.
PROS: Fantastic food, kid-friendly
CONS: Rotisserie items can be dry, sometimes loud inside
