Dr. Stein has been my primary care doctor for 5 yrs. My previous doctor, who was retiring, recommended her to me. I have always been able to schedule an appointment easily, and on short notice when necessary. She listens, makes excellent recommendations and referrals when needed, and has never steered me wrong.

Dr. Stein was my doctor until I changed jobs and it was inconvenient for me to get there. When my mom moved to Chicago, she needed a doctor in that area, so she went to Dr. Stein. Dr. Stein is very smart and knowledgeable, is a very kind person, and is patient beyond measure. I cannot speak more highly of her. She did a great job for me -- a healthy younger woman at the time -- but I think she did an even better job for my mom -- a senior woman with a lot of issues.

Rhonda was my elderly mother's physician for three years following my mother's debilitating stroke, which left her paralyzed and without speech. We made a difficult decision to care for my mother in our home, setting up a MASH unit right in our house and caring for her with loving hands. Without Dr. Stein, this never would have been possible. She was available to us at any time and worked closely with our home health nurse, who could reach her easily. When my mother was hospitalized several times, Dr. Stein was attentive and helpful. I would point out that she is an outstanding diagnostician and significantly changed my mother's meds when my mother arrived here from Virginia. These changes were all for the better and my mother lived a comfortable three years after a stroke that was predicted to kill her. She liked Dr. Stein very much. After that experience, Dr. Stein became my husband's physician...he is in his early 70's. She has been great with his care too, as has one of her partners. Net: they are the wave of the future with their geriatric care future. Come to know her and her partners....you or your parents will need them!!

I knew Dr. Stein back when she was simply "Rhonda" and we were both students at Northwestern. I remember her as an idealistic pre-med who was motivated by a desire to help people. Decades later, I have re-connected with her because she is now my mother's doctor. I am happy to report that Rhonda has remained true to her idealism and has become a very caring, thoughtful, and competent physician. She takes her time, listens, asks questions, and generally appears concerned. My mother loves her and I am grateful that she is under the care of such a good doctor.

My internist of many years recommended Dr. Stein to me when he retired from practice and I couldn't be happier. She's genuinely interested in what you're saying and how it relates to your overall health picture. She makes suggestions, follows up, and is just a GREAT doctor. Unlike the other posts on this page, I never noticed that she was any later than other doctors. But if that's indeed the case, I concur it's because she takes the time to listen and interact with each and every patient.

I first went to Dr. Stein on a recommendation from a co-worker when I first moved to the area. I found Dr. Stein to be a great internal medicine doctor who took the time to listen, ask questions that few other doctors take the time for anymore, and has good hours (works late some nights). My one negative thing to say is that she runs LATE ? probably because she actually TALKS to her patients. So I suggest making one of her first appointments of the day so she?s more on time. But even with the running late I continue to see her because she is one of the few doctors still around who really tries to make you an educated participant in your care which is what I think all doctors should strive to do.

PROS: takes her time with you and really listens
CONS: runs late frequently

At last a physician who's office gives you a person to talk to instead of a ridiculous voice response system. They are friendly and respond to your needs. Dr. Stein is extremely competent and takes the time to listen and guide.
