There wasn't any music here that I couldn't find. The atmosphere was so "chill" here. You can buy slightly used music for such great prices! I also love the huge size of the place it's really great.
5A fun place to browse if you dig being around the sights and sounds of music and the Hollywood scene. But go during the week and before noon if possible to have first crack at collectible albums and CDs, though they do put some stuff out during the day. Every morning they make sure the bins are neat and fully stocked. Friday night and Saturday afternoon the store is usually crowded and picked over. The stage is awesome and sound system decent. I've caught some great live acts performing free in store. They could use more listening stations for CDs. Knowledgeable workers can be very helpful if you have a question. Some DVD prices seem a bit high. Lately books section hasn't had any of the rare music related titles I'm seeking or rare posters I'm looking for either but they do show up. Was looking for a new Country artist Gary Lee Michael who charted in Billboard some years ago on an indie label plus won a bunch of Nashville awards. Anyhow, now he's making waves again with a new indie release. I couldn't find artist Gary Lee Michael anywhere at Amoeba. Then I found out it was cause his new product isn't out till late April! 2008! They are on top of all that is musical. Pick up a pamphlet where the employees rate new product. It's free and you can possibly learn something new.

What can I say about this place that will describe the sheer brilliance of it? It has the most interesting and diverse set of CDs and records you could ever want or imagine. They have imports of big name bands. They have a lot of stuff by Indy bands that you may not have heard of but will be hooked on. If you go here you will spend money. It's a huge store. Also, they buy used CDs from you at a fair price; a good place to get rid of the stuff you don't want.
