I have been seeing Dr. Opara for over 5 years and I have year after year overlooked her lateness in seeing appointments. However, this is IT. I went in for a contact lens exam in August and got my trial pair of lens. My prescription was pretty much the same as the prior one so I continued with my lens supply until I ran out. I later went back to her office to get a copy of my prescription. When I called my vision insurance to verify my benefit for boxes of lenses I found that she'd billed them for contacts that I NEVER ordered. Therefore leaving me with zero benefit left to use. My insurance worked out the credit due me so I could use my benefit. I also found out she billed $235 for 2 boxes of lenses that should have cost a max of $40-45 per box (I wear toric lens). This doesn't appear to be accidental...and greatly concerns me about her business practices. What if I decided to never wear contacts????? She gets free money for contacts she never actually sells? In most of the universe, this is considered FRAUD!

I was new to this office and it was my first day there. I feel that the office staff in the front who greet and communicate with you could be a little more courteous and understanding than they are. Especially the girl in the front can put a smile on her face like she is happy to be there & happy to help you. Yes Dr. Opara does need to be on time. I waited about 45 min after my scheduled appt before she came which was a little frustrating because I am big on being on time. I did have to remind them that I was there & waiting and once I did she eventually came out. My experience w/ her when she came in and during the process was a pretty good one. She prescribed what I need and got me in glasses that same day & I was able to see much better. So I believe w/ a little more courteous & caring work this office could succeed in customer satisfaction.

I am a physician and I will certainly highly recommend Dr. Opara.I had my correction done by an opthamologist and it was off. I went to Dr.Opara who, not only got the prescription precisely "spot on "but was able to fit me with excellent quality frames and lightweight lenses which took some extra time and planning as they had to be sent to another lab (but NOBODY else has EVER done this for me). I did notice that she is one of the few who deal with Medicaid patients. One parent was trying to get frames for free after they had been broken and others were cranky.Frankly, I think that she has the patience of a saint compared to other places I've been. Waiting,? Hey Folks go to the opthalmologist it is at least an hour. How's that working for ypu?

Noticed her Ad in my Church's weekly circulation. I'm surprised that she's still in business and I mean business and not practice. I visited this location because it was listed under my Insurance and it's fairly close to home. It was a huge mistake and I should have gotten a referral from relatives or friends. The office was completely disorganized. There was one girl that seemed to know what she was doing and appeared to be overworked. There was one guy that I think must be her boyfriend or a relative because his a waste of payroll. The Dr. herself was unprofessional. I had a feeling I was at a salon and not a professional Doctors office. It took 3 appointments to complete an eye exam that would normally take 30 minutes. Every time I had to wait over 30 minutes and while I waited I was able to see the people coming back upset with their prescriptions or glasses. The last day I asked for the bill and told them I was just going to a different place, they finally got down to it and completed the exam. They were surprised when I asked for the Rx and that I would get glasses somewhere else.

The doctor was like a sleep walker, said very little. I had taken my 7 yr old grand daughter for her 1st eye exam which had been recommended by the school nurse. She frightened the child and didn't bother to dilate her eyes but prescribed glasses for far-sightedness. After suffering daily headaches for 3 months, I finally took her to see a pediatric eye specialist who, after completing a full eye examination, confirmed the original RX was incorrect. I definitely would NOT recommend this doctor!

I have been a satisfied patient of Dr. Opara for close to ten years. I am continually appreciative of her ability to make me feel important. From asking how my day is, to remembering the names and ages of my children I realize that I am not only dealing with a true professional but a caring person. As a result of her skill and reputation she is often busy, which has resulted in longer than anticipated waits. However, I understand that there is a price for good service, and from my experience with Dr. Opara it is and has always been well worth the wait. If you are seeking a competent, thoughtful, personable optometrist with unbeatable prices. Dr. Opara is the right woman for the job.

I arrived 15 minutes early for my 11:00 appointment and when I was signing in I noticed she had 4 appointments booked for 10:00 and none of them were seen until 10:47. The last 2 times I went to see her, she was at least 30 minutes late each time. This time I waited for 45 minutes and finally asked the guy next to me when his appointment was. He was 10:45 and there were 3 people in front of him. She doesn't care about anyone's schedule. I finally walked out and told the receptionist they could close my file...I wont be coming back.

Office is clean and nice. I went in impressed, but after waiting an hour pass my appointment time to be seen by the doctor and it wasn't even busy that day. The guy who came in after me was called in first and left 45 minutes before the doctor got to me. I had to go out of the room to tell them i was still waiting to be seen because i felt like they had forgotten about me...I wanted to leave badly, . But luckily, she finally came, took her 5 minutes to get my prescription...for my one hour wait. One lady at the counter was super sweet, the rest are doesn't seem like they care much. They talk amongst themselves too much. the only time they'll ask to help is probably when they first greet you. After that, you gotta ask for it. got my glasses, and prescription is not accurate. will never come back. zero star if it was possible.

I would NOT recommend going to see Dr Opara. My appointment was for 5 and I didn't get out of there until after 7 PM. Not only that I couldn't get my glasses picked out and ordered because her staff left for the evening, knowing that she still had customers that needed to be serivced. Not only that, my glasses took over a month to come in. I called every week and every week t gave me the round around. I am NEVER going back. They are all very unprofessional, rude, and plain stupid!!!

I would definitely not recommend Dr. Opara. My appointment was scheduled at 10:15 am. She did not walk in the door until 10:35 am! It was 11 am when she finally come in to do my exam. Her office seems very unprofessional. The girl who asked me to take out my contacts before the exam than asked me for the contact lens fitting if I had ever worn contacts before! Needless to say the contacts prescription was not right. I was asked to wait again for the doctor. I had been at the office almost two hours! Perhaps if Dr Opara could start her appointments on time, people who come in for a simple eye exam would not have to wait unnecessarily. I will take my business elsewhere to someone who is a professional.

I have been going to Dr. Opara for 4 years and I have always had a good experience when I see her. I have a difficult contact lens prescription, but Dr. Opara is always able to get it right.

My twelve year old daughter and I both went to Dr. Opara for eye exams and contact lenses. After going back and forth to her office on average once a week for three months to try on the next pair of lenses, she never could get our vision correct. I just went in because my contacts were fifteen years old, scratched and wanted the latest technology since I had been wearing contacts for the last 26 years. She couldn't even copy my old RX. She tried to blame us for the reason she couldn't get the vision right because after all she was the professional.

She was rude and pompous to both of us. English is her second language and I only mention this because my daughter had used the word "funky" to describe how her vision looked when being examined and the doctor chastised me for allowing my daughter to use such horrible language. I tried to explain to her that "funky" meant weird and was not a dirty word. She insisted that I didn't know what I was talking about. I assured her since I was born in this country, grew up speaking English, and graduated from college with a degree in Education that I did indeed know what the definition of that word was. Needless to say that was my last visit. I lost a couple of hundred dollars that I had paid her on our first visit. The next doctor I used examined us both and the first pair of lenses were perfect. One visit and we were done.

PROS: none
CONS: everything
