I do not recommend this place at all. the workers are rude and snobby and selective to who they want to help. I ordered a wheel and tire for my bike and they were holding it for me until I was financially stable which I ask them to do and they said they would. so 1 day I got a missed phone call from them they left a message asking me if I was going to pick up the parts. I called back a few hours later letting the person know who picked up the phone that I did want the bike and I will get it this weekend. the person who picked up the phone said it was fine. that was a thursday. I went to call saturday to let them know I am bringing in my bike today and they told me they SOLD my parts, because they waited too long for my response!?!?!?!?
they called me on a thursday I call them back the same day telling them I would either come in friday or saturday so I call them saturday to let them know I'm coming in and that's too long of a response?
if there was no communication between employees that is not the customers fault.
when I spoke to the employee who said he sold my bike parts I originally told him that I called back the following day when in fact it was the same day that I called.
he seemed more irritated than apologetic to my situation.
I was still upset about it so I called back about 30 minutes later to speak to the store manager. the employee that amswered the phone handed the phone to the same employee who said he sold my bike because he did not hear from me.
Now it would have been 1 thing if that was just an employee who is there over the summer but this is the kind of customer service I get from a store manager??

I was in this place for ten minutes, and no one asked me if I needed any help...the place was empty. I asked if they had anything for under $500, and they said no. They carry no used bikes, and are basically bike snobs. Head to Uptown Bikes for real service.

I ride about 200 miles per week so I've been to a few bike shops. I bought my last bike here at Johnny Sprockets (a Specialized Cyclocross) and I needed to make some changes to the fit and components after my purchase. Their reply was always just come on in and we'll take care of you. I had to go back several times and I never was made to feel like I was an Intrusion. Manuel Fit me to the bike and did a great job. He spent a significant amount of time doing so. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend them. Very nice people with bicylcle smarts and reasonably priced.

Johnny Sprocket's on the North Side is a great full-service bike shop. They have many bikes in stock and can order any bike you're interested in that they don't have in the store. They sell a variety of bike accessories, including pumps, helmets, and gloves. Plus, their repair services are great and reasonably priced.

The best part about the store is their employees. They are all obviously biking enthusiasts and they know their stuff. A bunch of friendly guys who are quick to help with any problem, even if you didn't buy your bike from them.
