Unethical superficial dump!

If you're into the whole classy atmosphere, watching anneroxic chicks with strange hair that look like they belong in a Tim Burton movie walk around, or extremely metrosexual or gay men give attitude and nothing more.. then this would be for you.. Rude inconsiderate stylists, unethical managers, shady business practices, over priced & over profited dump this place truly is.

My story goes, I was scheduled to have my hair colored at the Old Orchard location. I showed up on time, only to discover that my stylist went home for the night and NOBODY even bothered to contacted me because " it was a very busy day", according to management. Funny, when I got there there was only a handful of people but okay.. I asked to speak with the coloring manager ( orange hair chick), and she did not seem to care, and nobody else was available to do my hair, except some guy who had extremely much higher prices (75% higher to be exact) then what I am use to paying. It wasn't my fault that the stylist went home early so why do I get stuck paying for another stylist whose prices are significantly higher and Mario's wouldn't cover the difference. I left work early to sit in traffic to get there just to turn around and leave, again nobody cared, no compensation/gift card/complimentary service or nothing!

I did contact their customer service hotline, and again nobody really cared, all you hear is " I'm sorry, that wasn't right of her, come back again and use someone else, thanks for calling". Click.

Anyway, I wound up going to Hair Cuttery down the street and guess what they are a lot cheaper, and much more friendly! Nobody would ever even know the different either! Save your money, go elsewhere!

I was the only customer in the entire salon for nearly 2 hours getting a mani/pedi, only because I received a gift certificate. When I went to pay, I was told that my gift certificate was expired (I was told by a manager, that their gift certificates don??t expire), and I had to pay $72 for a mani/pedi. I asked for a manager, and of course there wasn??t a manager in the building. I called the manager the following morning, and all she could offer me was a ??complimentary? manicure (as if I really want to return to this place) I complained to their ??guest relations? and also was offered a manicure. I don??t want a manicure. What I want is my $72 back!!! It??s no wonder I was the only customer in the entire salon, given that they treat their customers with such ??appreciation.? Thanks Mario Tricoci, thanks a lot!!!

I got a gift certificate for a manicure @ MT so I decided to use it one day, I called that 800 number and got an appointment. I got there and had Ania as nail technician, she was so nice and was a pleasant experience. During the manicure I noticed her haircut was beautiful. She also has my hair type, fine and not to dense. she told me that George did cut it. I had stooped going there few years back since the place is not the old Mario Tricoci, it just carries the name, service wise not even close. I went at the front desk and asked if George was available, I was lucky, went to shop and got back in 1 hr. He was waiting for me. I did trust him right way, he looked like he knows what to do. in just about 45min there was the new me, and I loved it. I don't think my hair ever looked that good. Easy to style, looks fuller, and so stylish moder look. Will go back. You got to try him, he i the missing link between the old and the new Tricoci salons.

Also the front desk girl was very nice, and help full.

OK, so this was a few years ago, but I wanted to get my hair done for my high school graduation, so I made an appointment at Mario Tricoci. I got my hair cut there a couple times and it was fine (but nothing special), so I thought it wouldn't be a problem. Well, I was wrong. I came into the salon, told the stylist what I wanted (an updo with curls in the back) and she started curling my hair. After she had pinned up about half of it she told me it was no use and that my hair was "too long." I thought long hair was good for an updo? Whatever, so there my hair was all janky and half-up and I had to leave because she was about to cry. She made me feel really bad so I even tipped her. I had to put the rest of my hair up myself. Since I managed to do a decent job, I'm pretty sure that my hair wasn't too long. Obviously, I've never been back.

Mario is a tried and true hair salon and day spa with a full range of services. Stylists specialize in either hair color OR cuts--the same individual doesn't do both. That means you get a higher quality of service as they concentrate on what they do best, but it also means you need to book multiple appointments if you want both done. Cuts are somewhat basic but consistent. However, for color, especially corrective color, Mario is top notch. Several of my friends have gone to Mario after getting terrible color jobs and/or fried hair, and they always come out looking great. Waits can be long as they get backed up, especially on the weekend. Spa services are pricey, but a great gift idea as they have packages to suit any treatment you want.

PROS: Consistent service and great colorists
CONS: Vey busy salon can mean waits, pricey spa
