I have been going to Tasha at Seven for the last 6 years. She is a wonderful stylist. But she is the only reason I go to this business; it's too loud, and too expensive, too full of the Bellevue "entitlement" attitude, and I have had poor customer service from several of the front desk staff on more than one occasion over the years. Tasha's expertise and wonderful personality make the salon for me; if she left so would I. Perhaps if I was young and cute the staff would find me an acceptable customer, but clearly I don't fit and they let me know it.

Completely overpriced for sub par quality. I understand you are paying for location and ambiance but it just wasn't worth it for me.

I had the best haircut ever from Chloe at Seven Salon in Bell Square. She left - I was dedicated to finding her again. She is at Salon Matarazzo in Bellevue in the comples where Larry's Market used to be. Plenty of parking and Love the new place. Call her there!

I went to this salon because of their wonderful reviews. I brought a picture of the haircut I wanted and sat down in my chair. I explained to my stylist what I wanted done and showed her my picture. She then told me what SHE wanted to do with my hair and said that she knew what would look better on me than I did. I thanked her for her opinion, but said I wanted to get it cut liked I asked. She said, "What I want to do will look better and I won't cut your hair the way you want because it won't look as good."

Needless to say, I left my appointment, went to Salon Matarazzo and had my hair cut just the way I wanted it by Lexi. I have never had more complements on my hair.

I went to salon 7 in Bellevue today for a haircut with Bradley. It was the best cut I have ever had, Bradley was so wonderful and helpful with tips and information. He was comfortable to talk to and so very charming. If I would change anything it would be the volume of the music. It was a real challenge to hear what Bradley was saying.
But other than that everyone was great and so willing to please.

Jessica is the best. I have thick wavy hair and could never wear it down. With Jessica's awesome haircut, I'm able to finally wear my hair down and not look like a wild woman.

When I first came in to SEVEN Salon in Bellevue Square about two weeks ago I was taken on a tour. The ladies at the front desk welcomed me with a warm smile and I was invited to take a tour of the salon. I was offered a latte from their espresso bar and was amazed to see that there was a live DJ above the bar! Immediately following the tour I was offered a complimentary consultation with one of their stylists. She sat me down at her station and helped me discover the best cut and color my skin tone and face shape. I was so pleased with this, as I had never had a stylist provide me with pointers on how to accentuate my features.

When I came in a few days later for my actual hair cut I left feeling absolutely beautiful! They really take the time to listen to what it is that you are looking for in your style and are sure to give you suggestions on how to style it when you aren't in the salon, which was extremely helpful for me! At the end of my service, my stylist set out products for me that she felt would be best on my hair and would help me to achieve my 'new look," this was WAY easier than trying to hunt down the products myself.

Overall, I was very pleased with my experience at SEVEN and will be back in 8 weeks for my next appointment. A helpful tip for anyone new coming to the Bellevue location is that they are right next to Nordstrom (I got a little lost on my way in, but the gal at the front desk was very helpful in directing me!). I would definitely recommend anyone to try SEVEN, you will feel like a whole new person after your experience there!

So I had an 8:45pm appointment, didn't get seen until 9:00, which was okay but it meant that the stylist, Chu, rushed the haircut and blowdrying - everything took about 20 minutes. As she was stying she pulled out some hair and jokingly said "Well, that'll wake you up!" I was so shocked I didn't know what to say. I called to express my concerns and the lady I spoke to was nice and said they fix up hair within 2 weeks, unfortunately I'll be out of town, or maybe it's fortunate for me because I don't think I'd go back anyways.

You don't go to a hair salon for the music, the coffee or the ambiance!!! You want professionals working under optimal conditions to take care of your hair. OK, it's nice if you like the music and if you want a cup of coffee. But do you want to entrust your hair to someone who can't really see what they're doing? Would you go to a dematologist or a jeweler or a manicurist or a dressmaker who works in dim light? An experienced stylist working in dim light might be able to give a decent haircut, but there's no way you can get the color you want when neither you nor the stylist can actually see true colors, even when they move you over to the window to try to see the results of a color job . Check out the lighting at 7 and the lighting at other top-rated salons before letting anyone in a disco-atmosphere mess with your hair color.

OMG....what a disaster! Worst haircut of my life!!!! first off be aware that the stylist that say that have been doing hair for 2 years and charging 60 dollars probably just got on the floor, I bet there are only a dozen or so sylist in there that have been doing hair longer than 3 years. Worst experience of my life, and talk about overated!

I had a japaneese hair straighthening done by april. i chosed seven from several store including gene juarez because of it's lively vibe. I was impressed by the D'J and the autmosphere was fun. Upon arrival i was waited on promptly and offered a bottled water with some chocolate. The was the end of my fun experience. I have gone to april several days before for a hair consultation as i was nervous about getting the japaneese hair straighthening. Upon looking at my hair ( i go for a cut twice a year, and do not color my hair), she said that mine would be easy to do with excellent results since i have virgin hair. She stated that my hair would be straighter than my flat ironed hair and without the freeze without doing anything just wash and wear. The price was steep 800 plus an 75 dollar haircut. She seems like she knows what she was doing, and she was using both the widely used yukon system. I asked her if she does hair testing and she refused saying she can tell if a hair can tolerate the procedure from her years of experience doing the procedure. So i gambled and paid the deposit which was 400 dollars and scheduled my appointment. Midway through the lengthy hair straighthening process (mine took 6 hrs since i have long hair), inotice that my scalp was burning. When i told april what i was feeling she stated that of course you are gonna feel burning it's a chemical we are using. any chemical will do that. So i read my book patiently and try not to freak out as much as i figured that was normal. By 1 30 pm as she was midway applying the resealer, she went to lunch and called one of the staff who i think was from the front desk and you tell was very inexperience, she instructed her to continue spraying my hair with whatever chemical was in the bottle and spray my hair. The stinging was getting worst but i just bit my tounge and hoping for the best. After my hair was reshampooed and blowdried and flat ironed again, my hair was flat and pin straight. now comes the haircut. I brought several pictures of the type of style i wanted, after barely glancing at one she proceeded to cut my hair. I tried to pull her in once more to look at others and offer her suggestions, but she acted like she got it right away without even lifting my pictures. I wanted to keep the length of my hair and just have long bangs. The length was fine, the bangs was too short by my eyebrows. Already freaking out i could not even say a word as i was shocked in how fast she cut my hair. Resigned i just accepted it coz at least my hair grows back fast. I went to the bathroom and went to paid and i no longer saw her.
The next 3 days, i slept with my hair hanging off the bed as i was not supposed to get it wet, or do anything to wrinkle it while waiting for the hair bonds to get stronger. It still had that shiny straight glow till i washed it. I still needed to flat iron my hair but now 10 min instead of 30 min. I was noticing some strange hair growth at the scalp and i am noticing hair shedding 3 times faster my normal. It's been a month now since i have it done, and now i am seeing that all over my scalp, the hair in contact with my scalp during the straighthening process is now growing out kinky ( ihave wavy hair). I breaks very easy at the portion where it is kinky. The growing hair closest to my scalp is resembling my old hair so far. Now i am very worried at the rate i am going that i am going bald. The kinky is all over and not localized at one area. Upon talking with other stylists who do these procedure, they had said that the chemicals where probably left too long and applied to close to the scalp to have caused this. So now i am expecting a circular layer of kinky hair to grow out in the midst of my straight chemical hair and natural hair. I would never go back for a redo. I wanna go back and show April what she did but what;s the point. I am never gonna let her touch my hair again for fear of things getting worst. I should have gone with my exticts, she was civil but not friendly. We probably talked 10 minutes the entire 6 hrs. She said she needed to focus and does not like small talks. Fine, i got to finnish the book that i brought. Bottom line, japaneese straighthening is not worth it in this place anyway. I am now questioning how much up do date training she gets doing what she is doing. She does not seem so knowledgable about the chemicals she was using as i was asking her questions and getting grade 1 level answers. I'm just saying if i can turn back time, i never would have had it done. I would have stuck to daily straighthening. One time i took a chance with my hair and this is whaat i got. Do you research very well. the main reason i ended up in seven is that gene juarez was so hard to get a hair consultation. I wish i could have been more patient.

WARNING! THEY DON'T LISTEN!
My hair was almost one length and 4" down my back! I went in for a trim, just a trim. I said it no less than 6 times - 1/2" off the bottom to make it look clean so I would look great for a couple of big family events coming up. I have curly hair but wear it straight most of the time which takes work, but lasts a couple/3 days. I asked repeatedly before and during the haircut - you aren't cutting it in layers right? You aren't cutting it short, right? I've been growing my hair out for 3 years, it's been a slow process. (I went back to facebook to look at before pictures).
My hair is 6" shorter in front and doesn't come near to touching my shoulders. It's layered all over and curved around my face. The bangs, which were supposed to be long now curl under my eyes. Instead of two layers, close in length to make the bottom look fuller, I have 8 different lengths all over. It won't go into a pony tail, which is my normal weekday look, so I will now be force to do it everyday or face funky hair bumps from my naturally curly hair. My husband commented "I thought you just went in for a trim, I liked it long". My daughter and I had the same length hair and she wondered why I changed it - she liked looking like mom. :-( It will take me a year to grow back, at least.

Maybe the music is so loud they don't hear you or maybe it's just that they think they know better, but either way, buyer beware!!! This isn't the first bad hair day I've had after going to them, but it will certainly be the last.

Dissapointed. Paid $165 and left with a dark..flat and boring hair. My hair was dark brown and 1)I asked for a lighter shade..I ended up with a black hair. 2)I asked for some layers cuz my hair has grown and look boring..and she barely cut anything not even an inch plus I see more split ends now...so I paid $165 for NO CHANGE at all if not worse. My husband was very upset and asked me not to ever go there again. Stylist suppose to be "An advanced" stylist. her name is Aviva...now I know that "advanced" doesn't mean "better". When I asked for suggestions she didn't even say anything..she seemed like she didn't want to do my hair..infact she did 3/4the job and then asked another stylist to finish. Waste of money..don't go there!

When I first went to Seven I just got a tour. I was really impressed by the look. It is a very oddly inspired place, but it seems that most pieces are asian inspired. There is a DJ and an Espresso bar, which is neat! (I don't really recomend this for older folks unless they're young at heart!)

The first time I went here I got a gal named Brittney. She did a pretty good job. Then I had Aviva. Aviva totally KICKED ASS. I let her do what she wanted to my hair and it turned out amazing. I went to another gal after that but she just paled in comparison...

So, I stuck with Aviva! Aviva did leave for a short while but she is now back at Seven! She is a bit more expensive because she is a senior stylist, but she is worth EVERY PENNY!

If you don't really care about how your hair looks or it isn't a big deal, go to master cuts or something- there is nothing wrong with that! But if you want something VERY specific and well constructed, it is worth paying that extra money.

Also, Aviva is willing to do crazy colors if you ask. :) I usually dye my hair pinks. purples, and blues... I bring some color, she brings some color... and we make it happen! In fact, I am seeing her this week!

Not ALL hair stylists there are amazing. And sometimes some of the staff is obviously snobby... but I go there for Aviva. :) And generally people are sweet. If not, I just ignore them. It's not like they get any of the tip ;p

OH, and their hair products ROCK! <3 The boost and seal lotions are super great. They work well and smell great!

I would reccomend this to people who like a place that is edgy and young! You're paying for the experience too. If your hair is more laid back, you're a bit older, or if you want something quieter... i'd suggest something else. :)

I had my hair cut and colored by Fabby. My hair was very short and she (honestly) hardly changed my original cut. She colored/foiled my hair. I do think the color was well done but again nothing outstanding. The cut was very ordinary. As I said my hair was very short. I paid over $320. I was appalled! Nothing she did was worth this much money. What a fool I am.
I also bought a few of the haircare products they sell under the 7 label. Nothing special-don't bother. Never again!

I searched for a new hair stylist all over Bellevue, it took me two years to find Irina. The staff is great and she is amazing with my fine thin hair. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Jewels at 7 Salon in Bellevue..is the best! I always wanted to true upscale salon experience! This salon takes care of your needs in everyway! Their customer service was amazing, greeted with a smile I was slipped away into a comfortable robe! The staff is very concerned with your needs of drinks and making sure your ok.. Then when my stylist-Jewels came to get me..she gave me a beautiful sexy haircut..as she described she would give me "Victoria Secret" hair.. and that she did!! She is very sweet and skilled! I will definetly be back for another cut and coloring in the future! :)

I am an Asian and Asian hair texture is different. So I called Seven Salon at Bellevue asking if they have an Asian hairstylist. The lady that received my called were so RUDE saying to me I cannot pick hairstylist. I have to tell her when I want to make the appointment and she will arrange whichever hairstylist is available at that time.

RIDICULOUS! I am the one who pay the money and I CANNOT pick the hairstylist??? As many friend told me were right, their customer service SUCKS!!! Or are they being RACISM?!!

I would really appreciate if anyone could tell me where should I go for a good Asian Haircut?

I have been visiting Travis for over a year now and have to say, WOW! Until meeting Travis I had never met a stylist that could provide an amazing haricut AND color- I find typically sytlists are either good at one or the other... not usually both. Travis is the exception- he is incredible at matching the right colors with my skin tones, and his haircuts are to die for! I would consider myself incredibly picky when it comes to finding a great sytlist, and can honestly say I am lucky to have found Travis. I always seem to get compliments on my hair within moments of leaving the salon. The last time I visited another client asked me who did my hair on the way out.... On top of everything Travis is a joy to be around- kind, energetic... you can tell he loves what he does. I think that is a big part of what makes him such a great sylist. I would highly recommend Travis, and will continue to drive to Bellevue from Seattle just to keep seeing him!

I've been seeing William for 3+ years for cuts and colors. Not only does he do a wonderful job on my hair, he's also super sweet and great to talk to during the 2 hours I'm there. He's nailed the color and I love the way my hair grows out -- a good sign of a great cut! The only reason I'm not giving this review 5 stars is I wish it wasn't so expensive and that the wonderful head massage (given by his assistant) lasted a little bit longer. This by the way has nothing to do with William! Thanks for making me look and feel good.

I had some bad experiences and some good. April at the Bellevue Seven is AWESOME! I was trying to grow out my hair from having it very short throughout my life and she worked with me about what would look good and how to style it. It's always hard to grow your hair out but I didn't have a style during this phase that looked bad! She's my all time favorite!!! She always does a consult with me everytime I go. She's always pleasant and easy to talk to. I recommend April if you want to try Seven!!

I had coppery light brown hair that I really liked and everyone else seemed to like the color as well. Jodi advised me that this color blended with my skin tone too easily so that my features were lost. She colored my hair an espresso kind of brown that still showed flecks of gold in the light. Some really cute guy just told me I look striking. NEVER have I been called STRIKING in my life. Now people compliment my eyes and my hair not just my hair color. Do see Jodi, she is sweet and very knowledgable.

I normally go to Gene Juarez in Bellevue, but I wanted to try something new. Seven DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! This place is fun, hip, trendy. You feel ??cool? just walking in there. Noah cut my hair and did an amazing job. He paid attention to my bone structure, face shape and the texture of my hair. He was friendly but not overly talkative. I liked this because sometimes you just want to relax and enjoy the experience. He gave me a great neck and head massage while I was being shampooed. You could tell he knew what he was doing and had great confidence while he cut my hair. I have fairly long hair so the cut took about 1.5 hours. I paid $60 for my cut including tip. I would definitely go there again. You can tell that the staff is a very talented team. Funky, hip, trendy and cool.

They are more interested in reeling in new clients at the cost of losing one of their best clients. I've been going to Seven Bellevue for about a year and a half. I??ve been seeing the same stylist and the results were pretty good. At my last appointment I was rushed through the color and cut because my stylist needed to make time for a consultation with a new client. The problem is that somewhere in the rush the incorrect color was mixed and applied to my hair. I was whisked out of there after the blow dry only to find out when I got home that my roots and ends of my hair turned orange and the cut was terrible. I called and was told to come back in the next day to get it fixed which I did. I got more color applied to my hair and my stylist whacked off my bangs (and I mean whacked) making it look like she put a bowl over my head and cut my bangs. Just awful! Also, the color was almost black and looked terrible on me. When I told her it was too dark she said well, it is what it is. WHAT? I've been paying $200 plus tip every 3 weeks and that's how they respond when they mess up. I was so embarrassed to go to work the next day. I had to find someone else quick to fix her mess which cost me another $250.00 because my new stylist had to bleach my hair to remove some of the color. All I can say is SEVEN IS WHAT IT IS, a good place to get a lousy color and an even worse haircut at very high prices. Good luck with that!

I love love love Elle @ 7! I have seen her three times now and have been more than satisfied every time. I had yet to find a stylist that I liked and would give repeat business to, but Elle now gets my business repeatedly. Their prices are a little more than I like to pay, but it's worth it to walk out with a look you love.
The service has always been great, even though I would tend to agree the people there appear to be stuck up, they were always nice and never rude. I love that they provide free lattes and I like being able to listen to the DJ, though this is a turn off for a lot of people. If you like that kind of thing, you should enjoy it!

I don't know what's wrong with the earlier trash-talking reviewer, but TRACY SPURRELL is god's gift to curly hair.

If you're like me, your first meeting with her will feel a little bit like a therapy session, talking about the highs and the lows or your tormented relationship with your curly hair.

She's very knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly honest about what will (and will not) work for your hair. Ever since she started cutting my hair I have been getting several compliments a week on it. I told her recently that, should I become unemployed and need to cut down on family expenses, that seeing her for my hair would be the very last budget adjustment I would make. Her haircuts do more for my self image than any piece of clothing or pair of shoes I've ever purchased.

TRACY SPURRELL = AWESOME.

First, beware that this salon is pushing out people from their beauty school at a rate of every 4-6 weeks and they will have these trainees styling your hair while you pay a premium price.

I had one good and several bad experiences at this salon. Owner Rodger "fixed" one cut by simply snipping equal bits off the existing cut. Is this styling? The stylist doies not blow out your haircut, but someone in the training program do this, They are supposed to be able to tell what the style is by looking at your wet cut. One girl took 45 minutes to do a mediocre blow out. I went back to Rodger for a second cut, figuring he would deliver on salon promises and I asked for the samw.style as before. His loaded-with-attitude response: "How I cut depends on how I felt when I got up in the morning." Huh? This salon promises a perfect results every time. Results suggest he is not much of a designer.
One color experience was negative, one was great. But on the second trip to the better designer, everything went south and she colored over all the good results with a too dark color that covered all the highlights I paid (a lot) for the previous trip. When I went in to talk to the designer, hoping to find a solution and maintain a relationship, they put their bouncer (yes really--so they apparently need one) on me and forced me to have this conversation in the entry to the salon, then, although I had not even raised my voice, they called mall security and told me to leave. GReat guarantee of their results.
This salon promises a lot but mostly delivers a DJ and some Barbie girls serving water and selling products. And you will buy products--they use at least 6 products to style your hair. All reek of vanilla. All make your hair limp (until you get all 6 in and then your hair is pretty stiff).
My next hair stylist says her shop does a lot of re-dos on people who went here. Basically, after spending around $1000 at their salon, I had to start over. This place does not live up to reputation.
Not sure how this place got it's reputation, but seems to be based on the DJ concept (hip and all) rather than the styling expertise. There is one good designer there and one sometimes good color artist. But nobody delivers on the promise and their 'fix' is to tell you to leave an never come back.

I was able to get a same-day appt. with Nhi b/c of a cancellation. I have tried several stylists throughout the area since moving here from Chicago last year. Nhi is by far the best. Very skilled and friendly. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted but also gave me some helpful input based on my face shape and hair type. I am really pleased with the result--a great cut and beautiful highlights (that aren't too light or stripey). Nhi was great and I will definitely go back to her.

I went in with the thought that at SEVEN the stylist would transform my hair. The cut I got was pretty much the same one everyone gives me so I was a bit disappointed. To me the atmosphere of the place is of a salon that's trying too hard to be trendy but failing. The cost was higher than I normally pay but the stylist skill wasn't any higher. I did get offered a free baked good which I declined so I can't say if that is what accounted for the price difference.

I did not enjoy my experience here. After explaining a little bit about what I was thinking, she made me feel stupid when she said with an attitude, "I don't know what you're saying" and stared at me. There are much nicer ways to help me out than making me feel stupid for being there and for not wanting an edgy cut. Then, after she decided what she wanted to do, she told me that she was going to cut my hair the same length in the front and the back for a more modern look. I said, "um, I don't really think I would like that, that's not the style I was going for". Stylist: "I think it would give you a modern look, let's do it." I protested one more time, but as I'm a little on the shy side, I didn't want to protest AGAIN so I left with a haircut I specifically said I did not want. So, I guess don't go there if you don't like saying "no" three times.
