My theatre had a special event at the Larchmont Grill. The entire night was amazing. The owners went out of there way to accommodate us. The food was wonderful. All the guests raved all night long. The ambiance was just as wonderful as the food. We recommend this place to everyone. I have been back a few time and will keep coming back.

I have always loved old Craftman homes and the restaurant did an amazing job. The Hollywood Hills view from the outside 2nd floor patio is gorgeous. Loved the pasta.

Pros: Great food, loved the restaurant.

The style of this Craftsman home is relaxed and refreshingly cozy, which makes the service, the wine selection and the food even more appetizing yet unpretentious which isn't and easy thing to pull off in LA. The menu is diverse and delisious. The Tuesday Wine night is great fun and a creative way to try new different wine choices. There isn't much more to say, but I wish they were open on Monday nights.

I thought I had left a review here before, but can't seem to find it now so I will leave another. This place is a special treat for my boyfriend and I. We come here when we want to celebrate, or just to say I love you and you deserve this. We have never not been accommodated, or treated badly, and the waiters and waitresses are superbly knowledgeable and helpful on those nail biting dinner decisions. The owner and manager is very personable and open as is the staff. I look forward to their sincere greetings every time we go there. My boyfriend and I always order their Mac n Cheese, and let me tell you, I am a real critic when it comes to that. It's terrific to say the least. Bland is not a word one can use when describing any of their entrees, believe me, I've been working my way down the menu. Their chicken dishes are resplendent with flavor, their steaks are juicy and best in choice cuts. They have a Kobe Beef Burger and seasoned fries to die for. If you're looking for a Salad, Pasta, of Vegetarian fare, they've covered you there as well. Their vegetables are crisp and not smothered in butter, which I appreciate. Everything is fresh, (I don't know if they shop local, but it wouldn't surprise me). Another tip, don't sleep on their wine menu. They've got some excellent choices to offer. In closing I cannot speak highly enough of this cozy, refined, and elegant establishment. I heard a rumor they were considering booths -- please don't. You're perfect just the way you are. :)

It was my wife's birthday and I was searching for a place that we've never been, something with class and character. I found this restaurant in a neighborhood gems section of another search engine.

The service was impeccable and unsurpassable. The choices on the menu were so tantalizing that it was hard to choose just one thing to eat. They were attentive to my wife including printing her name on the menu (Happy Birthday Sharon) and providing a personalized dessert plate as well.

The wine list was small but had an excellent selection. We chose an unusual Shiraz that was excellent. I had the Rib Eye steak, it was perfect. The Cesar Salad was unusual and tasty. The desserts divine.

I can't think of any criticisms. Thanks Larchmont Grill, we'll be back.

I love this restaurant! Everyone in my office goes here when we have business lunches. Everything I've had here is great! I love the Spa menu. It was so much food and I didn't feel guilty about eating it all. I love the chicken & brown rice dish. It sounds so boring and I only ordered it because it sounded "Healthy" . I was amazed at how good healthy could taste. Their desserts are fabulous as well. They change them regularly. I've had the chocolate bread pudding (to die for) and also the carrot cake (Love it). The service is also amazing. I had my Birthday dinner there and they took such good care of us. They put us up stairs on the balcony. We had the whole place to our selves and our own waiter. Who was amazing! He actually ran to the store for us. I really can't say enough about how great the owners and all of the staff are. All of my friends were so impressed and love it so much that we are all going back.

You must find the time to visit this restaurant!!!
What make it so special is not only the variety and tastiness of its food, but the service. The aim, as we see it, of this restaurant , is to provide a family type environment with warmth and home style cooking. What takes this eatery to the next level is the pleasant addition and tastes of California style cooking. They go out to their way to provide an interesting menu that will bring you back, even if the fireplace isn't burning.
We're extremely satisfied customers who aren't afraid to recommend Larchmont Grill to family and friends.

My family and I went the the Larchmont on the night of our arrival in L.A after three weeks of traveling through Europe and New York, and it was the best dining experience we've had the whole trip. We had made a reservation so we were seated straight away, on the balcony outside. It is not a large place and you couldn't have fit any more than the seven tables on the balcony, but the soft lighting and attractive but minimal decor made the area seems spacious and our space very intimate and secluded. Our waiter, Cory, was the friendliest, most helpful waiter we've had, and even though he accidentally knocked a Coke into my lap, he made it impossible to be upset - it was a fun night with his familiar and eager-to-please attitude. He went out of his way to make the spill up to me, bringing complimentary dessert at the end of the meal and chatting to us long after our meal was over about must-see attractions in LA and the less touristy places to visit.

Tired, and prepared to eat anywhere after our long flight, I believed I had "settled" by going to a grill... the name conjures images of Ranch themes and barbecue sauce, but the food was divine. I am no expert critic, but we all know what we like, and it was all drenched in flavors that matched each other perfectly. I played it safe, ordering the pan seared chicken with vegetables, but even a dish that has such potential to be boring made my taste buds buzz. Plus, all the meals were very reasonably priced.

The Larchmont is a great experience for couples, families and groups of friends - all of whom we saw dining and seemingly having a similarly wonderful experience as we did.

We had one evening in L.A.(live on Long Island) and wanted our restaurant experience to be the best possible. We had heard excellent things about LARCHMONT GRILL, and my wife and I went with our son and his partner, and our expectations were more than fulfilled. My shrimp pasta was superb, and a mac and cheese appetizer was richly delicious. Our meals were topped off with a shared pear tart that was a masterpiece in both taste and presentation. The service was flawless and the tone was relaxed and competent. We highly recommend the restaurant and will definitely return when next in Los Angeles.

I have been several times, sometimes with the family, sometimes just with my husband, sometimes just the girlfriends, and in every circumstance this is the perfect fit. Great food quality, great choices, interesting selections, great service, the employees are just real, nice people. Tuesday is 1/2 price wine night! I have loved it every single time, and we eat out often, so we know good food. I read one review that labeled them expensive, I must say, that I find ithe prices very reasonable for the quality of food you are getting, so the other reviewer was either inexperienced or unrealistic as a diner. Absolutely a YES.

This restaurant is truly darling. I have been three time and have been impressed each time. I am on a limited budget and am happy to tell you each time I have been to this restaurant I have enough leftovers for breakfast the next day. They are not only kind and accommodating they give so much food for each entree. I am on a limited budget and am proud to say that larchmont grill is in my neighborhood. I love how cozy and friendly the staff and owners are. They deserve a visit; but I don't want them to get too popular, I want to be able to get a table every week. Love this place!!!

WoW! I headed here to write a glowing review of my experience of the Larchmont Grill when I read another review that had just come in... I know who they were- I was seated right next to them!!! They wrote such a bad review and it just made me MAD! They made it seem like they knew so much about food and so shabbily cut down everything they ordered- Now it is time for all of us to laugh- The reason why I remember them is the decanted wine! The sweet waitress (she was ours too) was trying to decant the wine so it would not the dump the sediment into their glasses, and the guy said 'Oh it is ok we will drink the sediment- it wont hurt us!' What a moron- yeah that guy knows what is good!!! Unhappy people we thought and now we know for sure!

Anyways, enough of the bad vibes lets get to the goodness! I LOVE THE BURGER NIGHT AT THE LARCHMONT GRILL AND I AM A VEGETARIAN! They have such a great veggie burger- I was so excited at the new addition to the menu AND they have sweet potato fries- oh my lord I was in heaven! My husband had the Salmon burger and he was just thrilled too- juicy and huge and the home cut fries were just delish! Our waitress is a veg too and she suggested the tempura string beans to start with along with the Oven roasted beet Salad and when she said it was great she was not kidding! The tempura beans had a soy ginger and chipotle aioli dips and we just kept dipping! The beet salad had red and gold beets asparagus baby spinach AND pears- together they exploded with flavor. We also splurged on desert (don't judge, don't hate!) and the hot cherry pie was so very delicious, I cannot remember a better slice!
To top off the wonderful food (and great value!) the service was superb, our waitress was so sweet, thoughtful and attentive- her warmth was very real. The rest of the staff were also super friendly and courteous- they make coming to the grill like coming home. Try it out on Wednesday nights for burger night. even if you are a Vega-mite!

Where do I begin? Must say this cute and cozy craftsman style eatery is on top of it's game. I was first greeted by Mark, the owner of this bungalow. He seated us quite quickly with a great smile and tasty items. Of course I went for the Filet and I'm so glad I did. It's so hard to find a really good steak in this city, well now I can stop looking. The steak was amazing!!!! It melted like butter in my mouth with so much zest and flavor. Mark recommended a wine that suited my order and my bf from one of there many, many choices. Thanks Mark for a wonderful meal that made our Valentines Day memorable, sorry it took a while for the review. I'll be back for lunch soon too.

We went this past Sunday early @ 11:00am had reservations from open table. I ordered the French Toast & my 17 year daughter got the tradtional country breakfast. Beautiful atmosphere, music was at a level not to be distracting, cozy setting, modern features and excellent service from the gentleman (who I believe is the owner) at the front door, to the busser and wait staff. It was getting busy by the time around noon we left. The French Toast was light and fluffy, my decaf coffee strong with a good flavor, orange juice nice not to tart. My daughter enjoyed her breakfast but it was the basic eggs, bacon... nice tasting bacon, not to greasy, breakfast potatoes okay lightly seasoned not crispy enough on the outside for us but I think most would be happy with them.

Over all I will be back with friends there was a good varied selection on the menu so I look forward to discovering what else they do well. Seeing as I am in the Industry I tend to be picky but I heard from other tables around me that for the most part, these were frequent guests.

I took my boyfriend here for his b-day and we both loved it! Since moving to LA a little over a year ago and thoroughly enjoying the wide variety of ethnic food available, we have struggled to find a good bistro/American style restaurant. I think we might have found a new favorite. Larchmont Grill has something for everyone ? salads, vegetarian pastas, fish/seafood dishes, and lots of options for the carnivores. We had the crab cake appetizer ? it was one of the best I have had not in the state of Maryland. Radicchio salad was amazing ? the items selected for it were such a great compliment to one another ? manchango, fig, pecans. YUM! I had the grilled pork chop ? great flavor and sauce. BF had the grilled rac* of lamb, which was definitely the highlight of the meal. I am not usually a huge fan of lamb, but the lamb is what I would order on my next trip to Larchmont Grill. Even the sides were done very well. We had a bottle of NZ white and glass each of Paso Robles red. Both were very good. A little bonus ? they have nightly specials! Wed. night buy a bottle of wine (which we did) and your appetizer or desert is free! Tuesday was ? price wine, both by the bottle and glass. I don?t remember all of the other specials, but every night had one. The service was friendly; attentive without being annoying or overbearing ? the waitress always showed up at the table at just the right time, not too interruptive. My only regret ? we were too full for desert. I am sure it would have been tasty as well. The price was what I expected it to be. They also serve lunch and have weekend brunch. I think I might need to talk BF to going there for Easter Brunch. Although it won?t be difficult to get him back there at all. Valet parking, but we easily found free street parking just a block away (on side street off Melrose at strip mall just west of restaurant). Great place for a date. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Yesterday was my first meal there, and I will be definitely going back soon. Great service, charming interiors, amazing variety, relaxing atmosphere - it has everything I need. I know I can bring my colleagues in for work lunches/dinners because there is something for everyone on the menu.

Our waiter suggested I try the sparkling rose, and he was right. I very much enjoyed it. It's not everyday that you can find a nice sparkling rose on the menu.

In need of a place to take my girlfriend for Valentines Day, I stumbled on this great place on open table. needing something, I booked it and was able to get a 930 reservation. Not the best, but considering it was this or the doghouse I booked it. I thought this place must've been decent since it was book until 930, but it also wasnt that well known, yet. I read all the reviews on here and saw how glowing each and every one was. So going into it last night I thought I had stumbled on the best kept secret in LA. Well, to be honest I did. Holy smokes. So good. The bill was high, but it was for Valentines day and I didnt mind paying every cent. The filet mignon I had was as good as you can have it and the guy that brought it out, had me cut into it to make sure that it was cooked to my liking. Who does that? I loved it. The service in general was way too good. Not a bad thing. I felt like I was coming over to a friend's house and they really cared about making sure that i had a great time. The cheesecake, was the best I've ever had. Light and fluffy. So good. To sum up, This place was insane and puts alot of places to shame. I'm going there as much as I can and hopefully they'll remember my name when i come in. hahaha

I am from the East Coast where the food is phenomenal. I have eaten at every top rated Zagat restaurant and this is by far the best.
It looks like a little Inn that you would find in a quaint ski town. The owner, Sean, greeted me immediately and preceded to give me the history of the place while pointing out the original staircase.
I started with the radicchio salad that had apples, figs and manchego cheese with a walnut vinaigrette, my friend had this massive crab cake that was incredibly tasty.
I then had the rackof lamb that was served with goat cheese and mint. The meat was tender and lovely. I wasn't sure if I wanted the sides the dish came with, so I asked Sean what he would recommend. He said the brussel sprouts which I never ever eat. I listened to him, thankfully. They were amazing!!! They were crunchy and had a hint of balsamic vinegar. My friend had the beef short ribs which were fabulous, so soft and tasted like brisket.
If things couldn't get better, Sean brought us over profiteroles which were a chefs special and not even on the menu. The crust was flakey and the cream was delicious.
I couldn't recommend this place any more. I loved it. The best part is I no longer have to trek to Beverly Hills to get a good meal. I can stay right here in my own Larchmont neighborhood.
Bon Appetit!

Tried out LG for the first time with a group of friends....LOVED IT! The food was amazing, and the service was impeccable (our server, Stephen..with a 'p-h', was great~!). Everything that they served was incredibly delicious...we were passing around bites amongst ourselves. The atmosphere is wonderful...very charming, cozy and "homey". We did actually meet one of the owners, Mark, who was very friendly and charming....a hand's-on type of owner who really cares about his customers...bravo!

I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone I know, and hope others out there enjoyed it as much as I and my friends did....can't wait to go back~! :)

Several months ago, my hubby and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Larchmont Grill in the terrace room upstairs. The menu was perfect for all 20 of us, including a couple of picky 4-year olds! The service was awesome, and everyone took real good care of us. I'd give this spot a thumbs up for sure!

Checked out Citysearch a few days back for a place to take a group of 10 people for a good, traditional American meal. Found Larchmont Grill and liked what I read. I called and made the reservations, no problem. The day of my reservations, they called to confirm and to ask if there was any special occasion. The host was wondering because of the large group. I just said, no... my urban family is just getting together. We arrived and were seated in a great spot inside. From the moment we sat down, the service (waiter Stephen) was awesome. Great wine recommendations, specific food knowledge, and a great sense of humor. Above all, the food was the stand out. Its rare in LA when all 10 people are raving about their meal and many of us had to take doggie bags becuase there was so much of it! I cant wait to go back again. Thanks Larchmont Grill for making our Urban Family smile!

We just had Sunday brunch at Larchmont Grill and it was great. Typically, we're always left with a "I could have made this at home" feeling after we eat out. However, this was not the case at Larchmont Grill. From beginning to end, the service, food and atmosphere were fantastic. The menu offers something for everyone. A nice surprise - every brunch item comes with a complimentary starter such as muffins, soup or salad, making the Larchmont Grill an excellent value. Our foodie friends from Chicago were equally impressed. High marks to the on-table caraffe of coffee, attentive waitstaff (never once did I have to ask for a water refill) and electic menu items (next time, I'm trying the short-rib hash.) All in all, a great neighborhood spot. Highly reccomended!

Great wine list - great food! This is not one of those huge outfits where it's easy for the customer to get lost in the shuffle. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic evening or a relaxing lunch. Every table feels like it's been set just for you. And the food is solid! You will not leave hungry because you will want to finish everything on your plate.
Bonus - Permit parking in the area doesn't go into effect until 11pm. So, if you dine before then you can bypass the valet and take advantage of the nearby street parking. Yes, this is in Los Angeles - you haven't lost your mind.

I highly recommend LG to anyone who hasn't tried it. The setting is relaxed and comfortable, the service friendly and efficient, and the food creative and delicious. I hadn't been there in over a year, and the menu had changed dramatically. I asked, and found out there are new owners and a new chef. All the changes are definitely for the best. They've even added weekend brunch. For starters, I love their cheese plate - you get a generous portion of three cheeses and perfectly toasted bread. Their mac&cheese is rich and creamy. I also recommend the beet salad and the dueling tartares. For main dishes, the trout is outstanding. The fish is light and flaky and the garlic sauce and asparagus is a perfect compliment. On the other end of the food spectrum, I also love the porterhouse, but the portion is big, so you'd better be ready to eat. A friend of mine swears by the rigatoni, but I've never had it myself. And the classic burger is truly a classic. The meat is juicy and delicious and is perfect with some of the Stell Artois they now serve on tap. The wine list has also been given a major overhaul, and the selection is thoughtful and varied, with some great bargains. I also went to brunch this past weekend, and I was surprised by how comprehensive the menu is. I started with a delicious cup of coffee and a complimentary mixed salad and had the chicken hash. The portion was a bit too big, but the hash was moist and tasty and the potatoes crispy and brown. I thought the addition of some yellow bell peppers added just the perfect amount of sweetness to the savory dish. I also had a bellini with just enough peach syrup and a fresh wedge that was light and refreshing. This is one of my new favorite restaurants. It's so rare to find a place that is unpretentious and very moderately priced with great food and a totally relaxed atmosphere. Definitely give it a try - especially if you haven't been there in a while. You'll be very pleasantly surprised.

I had a chance to try the new brunch menu at the Larchmont Grill this weekend. Let me start off by saying that the coffee served at the LG is amazing. I can't tell you how important coffee is to a good breakfast. I had the mini-muffin starter which was very fresh and FREE. My friend had the yogurt parfait which looked a little runnier than I like, but apparently tasted good. After our starters and coffee, I had the lemon ricotta pancakes, and my friend had one of their omelettes. My pancakes had that perfect balance of moist and fluffy, if that makes sense.

Overall, the menu just seems more thoughtful than most of the brunch choices in LA. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. There is a small parking lot, but parking is very easy in that neighborhood. Service was attentive, atmosphere was comfortable, and the space is tastefully decorated. Great place to meet friends, no wait for a table, and a free starter...HELLO! I will be back.

Cons: Easy to drive past if you don't have GPS

Great atmosphere, very homey and really, really good food. I had the salmon wrapped in bacon and it was out of this world. Everyone is friendly, great service and the mac and cheese is just what you want it to be-delicious!

Been to Larchmont Grill a couple of times for lunch. The food is pretty good, had a burger the first time and a salad this time (good portion size almost too big). The inside is nice, they also have an outside eating area which can get a little loud as it faces Melrose. The servers are nice but the service is a little slow (food coming out of the kitchen).

I love this restaurant. I have been twice and the first time I liked it but the second time it was fantastic. I am really happy I gave it another try! I had the salmon with brussel sprouts as a side dish and it was scrumptious. The stafff couldn't be nicer and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. My friends and I all really enjoyed ourselves. They have a tasty wine selection also.

As a concierge for a very high profile LA hotel, I eat at a wide variety of restaurants. Lately a lot of the upscale spots seem to blend together. Although some of them have excellent food, nothing impressed me enough to make me feel like making it a regular spot...until now. The Larchmont Grill is so not like everything else. It is homey without being dull, it is lively without being pretentious, and the classic American fare is outstanding. I started with the BLT salad and had no idea a salad could be so delicious. Next came an amuse bouche from the chef, a tuna tartare with mango and avacado, a great trio of tastes. My friend doesn't eat fish, so he was presented with a beef brisket sampler that was equally amusing. For a main course, I had sweet and spicy baby back ribs which were prepared to perfection. The sauce actually was both sweet and spicy and went so well with the mashed potatos and cucumber slaw. The apple crumb was our dessert of choice and it had been freshly prepared by the pastry chef that day. A wonderful end to a great meal. The service was also remarkable, and the whole evening I felt I was an invited guest at a friend's home. I only wished I lived closer to Melrose, but it was worth the drive and I look forward to many returns.

My boyfriend and I went here last night for the first time, just to have a nice little dinner. We walked in to see this cute little restaurant. I love it... It feels so homey. We opted to sit outside because it was a really nice night and it seemed a little quieter, a little more romantic. Our server was wonderful and cheery. So nice. We were completely starved when we got there and ordered the winter salad to start, then I got the Short Ribs, and he got the Burger. We also got a side of the creamed corn gratin. The winter salad was so fresh and light. It was a pretty generous portion, and the vinegarette was really good. It was perfect to start with. We also ate all our bread wich was suprisingly really good... Crispy and warm and soft all at once. Hey... bread is important! Hehe. Anyway it was such a nice atmosphere with the heaters on outside and the candlelight. We had a wonderful time even just waiting for our food. Then when we got our main courses... My short ribs (tender tender beef in an almost stew base) were so unbelevabley wonderful. I actually couldn't stop excalming how good it was. He loved his burger and said it was one of the best he's had in a while. The fries were good and the creamed corn gratin was so interesting! Sweet and fluffy topped with onion-y bread crumbs. But the short ribs... I couldn't stop they were so good. I was stuffed and wishing I had more room to finish it. So flavorful and tender, I can't even explain. Absolutely wonderful. I will definantly have that again, and I'm so excited to go back and try more things on the menu! And we live so close that we're going to walk there! I'm so happy to have this great little restaurant in my neighborhood!

This little gem is a must. Great food, great atmosphere with ZERO pretension! I had their winter salad, which was portioned/priced just right, then moved on to a HUGE/THICK cut pork chop that was surprisingly juicy and well cooked (you would have never guessed that a 1lb pork chop could be this good!) And for dessert . . . . . . . FROZEN CHOCOLATE COVERED BANANAS (with a little peanut butter on the inside!)!!!!!!!!!!!!! As a full time diner (because I can't cook) I look for non-invasive service. And I have to say that my server was exceptionally knowledgeable without interfering with our dinner. They even have " Burger Night" on Thursdays which has a special menu with a variety of incredible burgers in addition to their regular menu. Wine Selection was excellent, highlighting well chosen selections from California's coast that are as delicious as they are reasonably priced. Needless to say, this place will be a regular in my dining repertoire.

I have been to the Larchmont Grill twice and both times I thought it was great. They have great food without all of the great food attitude. It seems to be a local hang out since arriving diners stop to chit chat with fellow diners on their way to their table. This only made the experience that much more charming. Maybe if I go there enough times I will be doing the same thing. Whether you are dressed down in a collared shirt or coming from the office wearing a tie you will feel comfortable. Another attractive part is the bar which is small and intimate and has, if need, a TV to track "the game." Larchmont Grill should be thought of as a destination resturant and as the place to go when you can't think of where to go.

Finally, a new restaurant in Larchmont that is reasonably priced and the food is really outstanding. The friendly staff and the owners are very sweet and attentive. Last night my husband and I took my mom who was in town to dinner there. Our waitress was incredible and very well versed in their wine selections. We dine at some of the best restaurants in LA and dinner last night was one of the best I have had in LA at The Larchmont Grill. They have wonderful wines by the glass too.

Very comfortable, "country-house" with a fireplace and small bar inside. Food is well-executed American food. We had an upscale mac& cheese followed by a large Pork Chop and a "BLT" salad with a filet. Wine list is smallish but very reasonable and as it was a Tuesday, wines were half price. Pineapple upside down cake was excellent. Service slowed down as the place got crowded but overall a very pleasant, comfortable environment with excellent food at very reasonable prices.
