I just returned from a three day stay at the Inn with my 6 year old granddaughter. We all had such a good time. Our condo was newly remodeled and very clean and nice. The restaurant is not currently open but we were in a loft that had a full kitchen. There are some great amenities here. The tides were super low so we spent time exploring the tide pools each day and collected agates on the beach. Two separate days we were able to walk into the sea cave (Devil's punchbowl) that is about a 1/4 mile down the beach and we saw more than 17 ochre starfish on three rocks close to the sea cave and many more attached to the base of the rocks inside the cave. We also spent 2+ hours each day relaxing in the heated pool. The walk through the woods to Otter Rock is a little more than a 1/4 mile where we had a nice lunch at Mo's Restaurant. And the 35 acres landscaped with rhodies still had a few varieties in bloom. What a gorgeous natural spot away from the noise and traffic of 101. It is a perfect family vacation spot. Guests and their luggage are ferried to their rooms with quick courteous service and there is a hillside tram that services the different levels. The views from the balconies are incredible. They also have tennis courts and an exercise room although we didn't use them. This resort is doing lots of things right under their new management as of March, 2011.

It's a great location, but incompetently managed. Our room was very dirty, and the office didn't seem to care at all. Won't stay again until it's under new ownership.

I found that it was a great place for us as a couple to stay here. Fireplace in the room and overlooking the ocean. We did some hiking around the rocks below, but I wouldn't recommend bringing kids to where we were I guess. It's a really nice "grown up" place to get away for some privacy with someone special.

The Inn at Otter Crest is set up quite a bit different than most hotels, which is good and bad. The rooms are nice, and have wonderful views of the ocean. The beach is pretty small, and is a bit of a hike for most depending on the location of your room. They do have some need tidepools, which not all beaches have and can be kind of fun for the kids. It's a unique stay, and is located close to Depoe Bay and Lincoln City. It's not for everyone, but can be enjoyable for those that like this type of resort/hotel.
