Not your average meal! I LOVE this place. Excellent location in Newburyport's charming downtown, and with an open view of the water. Outside seating's available when it's nice out. The bread here is delicious and filling, so watch out! I haven't tried anything I haven't loved, including pizza, pasta, sandwiches, appetizers... My favorite app is Coconut Shrimp!

Fun place for the family to enjoy a meal. The menu is extensive with new items appearing regularly. Super wine selection with prices that meet everyone's budget. Back patio allows older kids to run around on the grass when dinner's done, letting the adults finish their meal or drinks while in view of the kids and the Merrimac River. Careful to plan around weekends in the summer, the place is always packed and hard to get outdoor seating during peak hours or music festivals. Extra perk: Free dinner on your bday if you sign up for their email club.

I love the bread and dipping sauce while you wait. The variety and atmosphere is great. It's been a little while since I've been but to sit outside and enjoy a good meal at a place where the wait staff is friendly and the desserts are good, is nice to find is such a wonderful downtown.

While visiting our friends in Amesbury, we went to dinner here. It was one of the best meals i've had (mustard chicken) There was seven kids in our party so we got a table in the back, and it was perfect. From my wife's shrimp to the frosty beer mugs everything was perfect. And of course the beautiful new england village setting didn't hurt either. A must visit if you come this way. The whole bill of 4 adults and seven kids was about 185 dollars with drinks and tip.

I guess every meal in a US Italian restaurant starts with bread and their is a pleasant foreshadowing of what is to come. Their meals are fair priced and great quality.

I was also surprised by the negative review. NYAJ's is a great place to drop in and get a good variety of food...all prepared well and cooked they way you ask for it. Steak tips are great as are the salads and pizzas. Service is fast
