Monday is wine night; buy one bottle with dinner and the second is free. Small plates averaging $10 each are fun to try and share. Cozy atmosphere is conducive to dates with hip, but not clubby, music that allows for chatting. Great Service+++

My boyfriend rented out savor last week for a surprise birthday party and we had the greatest time. There were 20 or so people and everyone has been raving about the experience, so I figured I should write something. They had 8 or so hourdoivers (sp?) plus a great meat and cheese board, as well as tasty, fun desserts. Our wine glasses were always full and the staff really made it a special day. It is kind of cool when you can rent out an entire restaurant for your celebration, so you know the staff will be totally dedicated to you. Not sure of the total cost, but my boyfriend was very pleased with the deal we got. I highly recommend this place for your next special occasion.

The food is good, but not good enough to make up for the terrible atmosphere the owner creates. I've never seen someone so unhappy to have guests in their restaurant. I suppose that is why it almost always empty! It seems as though he is unable to hire a wait staff and, therefore, has to do it himself. Boy does he dislike serving people.
Very surprising someone like that would go into the restaurant business.

We hosted a wine tasting and tapas event for clients at SavorNY and could not have asked for a better venue. Craig and his team helped create a wonderful experience and I would absolutely head back with my wife and friends. The food was excellent and the portions were extremely generous. The wine menu was reasonably priced and had great selections (which Craig paired perfectly with our food). I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience and recommend SavorNY to all.

Cons: Lack of a full bar
Headed out to this place after reading a few reviews on here. The place is nice and cosy, but the seating is not too tight like other places in the city. The wait staff is very attentive, even though it was only two people. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. Average bottle is in the $30-$45 range. We picked three bottles and all three were EXCELLENT. You can tell that they put some thought into their selection.
The food is served tapas style, where it isnt huge quantities, but meant for sharing. Prices for the dishes were $8 - $15 range. Food presentation and flavor was a 10. I advise everyone to get the cheese/fruit platter as an appetizer prior to ordering your food. Well worth it and fairly priced!
Overall, if you're looking for a date spot, or a quiet place where you and your friends want to sit back and enjoy, then this is the place for you.

Went to this tapas/wine tasting room to start the night of partying. The services was timely and the food was great. This is definately a place to go with girlfirends or datenight. All the finger and fork dishes or tatey and the dessert was out of this world.

Visited the restaurant yesterday for the first time. The food was fantastic, the wine was even better. The place is super tiny but very cozy. Service was impeccable. It's been a long time since I visited a place like that where everything just fell into place. Will definitely return for "seconds".

I have been a regular since these guys opened and just found out that they rent the place out for private brunches for an unbelievably reasonable priced. We only had 13 or 14 people in our group, so I was a little surprised that they gave us the whole room without a room charge. With tax and tip, it was about $50 per person and we had unlimited bloody mary's and didn't have to deal with the riff raff of the LES brunch spots. Don't know if it because of the economy or because they are normally closed on Sundays, but I fee like it was a great deal. Apparently, they have similar pricing for Sunday dinners. Definitely worth checking out.

Pros: Private Brunch, Reasonable Pricing
Cons: Too Much Drinking
The food is very good and the wine list is very reasonable and has enough depth to meet most demands. But the reason for my post is the exceptional treatment of my date and i on a packed friday night complete with a rawckus birthday party taking up about 10 seats behind us. The lone waiter, bartender, host, somelier...whatever, he was the only person i saw working in the place and we were there from 9:30 till 1 AM....was awesome. He was thoughful and active and i wont go too much into detail but he helped the night along immensely. Complete with politely moving us away from the noise as space became available (initiated by him, we didnt ask) and providing a masterful soundtrack for the evening...we loved it, thanks dude.

Pros: service service service
Cons: tight space when crowded
I have eaten here a couple of times over the past year and just recently had my best experience of all. We ordered 6 things (a little more than we needed), so the waiter offered to split everything into 3 course and helped us with wine pairings for each course. He expertly paired wines with the different cuisines of each course and gave us a complimentary dessert wine after the meal - we were too stuffed for dessert. I have been here with big groups and with 2 other couples on 2 other occasions, but the personal attention we got during this meal made it our best experience so far. Can't wait to go back

Recently had a private party for 25 people here and was pleasantly surprised with all aspects of the event. Staff was super attentive and the food was really flavorful and unique without being weird - if that makes sense? I have been to a lot of parties similar to the one I hosted here and few have been run so smoothly. All of my friends have been praising my selection for the last few weeks. Not to mention, the price was very reasonable and they are flexible with price if you are flexible with the time you are willing to start.

Tried them out based on a friend's recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. The space is very unassuming, but felt really warm and were treated well by staff. This is not your typical tapas place - most dishes have portions more like appetizers (5 was enough for 2 of us). Wines were tasty and reasonably priced and they also had a featured cocktail - Mango Margarita. The service was extremely attentive and hospitable, so much so that I am planning a private birthday party here in June.

Cons: Limited Seating
Had a reservation for 7PM when I arrived we had the place to ourselves. The restaurant is really small and cozy. Had a great wine selection. I highly recommend eating Speck Wrapped Pear, Ginger Chili Chicken ,Wagyu Beef and Citrus Tuna.
The only thing I didnt like was the stuffed calamari which had no taste. Overall really great restaurant. We skipped the desert here and went to the Cocoa Bar a block away which was also very good. They had a really hot waiter.

Normally, I am not the type to write these things and I usually don't go to the same restaurant more than once, but this restaurant does such a great job that I feel the need. I first came for a friend's surprise birthday for a group of 12 and had a phenomenal time. Since then my boyfriend and I have been back two or 3 times for dinner or wine at the cozy bar. The wine selection is varied, but the staff is very comfortable helping you find exactly what you are looking for. The food is unique and all of the different flavors amazingly work well together. I love the vegetable samosas and the sticky pork. The staff is friendly and attentive, but not intrusive, which is sometimes tough in a small space. Truly a great LES experience.

Pros: Food, Service, Space
Cons: Gets a Little Cramped on Weekends
Was walking by last night and noticed they offer a buy one get one free wine promotion on Monday nites. Figured it couldn't be too bad, especially with that much wine for 2 of us. The food was surprisingly good, the service was truly hospitable and the wine recommendations were on point. Loved the sausage dish and duck wontons. Definitely a place to try if you like wine and sampling different types of food on one menu.

Pros: Free Wine & Great Food
Cons: Not the Biggest Restaurant
I recently hosted a bridal shower party for my sister-in-law here and I was so impressed with the event that I just had to right a reivew. To start, the price was very reasonable - about $1200 with tax and tip for 25 of us. We had the whole place to ourselves and they were soooo prepared for everything. The food was very tasty and plentiful and the service met our every need. I basically chose the place on a whim, as it was so very cute when I walked by, but all of my guests raved about the experience for days after. If personal attention and exquisite service are what you are looking for, check SavorNY out for your next party.

They have a great selection of wines that are reasonably priced and the pours are tremendous - probably 6 oz. Had a few plates at the bar and was really impressed with the quality of food for the price. The service was incredibly attentive on a busy nite and the bartender even poured a free taste of another wine I was contemplating ordering. Definitely a good place to go on a date or to catch up with a friend, as they don't rush you out.

Cons: Gets a little crowded on the weekend
Came out here for dinner, and was left feeling a bit disappointed. The staff is very good and friendly, the space is TINY (much smaller than I expected--prob fits less than 30 people). Those things I did not have a problem with. The food on the other hand...was not as great as I thought it would be. We tried many dishes and out of the 10-12 we ordered, I think only 2 were pretty good--the bbq duck and the spicy chicken. the other dishes were okay. i didn't think they were that flavorful or as tasty as i thought it would be. and some of the noodles we had were kinda hard. It's a nice spot for a date, or to rent it out for just your friends, but for group dining, def head somewhere else. it is all tapas so the portions are small to share to begin with, and since not that many dishes are that great, i'd say go try somewhere else...maybe it was an off night but wasn't impressed.

My boss choose this place to host our Christmas party and I was really impressed with the great job they did. The food was delicious and abundant (almost too much!!). Service didn't miss a beat and the wine selections were great - not sure if it was my boss or the staff that selected. We were a group of 22, so we had the whole place to ourselves. Will definitely be back in smaller group or for a future celebration. KUDOS TO THE STAFF

Cons: Small Room
Really great feeling - that somes it up for me. The food is always tasty and I find the prices to be more than reasonable. I have been on a couple of occasions - when it was packed and when it was slow and the restaurant always gives off a great energy. Music is fun, but not too loud and the wine prices are very good. The staff really seems to care about people dining there or at least it seems that way. It has become my favorite on the LES.

Cons: Small Dining Room - Fills up Quickly
The food here is really unique and has a ton of flavor. Prices don't break the bank and the level of service is very good for such a small restaurant. Space is very intimate, but there were also a couple of larger groups. don't skip out on the chocolate cake for dessert.

Went for a dinner party here last week. Food was good but not memorable. Wines were nice. We averaged maybe 4-5 plates and about 3 glasses of wine each. $85 per person ! Wow..I mean I've paid this before but at really upscale restaurants. I can't say I will go back anytime soon nor would I highly recommend it for a party.

Had my wife's surprise 35th birthday here last week and they did an awesome job. Meal was plentiful and we got a special wine pricing option that basically allowed us an open wine bar for the duration of the meal. The service was very professional and made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant even though there were a bunch of people on dates. For a party of 10, the meal ran about $700 including tip and we were full and borderline drunk when we left. Due to the hospitable staff and tasty food, we are actual having our Thanksgiving dinner here and renting out the entire restaurant.

Couldn't get a reservation here last Saturday night, but decided to walk in for a big date I had. The staff was gracious and the wait was only about 20 minutes, even though they said it would be half an hour. Once seated we were well taken care of and got to try a bunch of fun wines and 5-6 unique plates. The music was great and we enjoyed all aspects of the evening. Highly recommended for a date.

I have been here a couple of times since they opened, as I live in the area and decided to see if they could host my girlfriend's 30th birthday last week. They did not dissappoint. The food was as good and as flavorful for our party of 10, as if there were only 2 of us dining. You have to go off of a pre-selected menu, but the portions are great and the price is very reasonable. We even got a discount by picking out wines before-hand. Very attentive service and the crowd is cool, not young annoying kids like you sometimes get on the LES. Highly recommended.

Ate here last Monday night and really enjoyed the food. It is flavorful, but not overpowering. Apparently they give away a second bottle of wine every Monday nite if you eat dinner. The service was attentive and polite. Will defintely be back soon.

Went to a friends bday party for a group of 10 last week and these guys rocked it. Food was tasty and abundant. Our water and wine were always full. The music was great and the place had a fun vibe. Definitely recommend it for a celebration or even a date (the rest of the room was couples).

I have been here a couple of times and there is always a fun, good looking crowd, not to mention the great food. The server usually remembers what wine I drank last time and is able to make suggestions for new things to try. The place is small, so we usually end up talking to the table next to us and having a super time. It has become my favorite neighborhood place on the LES.

Girlfriend and I went for dinner last week and had a great time. The place is romantic, but also has a good energy to it (music is fun and varied). We tried 4 or 5 different dishes and especially loved the rice ball and empanadas. Server was always available, but not in your face. We got there on the early side 6:30 or 7 and it started filling up soon after we finished our second course. All the wines we tried were tasty and well priced.

Really had a fun time here on a Friday night. The place was busy, but we were well taken care of. The server didn't try to oversell us on many dishes as some tapas places do. 5 was more than enough for 2 people and they were less expensive and more filling than a lot of small plates restaurants. Tried some great wines that I was not familiar with, but they brought us tastes of everything we were unsure of. Ceviche was great and so was Chicken Dish. Had a really interesting spicy dessert that was stuffed in an roasted pepper. Perfect place for a date.

Tried this place on a recommendation from a friend this past weekend and we had a great time. I usually go to larger, more established restaurants, but the space had a real charm and the menu looked interesting to say the least. I do not consider myself a particularly adventurous diner, but we loved the cod falafel and the savory pear dish, as well as everything else we had. I was not overly familiar with the wines they offered, but all were impressively described by the waiter. I would definitely recommend the restaurant for somebody who likes professional service, but is looking for a more casual environment.

Tried this place based on great recommendations and my group loved it. The food is fun and easy to share. Unlike many tapas places, you actually get full for a reasonable amount - take the waiter's recommendations on what to order, quantity, etc. The wine list is pretty reasonably priced as well. They fill up quickly, but you never feel neglected, as the staff is always attentive and present. Get there early or you might night get in because I think they only have 25 seats.

I am normally not the type to write these types of reviews, as I am pretty lazy, but I had such a great time at this spot that I feel compelled. The food is unique and fun, especially the cod dish and the serrano ham rolls. Wines are reasonably priced and fun - not your typical pinot noir, merlot, chardonnay, etc. Service was above and beyond my expectations and the staff really made us feel welcome - which is not always the case in this city. I am tempted not to publicize how great this place is, but you can tell that whoever is running this business knows and cares about what they are doing. I will be back soon.

I am tempted not to publicize how great this place is, but you can tell that whoever is running this business knows and cares about what they are doing. I will be back soon.
Pros: Everything
Cons: Small Space
I came across this restaurant just wandering around the LES and went in because it was so inviting, intimate with just a few tables and a small bar. Turns out it's an awesome place for anyone who doesn't want to decide on just one thing to eat or drink. My friend and I shared five dishes...cutely divided into "fingers" and "forks" (who doesn't enjoy finger food!) and we each had a couple of different wines. All of the wines are available by the glass or the bottle and the waiter was helpful (but not pretentious) with suggestions. The food was great and all over the map in terms of taste, everything we had was declicious...from the bbq duck to the proscuitto wrapped pears. Also, the honey custard was possibly one of the best desserts I've ever had! This place is small and cute and great for a date or dinner with an old friend, I will definitly be back!

Pros: wine selection/ambiance
Cons: small...fillls up fast
This place is really one of a kind. The food has such a great combination of flavors from so many different cooking styles - Italian, Chinese, Mexican - all on the same menu. The wines are a great quality and value for the price. It is rare that you can get the great service they provide here without paying a fortune for dinner - I think our meal for two was around $90 with tip. The music is upbeat, without sounding like you are in a club. They really won us over, as we were very skeptical about the menu upon sitting down and we expressed this to the waiter. He handled our indecision and confusion with grace and provided a great meal. I think we will become regulars at this place, but I hope it doen't get too busy too quickly.

Pros: Service, Flavors, Wine Choices
Cons: Can See This Place Becoming Difficult to Get Into
Been meaning to try this place for some time since I live right down the street. My BF and I were pleasantly surprised by the food, value, and environment. The place is really tiny, but had a great vibe. Service was professional but not intrusive. I will definitely be back to try everything that is on the menu, but the duck, chicken, and rice ball were awesome for the first go-round

Pros: Variety of Menu and Inexpensive Wines
Cons: Fills up Quickly
Went there the other day with a couple of friends for the first time. Just walking by and took a look at the menu. Really liked what we saw and ended up having a great time. Food, wine, and especially the desserts made it a great experience. Can't wait to go back. Waiter was entertaining and attentive. Music also added a nice touch.

I have never written one of these before, but I had such a great time on a date here last weekend, I feel compelled. The food is great, the service is better, and the place had a great vibe. I loved everything I ate, especially the sausage and pear dish. The wines are really cheap for the quality and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely not your typical NYC experience, but every place should be like this restaurant.

Pros: Food, Wine, Service, Decor, Everything
Cons: Small Space, Gets Crowded Quickly
Unbelievable meal - they really went over the top. Service was with us on every step of the meal and the wines are great and cheap. Dishes they recommended - chicken, rice ball, pear, and empanadas - were varied but all worked well together. Server brough us complimentary dessert wine with our dessert. Will definitely be back soon.

Pros: Food, Wine, Value
Cons: Gets Tight When Full
Went on a recommendation from a friend. Loved the rice ball and duck dishes. Space is small, but the staff made us feel very welcome. I am not a big wine drinker, but they paired different glasses with each dish effortlessly. Even gave a free taste of white sangria at the end of the meal. Will definitely be back soon.

Pros: Food, Wine

We were walking around LES, found this delightful place. Everything we had was a great combiniation of flavors. The staff is very helpful with wine selections and the bill was very reasonable (under $100 with a bottle of wine, dessert, and tip). Get there early, as it gets busy quickly.

i've been in this place a few times so far and i really, really like it. it's smaller plates so you can taste many of different dishes and all of the wine can be done by the glass. last time, it was a wednesday (i think?!?) and surprisingly busy for later in the evening, but still amazing. it's not really tapas since it's not just spanish, but done really well and not pricey. the desserts are great as well, and my favorite is the custard! and if you don't try the sparkling rose then you're missing out.

Pros: wine list, good food, good prices
Cons: smaller space, can be tight during busy times
NY has many new faddish restaurants but this one is really different. All of the food we had was very good but also very diverse and that was a big PLUS for us, as we had different people w/ dietary restrictions. The wine was also great and we loved the deserts. Great for an intimate dinner or a party of a few - but it is a small space so call ahead of time.

Stopped by on a whim Friday night. The space was just filling up around 8:30 when we got there. The menu was literally all over the place - Italian, Jewish, Asian, Spanish - but everything we had was executed very well. Wines were extremely reasonable and service was on point. Salmon, pork, chicken and custard were some of the best combinations of flavor that I have had in a while. We were really impressed with the pricing - under $80 for five plates, dessert, and a great bottle of wine.

The first time I went to SavorNY I was a little skeptical about the menu - empanadas, szechuan, rice ball...seemed a little ambitious But the whole small plate thing makes the eclecticism manageable and turns the meal into kind of a voyage. It's become a standby for me (I crave the ruben empanadas about once a fortnight). At this point I've been four times and still haven't tasted all the plates. Favorites are ruben empanadas, serrano rolls and szechuan shrimp. The desserts are not the sticky-sweet cake variety - I've had the chocolate cake, coconut tapioca and honey custard and all three are subtle and delicious. The wine list is somewhat artificially broken out into flavor groups which is probably helpful if you don't know wines but trust your own knowledge if you do. It's pretty tiny so it can get a little loud when it's full. But overall it's food for foodies on a non-foody budget and minus the pretension.

Pros: food, wine
Cons: l'il noisy on busy nites
I came upon this place while wandering around the LES on a week night. To my surprise the overall experience was fantastic. The food was unique, polished, well-though out...and more importantly, delicious! I guess they call it..."ecclectic small-plates" (as the waiter informed me)....My friend and I ordered about 4/5 plates...encompassing all different cuisines...(yet it somehow worked together to form an amazing meal). Definately try the Ruben empanadas, scallop ceviche, and the speck wrapped pear. Oh...and for dessert I had the (simply mind-blowing) honey custard with sea salt and flatbread crisps dusted with sugar. I think its the best dessert I have ever eaten....(and I love dessert). This is a great place to show off to your friends....its hip, unpretentious, and they have great food and wine. As a new yorker... you rarely just "find" hidden gems...(they are usually written about first).....Im telling you...hurry on over to Clinton Street....you will be pleasantly surprised.
