Legacy advertises their neighborhoods as having pools, then drains the or does not maintain them at all after you have paid your fees. Yet they still advertise their neighborhoods as being a "swim/tennis" community. These guys are snake oil salesmen. Stay away.

Pros: Lots of house for the money

We closed on our home 4 months ago at Palmetto Farms in South Fulton and we are so so happy. We visited neighboring communities and they do not compare favorably at all. We first went to Crown and the agent was not only rude she talked very negative about Legacy and the other builders in the area Silvercreek and DR Horton. She really didn't say anything positive about her community so it made my husband and I wonder what was actually wrong with Crown. She lied and said that Palmetto Farms would have over 800 homes when actually they will have less than half of that amount. She said that Silver Creek's quality was poor. She said that DR Horton is going out of business, When I asked her about the Crown community at Broadstone all she could say is that they will have only 80 lots. Well needless to say we left and went to Silver Creek and Palmetto Farms. We purchased our home at Palmetto Farms, This community is beautiful. The agent at this community was very nice we toured their models and the agent talked about why we should buy a Legacy home and she did not say anything negative about her competitors in the area. We tried to ask her questions about them but she only talked about her community. Well we love our home, we had 1 warranty call and not only did they respond fast they took care of the matter and we have not had an issue since. When we were looking for our home we visited this site and we saw the negative and positive comments about Legacy and we wanted to look for ourselves. Well I am here to tell you that you will not be disappointed. Try Legacy at Palmetto Farms in South Fulton, the community is beautiful and the agents are nice.

Pros: BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPING, LARGE LOTS, BEAUTIFUL AMENITIES

Legacy Communities provides absolutely no value to the home buyer in terms of customer service. Their employees, both at the communities and in the corporate office, are extremely rude and unprofessional and their corporate ethics are highly questionable. It took constant nagging to have trash removed from under the stairwell in the home that was being built, did not install outlets, phone jacks, and cable outlets in a consistent manner across their homes in the same community, and their agents consistently misinform and outright lie. When complaining to the email address that THEY provided for concerns with their properties, I received no response and had to file a BB Bureau complaint to get anyone in the corporate office to take notice of our problems. What was their solution? They terminated our contract 4 days before our closing date because they said they did not think we would every be happy with the home. Keep in mind, however, that we have informed Legacy numerous times that we were very excited about the house, we just did not want trash, piles of sawdust, unused drywall, and coaxial cable under our stairs and we wished to be provide with at least a little bit of customer service. It is obvious that they could not provide the latter and terminated. For anyone considering a Legacy Communities home, pay special attention to Section 19 of their contract that states that they can terminate for any reason they wish at any time. If you try and do that you will forgo your earnest money. If you still think that a Legacy home is what you want, just make sure to not ask for anything, including trash removal, consistency between homes, a call from corporate, competent staff on-site at the community, the truth, or anything that can be construed as being difficult or you too can have your contract terminated days before closing. Buyer Beware!!
