I have to commend Mark Ingram for his gorgeous bridal salon and well run business. I worked with Fatimah, who amazed me with her knowledge and ability to help a bride who wanted something very high fashion on a budget. She worked with me to purchase the dress I really wanted by buying the showroom sample. Mark Ingram himself made a personal appearance to see and comment on the gowns as I was trying on, and there were no high pressure sales tactics from anyone!
I would recommend Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier for any bride who wants the true "Old New York Upper East Side" classy experience without attitude. I had my gown shipped and it arrived in perfect condition, on a bust form and stuffed perfectly.
Thank you to everyone at Mark Ingram for the perfect gown and the perfect experience!

Pros: wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable staff
Cons: high pricepoints
If you are not planning to spend less than $4000 there I wouldn't waste time, as $4-6k is their lower range as I was told by consultant Anju. She was very nice and attentive and even though my budget was around $3000, did her best, found and brought out few gowns, close to the style I described. I will probably otp for one of the cheaper brands in the end, and buy the dress elsewhere, but overall impression was good.

Pros: service
Cons: expensive brands (if they don't fit your budget obviously)
After reading the previous review, about the complaint over a $10 bag, I just had to write my own review of Mark Ingram. I was at the sample sale as well and had no problem spending an extra $10 on a garment bag (not a "dust" bag....it was a nice, thick, white zippered garment bag). I've had 2 friends purchase their gowns at the Bridal Atelier and from the initial appointment all the way to the final fitting, they were both thrilled with everyone at Mark Ingram's. And of course, when they picked their gowns up right before their weddings, the gowns were stuffed beautifully and zipped up in garment bags. Paying for a bag is only a sample sale thing!
I feel like the Bridal Atelier is one of the few salons that perfectly mixes high end style and service with a genuine, friendly energy and I just can't say enough about them. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

After favorable service from most of the stylists on a potential wedding gown, the final staff member who rang up the register wanted ten dollars, yes ten dollars, for a dust bag. How incredibly penny wise and pound foolish was it to focus on getting an extra $10 on top of a dress that costs several thousand?! I mean, the Gap will provide a garment bag with the purchase of a $50 dress. So after I requested for her to ask the owner Mark for a waiver of the bag fee, this salesperson instead took a coffee break at the opposite end of the studio, and returned to request for the extra money. Needless to say, I purchased my gown already, but from a place where service and the proverbial buck did not stop at the register.

Pros: Another option for dresses
Cons: Customer service, staff etiquette
Although I ended up NOT buying my bridal gown at Mark Ingram, I still find it necessary to comment on the wonderful service. Kelsey was such a great consultant - she listened to my every word. Each gown she selected looked wonderful on me, and was exactly what I wanted. She is a wonderful listener and understands the customers' requests.

After visits to Kleinfeld's, Vera Wang, and Nicole Miller, I was frustrated both with the service and/or selection at the other bridal salons. The last appointment I had was at Mark Ingram, and it was such a breath of fresh air. Lidia was amazingly knowlegable about dresses, designers, etc...and she has impeccable taste. I ended up purchasing a gorgeous Monique Lhuilier gown that was about half the price I had budgeted for. Despite the fact that I had not spent 10,000.00, I was treated exceptionally well by all of the staff. I highly recommend Mark Ingram and especially Lidia. You won't be disappointed!

I had a horrible experience with this salon where I bought my Jenny Lee dress this summer, and would urge brides to seriously consider making such an importantnot to mention expensive--purchase at this boutique. Both their custom service and their treatment of my gown were atrocious and inexcusable. I found the staff quite courteous and helpful when I was shopping for the dress, yet once they received our down payment, the problems began. At my first fitting, I found that they made a mistake while measuring me and ordered my dress too shortso short, in fact, that it could not be remedied by letting down a hem. To their credit, they had a second dress made for me, yet they still charged us extra for the alterations even though the mistake was theirs. When we picked up the dress a week before the wedding, a member of the staff had me sign off on the dress while it was still wrapped in two layers of plastic which she instructed me not to remove until the day of the wedding. The morning of, I unwrapped the dress only to find noticeable burn marks from their iron down the front. I expected more from a boutique of this caliber, and certainly better treatment of my $4,000 gown. While their dresses are beautiful, their staff is rude, incompetent, and unprofessional at best, and I would highly recommend brides go elsewhere.

I went to this salon originally because they were having a trunk show for Romona Keveza, whose dress I was interested in, after a bad experience at Kleinfeld (rude staff, assembly line like atmosphere...). I was completed satisfied with Mark Ingram's shop and staff - it was a very pleasant experience, including the fittings and the final delivery of the dress. Mark Ingram's staff is courteous, knowledgeable, welcoming, and professional. They also have a great selection, even for a boutique shop. I would recommend this shop to all brides.

Pros: staff, ambiance, selection
Charming boutique with staff just as charming. Great selection of designer gowns and accessories. A wonderful experience that I recommend to anyone looking for a high end salon with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere
