My wife and I were looking to do some renovation on our townhome to sell. While doing the renoviation we've had issues come up including recalled electrical panel, furnace and A/C cleaning and some plumbing issues. Applewood has been an excellent one stop shop to solving the problems. The technicians and courteous and very well knowledgeable about their subjects and they thought out of the box too in one case! I recommend them to anyone doing any electrical, plumbing or heating and A/C needed.

I have used Applewood Plumbing and Heating to gain information and for service on our Heating and Air Conditioning. The technician Chris Anderson is awesome. Very professional, knowledgable, helpful and friendly. He installed a new air conditioning unit for us and has also serviced our furnace a couple of times. I will not hesitate to call Applewood for regular service or for middle of the night emergencies. I love that I can ask for the same service technician each time. I would recommend them to anyone!

I began using Applewood over a year ago and decided to join their membership program. The results have been phenominal and the savings, great! \r\n\r\nPart of the membership is an in-house assestment of your plumbing, heating and electrical systems. This saved me certain money as i had a leaking/eroded pipe that could have gone anyday. Plus, with membership you don't pay the standard rates. \r\n\r\nI will continue using Applewood in the future.\r\n\r\nNick

The booking , communication and repair experience were excellent--all extremely professional! The only surprise was what I actually had to pay to have a switch replaced; I really had no idea what it costs to hire an electrician nowadays!! I hope it's a loooooong time before I have to hire another one!

I was in need of a new heating ignitor for my forced air furnace. I called Appledwood at 8 AM on a Monday morning and by 11 AM i had technician at my home performing a diagnostic. Within an hour or so we were up an running with a new heating element, a cleaned up furnance and a new air filter (at no charge). \r\n\r\nApplewood was timely, efficient and provided diagnostic checklist of other things to consider about maintaining our furnace.\r\n\r\nI signed up for an annual service package and will have Applewood return in the spring to service our AC.

I had Applewood come out a few times for some plumbing issues and they were always prompt and professional. I decided to spend the $198. for the contract in Dec. I got a call in March that I get a ""free"" furnace cleaning with my contract. Instead of cleaning my furnace they almost cleaned out my bank. I was told I needed a new furnace - which I will agree I do because of the age. But I was also told my furnace was leaking carbon monoxide and that it needed to be replaced immediately. This was a Tuesday and he could have it for me by Friday. Then the price: $5200 not including labor. I live in a 2 bedroom condo. And they even have financing available. Luckily I shopped around and will have the job done for thousands less by a good company. I'm mad about the price, but even madder that they used scare tactics to steal my money.

In the last year I have had to call Applewood for service on several issues: ice maker, clogged garbage disposal, air conditioner, water heater. Each time they have sent someone out quickly and they are always timely, pleasant, experienced and helpful. They give you full pricing before any work is done and call you after to make sure you were happy with the repairs. I would recommend Applewood to anyone!

This company is a joke. We had an appointment ste for Wednesday between 4-6PM. They call us at about 2:00, after I had already made plans with work to leave, and they tell us they cannot make it. They would have to come out Friday instead. \r\n\r\nBut here's the catch, we had to call Friday morning to make an appointment. So we call 1st thing in the morning and are forced to leave a message. 4 hours later and no phone call from them. We finally call back and they tell us we have to wait another day until they will come out. \r\n\r\nSo we have had a possible gas leak since Wednesday and because of their failure to uphold their scheduled appointments I'm hoping my family doesn't die.\r\n\r\nCONTINUED::: So thie company just called me again and canceled a second time. They said because someone with children called in with no heat. OK, me and my kids have a possible gas leak. This company is the biggest joke I have ever seen. \r\n\r\nThe Better Business Bureau is definitely getting a call from me.

I would refer all of my friends and family to Applewood! The technician that came to service my heater was very knowledgeable about his work and took the time to explain all the issues to me before any work was done! I also was very impressed with the way that Applewood sent a technician out to my house on a late night last minute call. The overall experience was fantastic! We had a guide put in our local newspaper entitled "Done Right Directory." We had good luck with other experiences for repairs so we saw Applewood and called. Our plumbing problem was serious and the master plumber (John Jones) made sure our finished basement would not get flooded. He had to dig a 6' hole to fix the problem. He worked day and night. He left the work areas clean. Our plumbing problem was fixed perfectly and was to code.

The technician was prompt, professional and did the job. But the $143 minimum service fee was a little much, especially considering that the it was just a loose wire. They ""waived"" the $39 service charge, so I guess it could have been worse..\n \nI think an adequate charge would have been $80.

I had no heat and called Applewood and there were there the same day and on the time that was stated. They called ahead and was willing to send credentials of the technician. Then a follow up phone call was immediate after the job was completed.\r\n\r\nApplewood's number 1 priority is for the customer.\r\n \r\nI would recommend Applewood to any of my friends or neighbors.\r\n\r\nK Parks

This company was great from start to finish. I like the upfront per job pricing they offer and the tune up special made the price right for the work.\r\n\r\nOn the day of my scheduled work, they worked with their dispatchers to provide an advance phone call letting me remain at work until they had a person ready. \r\n\r\nTheir service tech answered all my questions accurately and clearly explained what was going on with my heating system as well as how to make minor and cost effective improvements. Overall very happy and impressed with the work that was completed.

We had a problem with the water shut off knob to our sprinkler system. When we turned the knob to shut it off, water began dripping around the knob. Called Applewood on Monday, the plumber arrived 2 hours later, had to replace knob, cut and add some pipe. Older home ('77), finished basement & where the pipes/valves were located, caused a minor problem. Dave was professional, knowledgeable and considerate, (wore shoe covers), covered the work area to protect the carpet. He explained what he was doing and had some suggestions for preventative maintenance. Will definitely use Applewood again!!!

Totally satisfied with the experience. Visit was for furnace work. Courteous, efficient initial telephone contact. The technician arrived as scheduled. He was courteous and knowledgeable. Upon completion of the work he answered several questions I had on additional furnace/air conditioning subjects and other matters. I felt I knew a lot about the company when he left and intend to use Applewood again in the future. The price was fair. There are other companies who might do the work cheaper. But, Applewood has a nice track record, is licensed, bonded and insured, with a guarantee on repairs and installation. You get what you pay for. I was able to split the payment between check and credit card -- very convenient. Received a followup call the same day as service to determine our satisfaction. Would recommend Applewood heating work to others.

Ken from Applewood was very knowledgeable and gave us a quote up front after assessing the situation but before beginning work. He explained everything clearly and made recommendations but wasn't pushy. He was honest and I felt that he fixed my plumbing issue without breaking my budget or trying to talk me into unnecessary projects. I will be calling Applewood again for any future plumbing needs.

I needed some plumbing help that I couldn't do myself and let my fingers do the walking and saw the ad for Applewood Plumbing. Their ad was clear concise and said everything I needed to know so I called them to set up an appointment to get an estimate. They were very courteous and even waved the appointment fee. The day of my appointment Applewood called me about an hour before their representative was to arrive and sent me a picture and the credentials of the Master Plumber who would be coming to my house. That was a big plus for me! When he arrive he introduced himself and was very professional, informative, polite, and told me everything I needed to know about what needed to be done. I had spoken to a couple other companies and they all were within $10.00 - $15.00 of each other so I decided to go with Applewood and I'm glad I did as I also received a 2 year warranty on the work that was done. I will definitely call on Applewood Plumbing, Heating/AC, and Electrical the next time I need help in those areas!

$311.90 for rooter service in kitchen sink drain. Half and hour of work. I asked for an estimate when I scheduled the appt. Was told that the plumber would evaluate the work and then quote a price. Plumber sees standard kitchen sink drain, opens book to standard kitchen drain cleaning. Dishonest Dispatcher could have told me that price, but then I would have called some other company. Now, I'm on the hook for $39 appt. fee plus two hours off of work. Do I take off two more hours tomorrow or just eat this one? I can't believe they have so many good reviews here. Probably from their commission based employees....They won't fool me again.

I called Applewood to fix a leak in my boy's bedroom. They sent a very smart, well dressed technician - very prompt to my home. First you will notice two things - one price if you become a member and the other if your answer was No! They have a book they claim with every possible price so no one gets treated unfairly with their costs. Look up - making hole in ceiling to find link. $136 and some odd change and at the point the ceiling had so much water damage if fell down when touched. To replace the leak $445.oo. Too replace two leaky facuets in bedrooms - $168 plus for set of one. I only needed one side fixed so said NO - use the other side for the other sink not buying two complete sets - he said ""ok"" but no guarantee. $168.00 - that is not to replace the handle - just put some new plastic pieces inside. \r\n\r\nDid you ever stay at a hotel and service was great - room smaller than expected and carpet old, furniture and you knew the room wasn't worth the price. This is Applewood. Oh, yes, here is the good one - since they do air contioning had them send over AC guy. Needed new motor - $1,129 if member $958.00 (membership $199.00 per year). I said - NO, I am going to call my guy at Mountain Breeze Heating and Air. $384.00 plus labor. He was like - well, they probably don't use the right motor, etc, etc. $1,129 verses $384.oo -Gee, let me think - you guys are crazy. It was then I realized I got ripped off for the plumbing. PLEASE GET TWO ESTIMATES. Pay the service charge - but get two estimates. Also, needed something for for compression between my electric water heaters - $445.00. Mountain Breeze $250.00. Luckily, Mountain Breeze replaced my motor and other part for $764 or something. Applewood would have cost me over $1800.\r\n\r\nNow, this is what I have learned -- they work on COMMISSION - NO SALARY. NOW YOU KNOW WHY THEY ARE SO EXPENSIVE -\r\n\r\nDon't be fooled by the booties and clean cut guys -- DO NOT USE OR GET ANOTHER ESTIMATE TO MAKE SURE IN RIGHT PRICE RANGE OF OTHER COMPANIES.\r\nwORK - A FOUR RATING - EVERYTHING ELSE A ONE.\r\n\r\n

We used Applewood Plbg. & Htg. for the first time this wk. Our central a/c needed repair. With the heat we're having, we expected a delay in getting it repaired. Within 4 hrs. of our call, a highly experienced tech was at our house to fix the problem. He did an excellent job & went above the level of quality in doing the job. He also fixed a broken toilet. The part he needed was not on his truck. He called the company & Applewood delivered the part to him so he could fix it the same time he was here saving us another service call.

I called Applewood late on a Thursday afternoon with a problematic AC unit and they sent a guy out within the hour where the other 3 HVAC people I called said it could be up to 2 weeks. The technician was friendly, worked quickly to find the issue, explained my options, and completed the work quickly. He even cleaned up after himself! I have never written a service review in my life but couldn?t pass these guys up. USE THEM!

I called Applewood because I had a lead between the water meter at the street and my home.\r\nWhen the service person came to my house I had already dug 4 ft of a hole in my front yard.\r\nI told him what the problem was. I asked if he could locate the leak. He said they normally just dig a hole near the meter and a hole near the house and run a new line. Hmmmm. So he got on the phone and talked to someone else - said the house was no more than 40 ft from meter (it is actually 30 - no he never bothered to get a measuring tape. In fact he never stepped off the sidewalk.) Yet- he quoted me a price of $10,281.25. What a lunatic.\r\nI was already 4 ft down so I kept digging. Another 2 ft and I reached the water line and some water. Started digging 6 inches under the waterline and learned the leak was coming from a valve where the sprinker hooks into the main. The main did not have a leak at all. $160 in parts and the problem is fixed.\r\nIf I would have been stupid enought to tell the Applewood jokers to go ahead and do the work without any troubleshooting whatsoever I would be out over 10K.\r\nI for one will never again call this company for any reason and would recommend that if you do- you also get others to give you some troubleshooting detection not just a blind guess and insanely high estimate.

Pros: Look professional

Cons: Insane price estimates. Out to get people.

They were all really nice -- BUT, I paid $199 for a $10 part and 10 minutes of labor. I should have used my instinct and bought the stem and stem socket set at Ace for $25 total.

We have used Applewood plumbers, technicians, electricians for several years now and they just keep getting better. Our most recent call was for a leaking toilet. I wanted to fix this one myself but after carefully looking it over I could see it really required the services of a plumber. Someone with expert training! The toilet was old (1950's) and the tank and drain seals were deteriorated badly. Applewood immediately scheduled a plumber to come out on a Saturday. They emailed me the photo and credentials of Chad M. He was very prompt, wore booties, and protected the floor and walls with paper drapes carefully as he worked. He first checked our water pressure and hot water heater as a safety measure. Then he asked if we wanted to repair or replace our faulty old toilet. At first I wanted to keep the old porcelain beast. But once the toilet tank was removed it was obvious there was no way that we would feel comfortable putting back together an old antique water guzzler. So Chad gave us the estimate for a replacement with guarantee and he also repaired a leaky faucet as part of his service. Now we have a sparkling lovely new toilet that flushes fantastically (and it's a water-saver!). Each time that we have called Applewood we've gotten courteous and professional service. Our journeyman plumber Chad was very neatly dressed in a clean uniform, explained everything clearly and knowledgeably beforehand, giving us written estimates, and was able to quickly solve our problems several hours before our company arrived---at no extra charge! We will continue to use Applewood knowing that they do a professional job right. \r\n

Everything about my experience with Applewood was great. They got me on their schecule for the next day. They called and were able to come to my home earlier than what was scheduled. The repairman was very knowledgable and tried the simple fixes first but it ended up being the motor on the condensor. What was really great was he had the parts in his truck so there was no waiting for parts to arrive. He was very curtious and expllained everything that he was doing. After the repairs were complete he even took the time to discuss other issues we had been having with our heating system. It was a good all around experience. Great job.

The plumber was experienced and made a quick diagnosis of my system and how to fix the problems.. He took the time to install lines so that it was not an eye sore. The whole repair was completed quickly. He also provided tips on operation and maintenance. I would refer my best frien to them.

We had our roof replaced and, in that process, our attic fan was damaged and replaced with a solar powered one. It never worked and the Roofing Contractor sent Mike Taglialavore from Applewood Plumbing & Heating. He asked a few questions and understood my concerns. While fixing the attic fan, he discovered a potentially dangerous situation. The wire from the damaged fan was hanging from the roof, still live !! He capped the wire and put it in a junction box, situation DONE !! Everything is running like it should be. \r\nThank You Mike !

I needed a basic AC Tune-up and cleaning service done since I'd neglected to do so for the past 5 years. I called around to several local companies and decided on Applewood - I'm glad I did. They were willing to work with my schedule and got me an appointment the same week even though this was not an emergency issue. Other companies were telling me about 2 weeks out. In addition I saw an online Tom Martino video specifically about AC tuneups and the extensive checklist they go through. They were running a special so the price was great.\r\n\r\nWithout a doubt, the best service call I have ever experienced. They called within an hour of the technician getting here to let me know he would arrive soon. Then asked if I would like an email with the picture and certifications. I said absolutely. Within seconds I was reading an impressive list of qualifications and seeing the picture of the person who would be doing the work. He arrived in the planned time window and got right to work. Extremely professional and he did an excellent job. When everything was finished he went over everything he had done and showed me on a written checklist and answered all the questions I had. \r\n\r\nI have had many service techs out to my house over the years for various reasons and I can without a doubt say Applewood gave me the best impression and customer service. They went beyond what was necessary and I will be doing business with them in the future. I'm running the AC right now and it's working great!\r\n

Applewood was very prompt and thorough. They called an hour ahead to indicate they would e-mail a photo and credentials of the technician who would be coming to our home. We had both the AC and Furnace inspected and a maintenance check. Art, the technician was very thorough and provided advice and information. We had questions about the whole-house humidifier and got specific detailed information. The technician made recommendations without a ""hard-sell"". \r\n\r\nReceived a follow up phone call to ensure all questions had been satisactorily answered.

As a Club member, Applewood contacts you to schedule free routine inspections. My A/C was recently inspected and needed no fixes - which I expected since it was installed last year by Applewood. I also had an electrical inspection which I appreciated since I have an older house. The tech listed a few items that could be updated but, after questioning, agreed that none were life-threatening. These items were really ""if I want to"" items and nothing that needed attention now. Good to know. The free inspections offset the price of the Club membership and are worthwhile.

They must be hiring people to write some of these reviews...\r\nI needed to have a shower faucet replaced in a renovated bathroom we were doing. The valve was exposed (no walls) so it was easy access to replace. I know enough about plumbing that this is a one to two hour job at the most. We sat down to get the quote and almost had a heart attack. I almost laughed in his face. I actually told him how ridiculous his price was? 1,100 dollars. I ask him if he was crazy that he was charging 500 plus an hr to replace a simple shower fixture. Called a local plumber in Parker, came out the next morning and did the whole thing in an hour and charged me 150 bucks. The real thing I am pizzed about is the 39$ service fee I had to pay to get some out of the world quote?..Don?t waste your money

I called the Applewood plumbing & heating after being told by excel energy that my ""no heat"" problem was not something they could fix. I called Applewood to see if a technician could come out, thinking that the $99 dollar service fee would be nothing compared to being warm. \r\nBOY WAS I WRONG!! the on call customer service representative who answered the phone must have forgotten who she worked for or why someone would be calling at this time of night (WE'RE COLD), then when I DID receive a call from the on call technician, he informed me that he ran out of invoices and it would be a $99 service charge ( I KNEW THAT), and that I would basically need to wait until the hours of 6-7 am on Thursday morning. I went on line and seen RAVE reviews and decided.... I'll call back and maybe someone else is working and will come get me some heat in my home.... The SAME woman answered telling me that the guy was the ONLY technician working and whatever he said was what I needed to do. DID I MOVE TO THE WRONG ZIP CODE? IS THERE BAD RELATIONSHIPS WITH APPLEWOOD AND THIS AREA? WILL I EVER EXPERIENCE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MONTBELLO?

After the hail storm in July 2009, I hired a local roofing company to fix my roof. The roof was completed in April 2010. After one of the cold spells we had in April, I tried to turn on my furnace but it would not come on. I called Applewood to come and look at the furnace. After the Applewood tech looked at my furnace he noticed that the back pressure sensor in the exhaust vent was tripped and that is what caused it to shut off. The Applewood tech climbed on the roof and discovered that the roofers had completely closed the vent for the furnace exhaust, causing the back pressure switch to shut off. This could have been a deadly situation from the Carbon Monoxide being produced by my water heater being trapped by the closed vent on the roof. (The furnace and the water heater use the same vent.) The Applewood Tech fixed the vent and quite possibly adverted a catastrophe in my home from Carbon Monoxide poisoning. THANK YOU!

I had great service from Applewood Plumbing. I had a clogged pipe connected to my washer. Levi was very helpful in explaing why the pipe continued to back up and what was necessary in repairing it. Levi did a great job repairing the pipe and I now can do laundry without the worry of water backing up and making a mess of my house. I will definitely use Applewood again for plumbing needs.

April 26, 2010\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nApplewood Plumbing Heating & Electric\r\n5000 W 29TH Avenue\r\nDenver, CO 80212-9802\r\n\r\nRe:\tDavid Bright\r\n\tMaster Plumber\r\n\r\nDear Applewood:\r\n\r\nI seldom take the opportunity to compliment and provide feedback for service representatives; however, in the case of David Bright I would be negligent if I did not do so. \r\n\r\nDavid is a very professional and personable representative for Applewood. He not only addressed our needs for our service call, he went the extra mile to suggest methods for ongoing maintenance and preventative care. Although there were items that I have little doubt that most plumbers would have repaired without a second thought, David provided alternative actions that we could take that resulted in no repairs and zero expense for the service that Applewood provided on this date.\r\n\r\nYour policy of not charging a service call fee is refreshing and sends a message for intent to do the right thing for the customer. You completely complete the service circle with a service representative such as David Bright.\r\n\r\nThank you very much and rest assured that we will be an ongoing loyal customer and will welcome the opportunity to refer Applewood.\r\n\r\nSincerely,\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThomas M. I asked Applewood for an estimate to run 5 feet of gas line. The service tech did a site survey, went to his truck and returned with a $14k estimate. Stunned to say the least. His assessment was the entire line needed replacing with some new TracPiping. Even replacing all the lines with new Black Pipe would only result in 40 feet of pipe to remove and replace. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Does Applewood take everyone for a fool? Not cool at all. Ended up using another plumbing service and spending under $1000 to have all the piping replaced. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY> BANDITS would be a nice word for them.

Our 22 year old furnace began making some noise on a recent Saturday. Remembering seeing orange Applewood trucks in the past, I checked them out on the BBB website and decided to give them a call. A gentleman named Chris took my call and scheduled me for the following morning (a Sunday and no additional weekend service charge). Sunday morning Chris called to say the tech was on his way and that he would be happy to e-mail me his picture and qualification. Marty arrived right on time. After putting on his plastic shoe covers to protect our floors he quickly assessed the problem and had it corrected in short order.\r\nIt doesn't seem often enough that you find truly professional service people; that take pride in their work; do what is necessary and don't try to sell you unnecessary services.\r\nI will not hesitate to recommend Applewood to anyone in need of their services. It feels great to be treated with respect!

I thought I had one relatively simple plumbing problem, but unfortunately there were a number of things that needed to be fixed. I appreciated that they stayed and did all the work the same day instead of having to schedule the work for another day. I was especially happy with the plumber, Greg. He was extremely polite and worked about 9 hours virtually non-stop. I needed a number of different parts and if Greg didn't have all of them in his truck, someone else delivered them so the work could be completed timely and very efficiently.

After recently breaking her hip, my mother-in-law moved to a senior living center and put her 3 bedroom town home up for sale. Her townhome was under contract very quickly and an inspection was scheduled. The inspector looked at her 35 year old boiler system and said that it needed cleaning and adjusting. My mother-in-law had always used a nationally affiliated company to service her furnace and we called them and set up an appointment. My wife met the ?tech? that came out at the town home. After a couple of minutes in the furnace closet, he told my wife he needed to show her something. Flames were rolling out of the boiler unit and the pressure on the expansion chamber was too high. He told her the entire unit needed to be replaced, that the furnace was unsafe to leave on and he shut it off. Cost of replacement after negotiation, $ 7500.\r\n\r\nWe didn?t feel comfortable spending $ 7500, almost 10% of the cost of the home for a replacement unit. Thankfully we chose to call Applewood Plumbing and Heating, partly because of their local reputation and partly because they were open early. My 6 AM phone call resulted in an 8 AM appointment. Their technician was on time, cleanly dressed and very courteous. Initially he was concerned about the cold reading on the expansion tank, but went ahead and re-ignited the pilot light. The flames came leaping out again and he realized the gas valve was open all the way. After adjusting the valve, the flame burned normally. He shook his head and said ?oldest trick in the book?. It turned out that the cold water pressure on the expansion chamber also returned to a normal range after adjustment. The unit came up to operating temperature and worked perfectly. Total cost of the service call, less than $ 200. Relief at not having to go through the cost of replacement and finding an honest company, priceless.\r\n
