Schick Custom Decks & Basement

Be very careful about doing business with William B. Schick! After seeing some of his projects, we contracted with William B. Schick of Schick Custom Decks, to reinforce and bring our existing deck up to building code and to install a roof over existing framework. Unfortunately we did not get his best work.

Here is our list of issues:

After paying him $10,000, we had to spend another $5,300 to correct his work.

A building permit was not pulled, and engineering reports were not provided as promised.

Project was left unfinished, materials were improperly installed and exterior siding to our home was damaged.

Project did not meet local building codes.

The work had to be removed, replaced, and/or repaired to meet manufacturer installation specifications and to comply with local building codes.

It is clear that Schick does not guarantee his work!

We won a judgment through Arapahoe County Small Claim Courts for $3,774, on which we have received only $500 in reimbursement since February 2010. After three years, it's obvious that Schick has no intention of paying back the debt owed for the damages, which now stands at $4,517.58 with interest!

Schick did a great job. There were some delays, mostly due to bad weather. Overall they were very diligent and kept me updated throughout the process. We are very happy with the results.

We feel so lucky to have hired this contractor to build our dream deck. Bill Schick was the 4th bid we got, they were not the lowest bid, however when we sat down with each contractor and gave them our design to look at and bid on, it was clear that Schick custom Deck's was the only one who really knew what they were doing and we felt comfortable hiring.

When they started the project, we were introduced to Jason, the project manager and his crew. I have never met such professional carpenters in all my life. They were on time, they were polite, and they were perfectionists. This does not give me enough room to praise them enough!!!!!

The work was meticulously done. Jason made many inovative sugestions to the project that added benefit. The crew were easy to talk with and very polite. Impressed with attention to detail.

I continue to work with him and reccomend him to others. Did excellent job installing my deck at by far the best price. Highly reccomend him to others.

Everthing was just fine and dandy.

good deisgn, clean construction, prompt service. the job came out well and we are pleased. ideas for the hot tub installation were especially helpful.

You cannot imagine a group of guys who take more pride in their work than this team! Every stage of the project was done with total commitment... from design to execution, small detail to clean up. Bill and his team gave 100% and the final product as well as the process of working with them
exceeded my greatest hopes. I had a challenging mountain stairs project to tackle and they
really got what I was looking for, designed something gorgeous, did stellar work and were unbelievably prompt, efficient, neat and generally great to work with. I interviewed 15 companies before finding Schick; save yourself some time and call them first!

Bill and his crew did everything they said they would do. Would recommend them!

Bill helped develop a great design for my projects from some very vague, rough ideas. His team got the projects completed with great quality and attention to detail. Oh, and the price was very competitive and fair. All in all, I'm extremely happy with how it all worked out.
