I havent been to the dentist in a while, and i just wanted a cleaning done, thank goodness aspen and the team at north hill advised me of my issues.
5A friend of mine recommended Aspen Dental to me, so I made an appt and went. The experience was great on the whole. The staff is pleasant and courteous. I met just about everyone in the office the day I went. Dr O and his assts, Rachael the hygienist and Emily the office manager. Dr O is gentle and is very through with his exam. He said that I had the early signs of periodontal dieses and the it could be controlled and treated. Rachael came in to measure my gums and could tell that I did not floss on a regular basis. She said that she had room on her schedule and could fit me in to do my cleaning. Before the cleaning I spoke to Emily, she explained in detail my insurance breakdowns and what my out of pocket would be. Rachael was gentle and was very friendly. She explained everything that I would have to do to keep my smile healthy. The Staff at aspen dental is knowledgeable and is friendly. You can tell that they enjoy working with one another and are still able to fun and professional environment.

I went to Aspen Dental because it is close to my office. I expected a run of the mill dental experience. Much to my surprise it is better than I could have imagined. I had symptoms of pain on and off for quite a while and knew that I needed a root canal. I am a dental phobe so I delayed treatment. I walked into aspen dental and the staff was very courteous and professional, without being stuffy. Tina took my x rays and made me feel at home. Dr O completed my exam and said that he would make time on his schedule to do my root canal. Dr O and Adam work very well together and they are quite funny. They made me forget that I was having a Root Canal done. The staff is excellent and you can tell that they enjoy their jobs and each other. Thanks

I walked out after my consultation (ended up bills $60 for this FREE consultation by the way), more confused than when i walked in. The Office Manager, Emily, wouldn't write or provide details on the procedure and what I would be paying $2600 for, simply because she 'doesn't like to break things down'. Once home my wife called to get details, and payment options. At first Emily tells us that we have to apply for credit, worse case we get 'in house' credit, all credit needs applied for within 30 days of having the procedure done. Due to my work, we decide to put it off until March to apply for credit, then get the work done, per Emily, within 30 days. My wife calls to make sure we still can do this, for someone else to tell her that I had to be in for the credit within 45 days of first appointment. I rush into the office the next day, for Emily to say that's wrong, I had to apply for credit the DAY OF my consultation to get in house credit. I told her that isn't what she said, and my daughter did, too. Emily said she tells 'everyone the same thing', after saying at first it wasn't her that was there the first day. Now we have to pay out of pocket, and I need the procedure done, can't afford to pay another dentist for the xrays and things he did, so I'm stuck. I sign up to have the procedure done and go home. Emily tells my wife she can pay 1600 up front, then when I go back for an 'upgrade' it's another 1000. Meanwhile the upgrade should be 700. Again nothing in writing. Wife calls Emily the next day to request all this in detail, for Emily to tell her that 'by the way, he didn't request to be put to sleep for this, that'll cost more'. We also find out that for me to have posts put into my jaw, it's another 500$ PER post, meanwhile I was led to believe after my mouth healed I'd be heading back in to have them put in, and this was all included in the cost. Emily said she'd 'talk to the doctor and maybe he could take some of the cost off and not charge for this and that, and call my wife back'. She never called. This office is awful, in the fact Emily treated me, my daughter and wife like we were in the wrong for calling her out on what she originally told us, and in having a general attitude like we were wasting her time. For any company's manager in charge of financing and the office not to have good customer relationships or take the time, and to say they just don't like to break things down, is ridiculous and unprofessional. This isn't a used car lot, it's a medical procedure costing thousands of dollars, and if we continued with this office, a LOT more as I went along thinking everything was included in this 'package deal' that wasn't. I would have gone back in half a year, had posts put in and be told I needed thousands more. Also to not break down what is covered, what my part is in payment, and what exactly they are doing is utterly crazy. I don't recommend this place to anyone, even in an emergency, unless you want the runaround, want to be told dollar amounts that will end up being wrong once you commit to the work, and want to feel like you are a waste of their time. We ended up calling the office in the Pittsburgh Mills, which took an hour almost to go over everything on the phone with my wife, including pricing, the procedure, what would happen down the next few months, and payment options. I've decided to go there for the procedure and to get this horror story over with.
