From the sticky, slimy menu, to the chewy shrimp, to the other tasteless and uninteresting food -- the entire meal was terrible. It has been awhile since we were in the original Northeast location, but I had always remembered that as a decent, if overpriced seafood restaurant, where the food was good, just pricier and not as a good a value as Kelly's Seafood or even a bar like Chickie & Pete's.

The South Philly location was horrible. The coup de grace was when the runner brought our son's cheese fries and spilled the cheese sauce all over the table -- then proceeded to try and serve a plate of shrimp and proceeded to drop a cup of cocktail sauce in the lap of one of our party. While accidents happen (and it wasn't the waitress' fault, she was mortified by the meathead server --- we tipped her 20% anyway since the place seemed slow for a weekend night right before a game and a concert at the Wachovia center), the most annoying thing was the lack of any apology or acknowledgment from the manager. In my experience (later confirmed with a couple of friends and acquaintances who own restaurants), one offers to pick up the dry cleaning bill, knocks down the bill and apologizes profusely to the customer for screwing up your evening with a mess like that. The fact that no one other than the mortified waitress acknowleged what had happened is symptomatic of the entire restaurant. There is no pride in the offerings or the overall experience. This is now just a crappy imitation of Chickie & Pete's or Tony Luke's sports bar, or McFaddens. I have dined and drank many times at those establishments and I highly recommend them over this place. Don't waste your money. If you can't get into Chickie & Pete's and don't want to tailgate, just eat at Citizens' Bank Park instead. Benny the Bum will soon be homeless if he doesn't shape up. Zero stars. (the one star is only because citysearch doesn't allow for the zero star rating this place deserves).

I would rather watch another Brad Lidge blown save than dine here again. A loud Philly BOOOOOOOOO! Benny is a Bum.

On the bright side, no one came down with any food borne illnesses, so at least there's that.......

Pros: Walking distance to CBP

Cons: Food; staff; horribly managed -- waste of money

Although I am not a big seafood eater, this place is one of my favorites to go to for crabs, as I recently acquired a taste for them. Good eats all around here and the place is fun to hang out with friends.

This is the first crab house I have ever been that is a cross between a sports bar and a night club, which I think it operates as both, but it has some of the tastiest food selection that any taste bud could prefer. They have a wide variety of food selections from seafood to great steaks. The beer is cold and the drinks are stocked. It seems to me a little pricey but I have never left disappointed.
