We've eaten at Old Warsaw for over 10 years, the service is good, food fresh and it has always been a good experience.

Their wine list is excellent and owner is great at advising the perfect pair with your dinner.

The fish, steaks and lamb dishes have always been excellent,
The appetizers are always excellent and desserts creative.

The Best part of Old Warsaw is the live music which include a pianist and violinist - you must come here if you want to have an intimate dinner, important conversation or you're celebrating a special event.

I took my parents to celebrate their 51st Wedding anniversary. The dining room was beautiful. My server was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was wonderful. Everyone at the table ordered steaks at different tempertures and each was done perfectly. The side dish of sauted spinach was wonderful. I especially enjoyed the house baked potato. I can't wait to go back again!

There are very few places in the city that can compete with this all time classic. Every detail is exquisite, the atmosphere is unmatched, and the food requires a serious approach. The menu is not too extensive and it's printed in a more fancy fashion.

The dress code will ensure you are not surrounded by people in shorts and sandals

The Steak Tartar was to die for, and the Lobster thermidor has still to meet its match. I also had a Caesar salad that still requires a pause and a memory re-taste. Starting the evening with an Old Warsaw Signature style Caviar is positively the way to go.

Decoration, lighting, ambiance and proper table setting will highly guarantee an evening for the most successful endeavor.

I recently dined at The Old Warsaw while on a trip to Dallas. We sat right by the window; .The atmosphere was wonderful. For being such a nice restaurant, it felt laidd back with a relaxing mood, not stuffy at all. The food was extraordinary. I have never experienced such a wonderful dinner. Each course was better than the last. The service was exceptional - our server made sure to recommend the perfect wine with each course. The attention to detail was simply amazing. I hope to someday return to Old Warsaw. I would definitely recommend it as a once in a lifetime opportunity.

This is more than a "special occasion" restaurant. I live in North Dallas and it's one of my favorites, especially during holiday's. The servings are wonderful and not at all overwhelming, allowing for a guilt-free dessert course. The menu items are beautifully-presented and have a delicious balance of flavors. The waitstaff is attentive without being intrusive, and is happy to accommodate requests. The wine list is extensive and they have a full bar, this is the important part of a fine dining experience. It's a gem in Up Town.

Al the owner is a genius! I lived in Paris for a year and was dying for real authentic French food when I got back to Dallas. I heard about this place from a friend and it is all I needed. It is close to where I live now. The food and service are great and they do amazing things with all their lobster, their lobster bisque and lobster thermidor are to die for. Ask to sit in a nice booth where you can have the view of the violinist and piano, Al can also recommend the perfect wine based on what you tell him. It is the place to be for a nice romantic dinner or any occasion.

Went to Old Warsaw to celebrate our engagement. They were notified beforehand of the special day and were really accomodating. The hostess welcomed us and congratulated us. They had our table waiting with a bottle of champagne already chilled. We did the pre-fix menu and really enjoyed all the food. The service was impecable. They really helped put a special touch on an exciting night. A really fine restaurant.

Tried Old Warsaw for the first time with my family. Older kids with picky appetites. Everyone loved what they ordered and raved about it afterward. From the professional, friendly staff (including the owner) to the Romantc, sophisticated ambiance, everything about this place was perfect. Next time you're in Dallas, I recommend you avoid the touristy, crowded restaurants in the are and head uptown to The Old Warsaw where you'll be guaranteed a good meal and great service

I came here in March with 8 other people for brunch and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was amazing and the service was even better. Our food came out extremely fast and everyone was served at once. We always had water on the table and never felt rushed. We stayed in the restaurant for over 2 hours visiting and the staff never bothered us to leave. Everyone loved what they ordered. We enjoyed our brunch and would highly recommend Bistro 61

I will start by saying I was not expecting a night like the one I had at The Old Warsaw. The Hostess was so sweet and accommodating, the wait staff was diligent and refreshingly nice, and the food was impeccable! I could just die over the entrees! I was impressed to say the least. I asked to speak to the manger and to my surprise the owner was there to speak with me. It says a lot when you have an owner present to talk and chat with. He was so passionate about his food that it will make me a guest for life!

Our Christmas eve dinner was more than a disappointment! Food not as ordered and waiter not in dining room for whole entree period to send it back. The waiter argued the steak was as ordered although he had never seen it at the table and I ate only 2 bites. NO apologies, just grunts. Letter to general manager went unanswered for 3 days and then when we returned his call he was too busy and hasn't returned call in 18 days!
He doesn't understand we have told all our friends how overpriced and underwhelming the entire experience was. When mgmt doesn't care the establishment doesn't stand a chance!!

White tablecloths, a live pianist and violinist and attentive service makes this staple of Dallas fine dining the perfect romantic evening. This French restaurant has exquisite food and menu that will appeal to all tastes. This veteran establishment has taken the guessing out of ordering a five-course meal. Choose from any pre-selected menu for a set price and make a selection under each course category. Don't forget to try the desserts!!!

This is NOT a 5 star restaurant and all those who reviewed it as such had way too many expensive drinks. The owner is surley and arrogant. The waiters were confused, picked up food you weren't finished with and left empty plates to long. The food was terrible, tasteless and the waiters couldn't put the right dinner in front of the person who ordered it. The owner was rude and indignant when we questioned the confusing incorrect bill. There are so many good places with good food in Dallas - leave this one to the geriatric population that thinks Luby's is good. (and actually it is probably better). Never again!

Christmas Eve and dinner with special friends 2008. This was our second time to dine at Old Warsaw and will be our last. Was worse than we had remembered. Service staff was unorganized and did not have a good command of the English language, we had to pass plates around to get what we ordered. Food was mediocre at best. The cook neglected to add Grand Marne' to the soufle named for the liquor. The clincher came when the ticket arrived and they added a "service fee" that was what you would have expected the tip to be for a party of 6, and a liquor total of $50.00 for the six coctails we had ordered. The waiter however was upset when we didn't add more tip and moved the $70 to liquor making our 6 drinks $120, so we then added another $70 dollar tip ($480 ticket). Although our company was wonderful - dinner wasn't.

My Fiance and I had the priviledge to experience a more than wonderful evening at The Old Warsaw Restaurant. When we heard that this restaurant had the best French-Continental cuisine that the metroplex had to offer, we knew that we had to try it ourselves. When we arrived, we were greeted by a gentle valet man and escorted to a beautiful candle-lit dining room where a violinist and pianist filled the restaurant with the most pleasing live music. Our 5-course dinner began with the Lobster Bisque for me and the brie cheese soup for my fiance. The taste and creamy texture of both were exquisite. Next, I had the Old Warsaw Salad and my fiance had the greek salad, which to him was the best salad he ever had. oUr appetizers consisted of the Lobster cocktail and crab cake. The fresh, top-qualit seafood in our appetizers was superb! My fiance ad I could only anxiously await what more flavors the Old Warsaw would be able to offer when we were pleasantly surprised at the moment we tasted the subtle sweetness of made-from-scratch sorbet. An instant later, we were presented with our main entrees. I had the rib eye while my fiance had the lobster thermidor. Both entrees were prepared to perfection and there was no doubt that the utmost attention was paid to the most minor of details. Once again we were amazed at how delicious everything tasted. Our evening could only be topped with the most excellent desserts. I found the bananas foster, made tableside, to be irresistible, and my fiance loved her chocolate souffle. After such a fantastic evening, there is no wonder why this first-class restaurant has been around for 58 years, it is exceptional!

I want to thank The Old Warsaw for ensuring that our event on September 26th was memorable and enjoyable for all who attended. The BLGY staff who attended the dinner said the accommodations were elegant and tasteful, and they said the food was delicious and very well prepared! our guests also had a wonderful time and enjoyed the dinner immensely. Thank you for being so accessible when I was trying to make arrangements for this event- it definitely goes more smoothly when you work with someone who knows what they're doing!!!

I always enjoy reading the testimonials featured in The Old Warsaw's weekly advertisement and i soon had the pleasure of experienceing this level of fine dinind for myself one evening with my wife and then again for my mother's 70th birthday celebration. The birthday celebration began with a stunning limousine service for 35 people provided complimentary by the restaurant. Then our fine dining experience was captured by the flawless and undivided attention of the Maitre D' and staff, the equisite food and elegant atmosphere. Our Maitre D' then topped off the evening with a personalized cake for my mother as she was serenaded by the violinist with her favorite song. Whether it is a romantic evening out or a family celebration, The Old Warsaw is truly the ultimate in fine dinning. We will definitely recommend it to all our family and friends.

When my friend suggested we go out for dinner at The Old Warsaw restaurant I was a little reluctant. I love the French continental cuisine and although I had heard wonderful things about the restaurant, I had always put it in the "special ocassions" category. With a little less than a twist of the arm, he got his way.I called to set up a reservation and luckily there was one available for the next evening. When we arrived, we were greeted by the complimentary valet and helped out of our car. We were entralled watching the sharks in the huge aquarium while waiting for our table (which only took a moment, thanks to the attentive hostess). The waitstaff, all clad in tuxedous, semmed eager to tend to us with the utmost respect and courtousness. We were sat at a lovely table dressed in a white table cloth and set to the tee. We were pleasantly surprised when our conversation was interrupted by the live pianist with violin accompaniment.
What a Wonderful touch! Our evening was almost perfect and we hadn't even looked at our menus yet!
We both ordered off the five course menu. I couldn't decide between the brie soup and the lobster bisque...but after much consideration I decided on the Lobster Bisque and it was fantastic!
The lobster bisque is unlike any I have tried, a perfect balance between the taste of Maine Lobster and a rich, complex taste that immediately brings to mind a meal eaten at a seaside wharf in Main. It was truly unique. My friend, however, chose the brie soup and was just as pleased with his selection. We were later told by our server, that the Brie Soup is made from scratch, bowl by bowl, throughout the evening. We each opted for the Greek Salad and it was superb! We loved the sorbet between the appetizer and the entree. The Bananas Foster for two was the perfect ending to the perfect evening. We had a great dinner, a great evening, and I learned a valuable lesson. Any night becomes a "special occasion" when dinning at The Old Warsaw!!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Old Warsaw on Saturday night. I would say it was okay but if you love great food and expect top notch service, the Old Warsaw is not a fabulous experience. Maybe the people who gave this restaurant good reviews came on a week night or on a slow weekend. The place was packed, the tables are crammed together and the temperature in the room was stuffy. Our waiter was clueless as to how to treat a first time guest, I'm not sure he spoke much English. Our salad had all of the makings to be great but arrived warm, the sorbet tasted freezer burned and the wine recommendation was less than impressive for $70 a bottle. We have been to many of the top restaurants in Dallas and this is not one that I would ever request again. If you are looking for a fabulous experience... keep looking!!! Dallas has many fabulous choices.

We have been to many of the top restaurants in Dallas and this is not one that I would ever request again. If you are looking for a fabulous experience... keep looking!!! Dallas has many fabulous choices.

Cons: Service, over crowded

The Old warsaw is immpecable, the minute you enter the fantasy-like foyer, you are immersed in a delicately candle-lit atmosphere which is extremely inviting. The violinist and pianist are intriguing and compliment a 5-course meal unmatched by the "best seafood" or " best steak" restaurants around. They have an amzing shark tank once you enter the restaurant. Their is NO better place than The Old Warsaw to spend quality time with friends or family!

Old Warsaw restaurant has some of the best Steaks and Seafood in Dallas. My group had about 16 people and we were very impressed with the service of the waitstaff. Our order was served in just the right amount of time and not a single item was forgotten. The entire staff is courteous and very helpful with menu selections. The food was delicious. The restaurant is beautiful .Old Warsaw is a five star restaurant I will continue to that way for a longest time.

My fiancee' and I went to Old Warsaw looking for a romantic French five course dinner. Our friends mentioned that the place was excellent, and I agree! Hands down this is the best dinner, service and wine list we have seen. The wait staff was prompt, attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was cozy. I've been going a few times a year since I recall it every time I am amazed by the scene. I really like to eat in the gallery . The bar is always full stock and great selection. The seafood dishes are a bit more creative than in most steakhouses - but I still go for the great tender, juicy steaks and of course the last but not least the dessert delicious.

My first evening at the Old Warsaw resassured me that fine dining has not completely dissapeared.
For our aniversary, my husband and I were hoping to find a romantic environment, and the violinist and pianist really knew how to set the mood. We rather enjoy a good wine, but are no experts, we asked our waiter to help us pick something out. The wait staff was able to not only find a wine that complimented my sea bass and husband's lobster plate, but also a wine that excited the pallet. The atmosphere allowed the two of us to really enjoy each other's company, without all of the intrusion of a loud restaurant. It was truly refreshing to be able to enjoy a nice drink after dinner, without feeling so rushed to leave.
The Old Warsaw is truly an oasis, and I don't think we'll be waiting until next year to return.

Pros: Good Food

Cons: I could't find any

Poor service: forgotten requests, inattention (long lag time between courses), general lack of any charm
Mediocre food: soup not hot, mediocre filet, chocolate souffle with no taste,
Generally a waste of three hours and $65 bucks a head

I wish I would have read the reviews before I made my reservations. My experience is exactly the same as many of the other patrons that have given a one star rating. My family was completely ignored by the wait staff, we have never seen such poor service, empty water glasses, pouring our own wine, and long, long intervals between taking our orders and delivery.
Also, be very careful of the bill. When we noticed the bill was incorrect, overcharges for our meals and our wines. We brought this to the owners attention, as well as the poor service. He was completely arrogant, just smiling and saying "you must pay the bill". He had no concern whatsoever for the poor service or the error in the bill.
We have told all of our friends in Dallas about our experience and will never return.
There is so many good places and newer places to go in Dallas; why would anyone choose this restaurant with all of the bad reviews. Don't take a chance on a terrible evening.

Pros: None, owner is arrogant, reason enough not to go.

Cons: Service is far below other restaurants, dishonest staff, look over your bill.

My husband and I have lived in Dallas for over 30 years and had never been to the Old Warsaw. We decided to try it for our wedding anniversary. What a huge mistake. The owner was arrogant and surley. We were placed at a table in a side room and were categorically ignored for the evening (we had reservations by the way). The waitstaff continued to roll carts in front of us to prepare other guests dinners as if we were in the kitchen. After an hour and one half of abuse we decided to leave. At that point they rushed our dinner out to us in "to go" boxes (which I think is against the city code) and demanded payment for the meal. We paid and left without the food. The owner was not the least bit interested in our dissatisfaction. It was truly the worst dining experience of our lives.

I'm not sure why anyone would give bad reviews of the Old Warsaw, Me and my husband have been dining there 5 years and not once have they ever treated us disrespectful in any way. Im sure if you give it a try you will be able to give your own personal experience. For me their pianist and violinist create a romantic ambiance. Their service is very friendly and professional, and their food is so delicious it will keep you going back for more.

The Old Warsaw has lost it's luster, and not deserving of its reputation. Our experience for a family dinner was highlighted by very poor service. We were seated promptly at our reservation time; however, after that the service went quickly down hill. Our waiter was basically non existent for most of the meal; we had to pour our own wine, and our water glasses were left empty.
Several in our party did not receive what they ordered; and then to top it off our bill was wrong.
The owner/manager was not sympathetic to our questions regarding our service or our bill; in fact I would have to say he was arrogant and confrontive.
We will neve return; there are hundreds of places in Dallas that are better!

My boyfriend surprised me for our one year anniversary by taking me to the Old Warsaw. When we stepped inside the door I was in awe of how beautiful it was. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who seated us promptly. The ambiance of this place was amazing, the room dimly lit by crystal chandeliers, and the perfect amount of light coming from a candle on your table, giving you an intimate setting. Although it appeared that almost every table in dining room was occupied, it seemed like it was only the two of us. The night became that much better when our food arrived-Simply amazing. While eating we listened to the piano-violin duet which they had, the evening went very well. We were promptly served, and there was always a member of the wait staff standing by to make sure your every need was met. The evening couldn?t have been romantic and perfect than it was.

When my friend suggested we go out for dinner at The Old Warsaw restaurant I was a little reluctant. I love French continental cuisine and although I had heard wonderful things about the restaurant, I had always put it in the ?special occasion? category. With a little less than a twist of the arm, he got his way. I called to set up a reservation and luckily there was one available for the next evening. When we arrived, we were greeted by the complimentary valet and helped out of our car. We were enthralled watching the sharks in the huge aquarium while waiting for our table (which only took a moment, thanks to the attentive hostess). The wait staff, all clad in tuxedos, seemed eager to tend to us. We were sat at a lovely table dressed in a white table cloth and set to the tee. We were pleasantly surprised when our conversation was interrupted by the live piano with violin accompaniment. What a wonderful touch. Our evening was almost perfect and we hadn?t even looked at the menu yet!

We both ordered off the five course menu. I couldn?t decide between the brie soup and the lobster bisque?..but after much consideration I decided on the lobster bisque and it was fantastic. My friend, however, chose the brie soup and was just as pleased with his selection. We were later told by our server, that the brie soup is made from scratch, bowl by bowl, throughout the evening. We each opted for the Greek Salad and it was superb! My friend ordered the Goose Liver Pate for his appetizer and absolutely loved it! We loved the sorbet between the appetizer and the entree; it was an incredibly nice touch. When our entrees arrived, the Lobster Thermidor was amazing and my friend still hasn?t stopped talking about his Filet Mignon! The Bananas Foster for two was the perfect ending to the perfect evening. We had a great dinner, a great evening, and I learned a valuable lesson. Any night becomes a ?special occasion? when dining at The Old Warsaw!

As my sister and I are getting ready to leave for college and preperatory school, I find there is not better place to spend quality family time than at The Old Warsaw. The music, the atmostphere, and the exquisite food all contribute to this unique dining experience. My family and I were crying in the first five minutes of our favorite song being played at our table "I'll be seeing you." I couldn't think of a better place to spend our most cherished moments. A truly memorable evening.

My boyfriend and I wanted to experience a great first year anniversary, but was let down. We were seated quickly to my surprise. We waited at least 30 minutes before our order was taken. The servers passed our table multiple times before anyone stopped and asked for our order. My boyfriend had steak that had to be sent back 3 times because thay couldn't get it right. The salad wasn't fresh at all, the crabcake was about the only dish that was worth eating. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone.

Two couples in our party. Everything was exactly right and as expected for a high end restaurant. The service was impeccable, the food was fantastic, and the wines were outstanding. We ordered dinner from the prix fixe menu so we could spend more on wine. The sommellier was incredible. If you need any help with wine he is knowledgable and courteous and doesn't make you feel bad about asking any question you might come up with. The food was astounding, particularly the brie soup. It doesn't sound like it would be a sublime taste experience, but trust me it is. I just wish I could win the lottery so I could eat there every week!

Brian and I had a lovely, romantic dinner on Saturday night for his birthday. Neither of us had previously dined at The Old Warsaw and our evening in your restaurant exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is so elegant and the food superb - we haven't stopped talking about the Brie Soup or the Bananas Foster!

The careful attention of the servers and beautiful live music made our evening complete. We look forward to celebrating our next special occasion at The Old Warsaw.

What a magical evening we had at The Old Warsaw celebrating my parents 50th anniversary last weekend! The Stars Room was ideal, sparkling setting for the dinner, and the service and food were exactly what has made your restaurant famous for years. I can't recall ever hosting an event that ran more smoothly, and your warmth, hospitality, and organization made it happen. And most of all, our parents were on top of the world. Any place that can host and toast them as the amazing and beloved people that they are will always hold a special place in our hearts forever. You did exactly that, and we are very, very grateful!
