I have been a patient at Complete Women's Care Center for over 7 years and have had 2 perfect pregnancies and deliveries with Dr. Hardwick-Smith. I can't understand why anyone would go anywhere else! Dr. Hardwick-Smith is personable and professional as are all of the other providers in the practice. Everyone is so nice from the front office staff to the nurses. The office is beautiful and is in a league of its own compared to other OB/GYN offices. I now only have to go for my annual visit each year and truly miss visiting with everyone there. Again, I can't say enough about Complete Women's Care Center. If you want to receive excellent care, you should go there!

Without exception, the doctors and staff at Complete Women's Care Center are second to none. Unlike most doctor's offices, I actually look forward to my visits. Every point of contact is always a good experience and I leave the office feeling calm and taken care of. Susan Hardwick Smith sets the standard with her outgoing, easy and approachable personality. Dr. HS delivered my beautiful twin girls 7 years ago after holding my hand throughout a somewhat risky pregnancy. Her confidence gave me confidence and I can't imagine finding another OBGyn like her! Many thanks to you all!

My wife has been a patient at Complete Women's Care Center for almost ten years...and LOVES them. I wish all of my doctors would take lessons from this practice. Women's Complete Care Center is knowledgable, professional, fast and courteous. When my wife first started telling me about her great experiences...I didn't believe her...until I went to an appointment with her. They are incredible at what they do and I can't imagine my wife going to another practice. Dr. Hardwick-Smith delivered my daughters and continues to provide incredible levels of service. A huge THANK YOU to everybody at the Complete Women's Care Center. You truly make the world a much better place!!!

My husband and I just recently had our first child and I couldnt thank the doctors at Complete Womens Care Center enough. \r\n\r\nI have been a patient there for years for my routine annual exams and I have always loved visiting the office. I was always notified of all of my test results either by phone or email every year I went, which was so comforting. The office is beautiful and the staff are always welcoming!\r\n\r\nThe time came that my husband and I decided we wanted start a family, but we unfortunately had trouble concieving. The doctors at Complete Womens Care Center helped me in my goal of acheiveing pregnancy and they helped me through a very stressful and emotional time in my life. \r\n\r\nThe birthing experience was no different - I always felt like I was important at every prenatal visit and never felt like I was rushed in any way. I had a high risk pregnancy and I felt like I was taken care of extremely well. \r\n\r\nAnd finally the true testiment to this practice is that I am an Ob/Gyn physician myself and I wouldnt pick another practice to take care of my needs. Many of my Ob/Gyn collegues choose to go to this practice as well. This is a true testiment to the quality of care you recieve when you are a patient here. Every doctor at this practice is very competent and well trained and that is why I trust my care to them!

I am the author of ""not worth it"". I was unable to find any way to edit my post so I had to create a new one.\nAfter submitting my review, I was contacted by Dr. HS, we communicated back and forth through email, basically just rehashing what happened. When I mentioned to her the things that I was told by her staff about what would happen before, during and after my delivery (meeting all the doctors, circumcision, etc), her attitude came off as I did not comprehend the information in the FAQ sheets and literature given to patients. Had she actually listened to what I said, she would realize I was given the wrong information VERBALLY by her staff. But really all she wanted was for me to edit my review and give more stars. Twice she asked that I consider doing this. \nI am entitled to my opinion just as much as the next person. Nothing is going to change the crappy experience I had with that office and with her, certainly not a concerned email I received only after writing a bad review.\nI used this site to help decide what practice I wanted to go with, so I am giving my honest opinion, that which I am entitled to and everyone else has a right to know. and in my honest opinion, this place sucks (except Dr. Beard).\nGet off your high horse, lady.

All four of my children have been brought into the world with Dr. Hardwick-Smith. She's always provided the highest standard of care. She's also made the doctor-patient experience a personal one. \n\nSusan and her staff helped keep my spirits high and provided life-saving advice when pregnancy complications arose and ensured the safe and healthy arrival of all my children.\n\nComplete Women's Care Center is staffed by women, and designed with our needs in mind, and that also made me feel comfortable.\n\nI'm glad (and so are James, Andrew, Faith and Grace!) that I chose Susan to be my doctor. \n\nLiz

I was a new patient in this office this week. A friend referred me and I am so happy! The office is so pretty and welcoming, staff were amazing and professional. I saw Dr Hardwick-Smith and she stopped to say hi to me in the hallway and tell me my purse was pretty before I even made it into her office! Felt more like a friend. She talks to you in her office which by the way is gorgeous. I had that unpleaseant exam which was no big deal and they try to make everything all warm and fuzzy as far as the stirrups and all. I got my blood drawn, they email results wihich is awesome so you dont have to call, and with all that I got in and out in less than an hour even though I got lost on the way and was 10 mins late. The nurse Cynthia was so cute and friendly and walked me all the way to check out. I called my friend as I was leaving to say THANK YOU. I only wish I wasn't done having babies so I could be a more regular patient. Everyone needs to know about this place, it is toally like no other doctor's office I have been in before.

From the first day, my husband and I have been nothing but satisfied. I can't tell enough of my friends, family, co-workers, or strangers walking with a baby in the belly... just how WONDERFUL this office is! From that first day, they never seize to amaze me and exceed the expectations of what this experience should be like.\r\n\r\nAfter checking out 5 different offices, having lacked something worth respecting this one had to earn the privilege of being ""The One"" . \r\n\r\nAs a new mother, experience and knowledge was something I lacked, and not only was this staff insightful but respectable! While many places I went had great fronts but lacked in other areas or vice-versa , this was not the case! From person to person, everyone was always aware and charismatic for the patients needs and comments. My doctor was the icing on the cake in every way, flawless as to what our expectations were going in. I had the pleasure of meeting every doctor at least once and was more than comfortable with all. Every worry my husband had was always more than addressed, and for me that was relaxing to know that while I seemed to be absorbing the new blessing coming to our family, he had the silly questions memorized that I always seemed ask till I fell asleep the night before. Everyone has a story to tell and this is our amazing experience! \r\nCalled and scheduled 5 minutes tops on the day of my convenience.\r\nArrived and wait time averaged 10 minutes\r\nPayment and scheduling follow-ups flying colors\r\nFrom all the staff consistent professionalism\r\nClean rooms, wonderful decor throughout, and for me that says a lot on how you manage your appearance of the services you offer. An office should be prideful and humble to every new mothers experiences and every aspect should be a top priority. My thanks to this staff and Doctors for never disappointing us on every visit into the delivery. We are in talks of when our next child should come and no doubt this will be our forever deserving home to care for our deserving family! \r\n

Pros: The people!

Cons: I didn't find out sooner!

I am so happy to see all the effort Dr HS and her staff are putting into providing amazing service. I have been going to this office for years and they are growing SO fast and are adding new people all the time which is great for them but they haven't lost the personal touch. The front desk staff are gorgeous and wear professional suits, they have fresh flowers, beautiful furnishings, and they ask you to fill out a survey after the visit. Then the office manager even called me to follow up on my survey response! Who gets this from a doctors' office??! I almost fell over. Dr HS does have a wait a times but I am not sure how it could be otherwise, when she has so many patients and spends a high quality time with me whenever I go. If I wait more than a few minutes she apologizes profusely and explains why, like she had a sick patient or had to deliver a baby, go figure. Before she walks out she always says ""can I do anything else for you today?"" People who complain about the wait don't get it... do you want to go to a doctor who has no wait? It is because they don't have any patients. Last time I had to wait 20 mins and a pretty lady in a suit gave me a glass of water and offered to call me on my cell when they were ready. Can't ask for more than that.\r\nAs for some comments below, the negative one about the staff always being new is just funny. Dr HS and her crew had 10 staff 4 years ago now they have 35 (I asked) and 2 different loctions. That is called GROWTH and there is only one reason why businesses grow that fast.. they are doing a great job. I think it is just sad that doctors have to put up with any negative comments on sites like this when they are clearly working night and day to help us to be more healthy. I for one have nothing to say except THANK YOU and keep up the good work.

Pros: Service is great, doctor is the best in her field

Cons: they are busy, but that's not really a ""con""

Dr. Hardwick-Smith is the best cosmetic gynecology surgeon in all of Texas. She learned her techniques by studying with doctors in California. She makes you feel like you are her only patient. \r\n\r\nI've unfortunately had many serious health problems, so I've had MANY doctors. She is hands down one of the kindest and most able doctor I've encountered. \r\n\r\nI would reccomend her to any and everyone contemplating cosmetic gyneology surgery.

I am writing to express my gratitude to the providers and staff of Complete Women's Care Center. I have recently relocated to Houston, I was a new patient and was worried I would not be able to find a provider like my old doctor back home.\r\nI was so thrilled with the smiling faces, professional staff, and the care and concern expressed to me by my doctor! She was wonderful and I have told several of my co-workers about this office. Every woman in Houston should know about this group - they are truly service driven, and care about their patients.

i had really high hopes bc when i called for my first appt last year. i was assigned to Dr. Lisa Beard, who actually saw us at the first appt and was extremely personable, professional and knowledgable throughout my entire pregnancy. She always took the time to answer the few questions we did have during appointments. Unfortunately, this is where the pros end. The office staff is awful, everchanging and disorganized. I have never felt like a number so much. In particular, we had a horrid experience with the billing department. I was a self pay patient. I signed up for a package, pay X-amount over 4 payments due by 36 wks. WELL. everytime we went to leave we would schedule our next appt and always made sure to ask if we owed any money. we were always told no, not til such and such a date. it was very confusing. around 30 wks, I received a call from the billing dept telling me i had a balance that was like a $1000 more than what we had left to pay. i was taken aback and said she must be mistaken. After a few phone calls, nothing was resolved and we were to meet with her at our next appt. So we met with Rosa. She had almost nothing prepared other than a bunch of numbers on a blank receipt with no description and a total. I was told that shortly after i enrolled they revised their package and the check out girl must have assumed that i was on the new plan and that i still owed this ridiculous amount of $ that was supposed to be paid by 28 weeks (huh?). after several more calls and meetings, it turned out I was right all along. Fast forward to delivery time. I started laboring on Memorial Day. I waited as long as I was told necessary at home then called the answering service. I was called back promptly. So i made my way down to the hospital. The doctor on call for the day was Dr. Hardwick-Smith. I was pleased to hear this since I knew she was the head doctor and had stellar reviews from everything i had seen. I was admitted that evening. After i received my epidural, we had a bit of a scare with baby's heartrate but the situation was tended to promptly by the nursing staff and everything was then fine. I received a phone call from Dr. HS who told me she was on her way to perform a c-section?! i was naturally confused. When she arrived, she walked in, introduced herself first to my fiance and then to me and was very short with us. We then told her we didn't feel that a c-sec was necessary and she was appalled. Her bedside manner was completely atrocious. She gave us conflicting information and didn't get the correct updates from the nurse before speaking with us. When we told her we did not want to do the c-section she was insulting and completely uncompassionate. she made me feel like i was being selfish and a bad mother before my son was even born. i understand that emergencies happen, but with all due respect, she was not there when the incident happened and we felt she was jumping too quickly. we did lots of research prior to delivery and during this situation. she was clearly upset with our decision. i understand her concern, but the way she spoke to us (using words such as irrational and selfish) was unacceptable. I was also told several times that if i delivered on a normal weekday between normal business hours that Dr. Beard would be there. nope. 8am brought us Dr. HS again. She was definitely more pleasant with us that day. When it was time to deliver, she did beautifully. Our son was facing up instead of down and she successfully was able to turn him around and helped me get him out extremely fast. i do believe she is an extremely talented doctor, but she had left a sour taste in my mouth from the night before. The next day we waited ALL DAY for a doctor from CWCC to discharge me. The baby was discharged before i was. I thought that being right next door to the hospital would have helped. \r\nwasnt worth it.

Pros: Dr. Beard

Cons: everything else

I am a new patient. Wanted to speak to someone in the Pearland location. Be aware they only have one number for both locations, so if you want to speak to someone at the Pearland location, you are put on hold then have to request to be transferred to the Pearland location. Was on hold for 22 minutes then someone picked up and transferred me right back into the Houston office:(. . . then was disconnected. \r\n\r\nIf it is going to be this hard to just speak to someone, I think I will pass and find another office. Plenty of Obgyns in Pearland.

As, a women we go through alot. When you have medical issues you need a Dr who is compassionate, Attentative and a great listener. Thank you Dr Jurney for being their for me as I prepare for surgey. I thank God for you

Pros: Excellant in all Areas

.

Dr. Jurney is absolutely amazing, and I consider myself pretty hard to please when it comes to doctors. I wish she could practice medicine under every medical specialty, life would be so much easier! In our current medical culture, I feel the norm for doctors is arrogance, inpatience, and an extreme lack of empathy. Dr. Jurney is a rare, wonderful, and refreshing exception. I recommended her to one of my friends who is equally, if not more so, as hard to please as I am when it comes to doctors. She was actually just getting off from a horrible experience with her OB/GYN and wanted to find someone new. So naturally, I told her about Dr. Jurney, and the next day after her appointment, she could not stop gushing out how amazing she was. This friend also has an uncommon disorder that can lead to high risk pregnancies that her previous OB/GYN knew nothing about - and of course, Dr. Jurney not only knew about it, but answered all her questions and had a specialist to refer her to. She's definitely a winner!!

I would like to add to the reviews for CWCC and Dr. Jurney. I had just moved to Houston, when I found out I was pregnant. I looked around for an OBGYN and came across CWCC. And I started going there since, I was under the care of Dr. Jurney and let me tell you what a great doctor she is. She is the BEST OF THE BEST. She listens, talks to you and understands you. I was a first time mommy and had many questions for her, I would actually write them down and take my little notebook with me. And let me tell you that none of them went unanswered. I always felt like I was family to her. She treated me so well....... which is why hopefully soon when we start trying for baby #2. I will definitely go back to CWCC and Dr. Jurney. She performed a C-Section on me because my little peanut as she called my baby. Was breached, but I was not nervous during the process because she was there with me. She checked on me the whole time that I was in the hospital. She is truly amazing and a GREAT OBGYN. I cannot wait to go back to the office and have her be my doctor for baby #2 when that happens. I just want to share this experience with you. If you are looking for a great OBGYN don't hesitate and go to CWCC. They are the best in town. I highly recommend them to anyone that asks me for my OBGYN. Dr. Jurney you are THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! And your staff there is GREAT.

Where to begin singing the praises of CWCC? From the moment I arrive for an appointment I am immediately at ease. The waiting room is beautifully decorated and so relaxing! The lights are kind of dim so it's easy to cat nap and take a much needed break from my busy day. When I'm with the doctor I feel totally at ease. Going in for my yearly exam is not my favorite thing to do, let's face it. But, being cared for by a female doc is the way to go. Men docs just don't get it!!!

Dr. Sara Jurney has been my doctor now for 4-5 years. She has been the OBGYN for several of my friends and they all say she is absolutely the BEST! I started going to the Complete Womens Care Center after I had been going to a male doctor for a few years. Wow, what a difference! Dr. Jurney always listens to what I have to say, answers all of my questions, addresses my concerns, and makes me feel right at home. When you walk into the office, it doesn't feel like you are in a typical waiting room. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Not only is Dr. Jurney one of the best doctors in Houston, but the entire team of doctors are great. I would feel comfortable seeing Dr. Olimacher, Dr. Hardwick-Smith, or Dr. Beard if I was unable to see Dr. Jurney. They are such a cohesive team!!

I've read so much about Dr Hardwick-Smith on this form, I felt like I should say something about Dr Ohlemacher. I recently switched to her because my previous OB/GYN was further from my house and the wait times there averaged an hour or more. \n\nDr Jessica Ohlemacher is younger than most OBGYN's I've met but she is *the* most understanding and compassionate one I know. I bring a list of at least 17 questions to every appointment and she answers every single one without making me feel silly at all. I know this is a doctor's ""job"" but her attitude is always so reassuring. I can ask her dumb things like ""I sneezed! did I deprive my baby of oxygen??"" and she will answer without laughing. I love that she is vigilant about my blood pressure without making a big deal about it. In fact there were several things that I was anxious about (go figure) and Dr Ohlemacher is GREAT at explaining things so that I understand the severity (or not so severity) of the concern without making me more anxious but also without playing it down or being dismissive. She really gives reassuring but realistic counsel. That is my favorite thing about her. \n\nI'm only 13 weeks so I haven't had a chance experience the hospital yet, but I look forward to it. \n\nI should also put in a note about Dr Beard. I came in one day hysterical because I had some bleeding that was much more than usual and Dr Ohlemacher was in a different office that day. The nurses, Nicole and Naomi, were GREAT at calming me down. I was a complete wreck that day, and they spoke to me quietly until Dr Beard examined me and reassured me everything was ok but advised me to take it easy. Again, realistic, but reassuring. \n\nI would recommend this all-female office to any of my girlfriends and family. And I am so lucky to have them on my side.

I have been a patient at Complete Women's Care Center for almost 10 yrs, and I have never felt more like a number then I did at my recent appointment. Four years ago I came here for my son and I planned to keep coming with our next baby. I am now expecting again and when I called to schedule my appointments I am on hold for 3-4 minutes minimum. The first appointment I had with the Nurse Practitioner was great! June Davis was very friendly and was not quick to leave the room. This was my first time meeting her since now the practice has new rules. My second appointment was to see Dr. Journey. When my husband and I arrived at the office we were told that she was running an hour behind. I tried to be understanding, being that I work in the medical field myself and know that sometimes things happen. We sat down and waited for over an hour. When I realized the time I questioned the front desk. That's when I noticed the sign in sheet and saw patients who signed in after us and who were also seeing the same doctor where getting called before us. I was furious! The front desk receptionist just told me she was going to look into it and of course all of a sudden that is when I was called back. My vitals were taken and I was placed in another room just to sit there another 15 minutes. When the doctor finally came into the room we addressed our concerns and she took it with a grain of salt. She was quick to the the point and the entire visit including the Ultrasound was maybe 5 minutes. I will no longer be continuing my visits with this office and hope that no one else leaves this office feeling like a number.\n-----------------------\nUpdate\n----------------------\nAlthough my previous visit to the Complete Women's Care Center was less than desirable, Dr. Hardwick-Smith took the time to personally acknowledge my concerns. She was very apologetic and she assured me that my prior experience would not be repeated. I truly appreciate the time taken to contact me, it speaks volumes of her professionalism, and the practice she represents. \nThank you Dr. Hardwick-Smith!\n \n

As a business owner myself, I would have to say there is something going on in this office. My wife has been through 2 pregnancies in the past 5 yrs with this office..The only familiar face beside our doctor has been her nurse pam, which is the reason we made it through 2 very difficult pregnancies. Every check up in between and through out the 2 pregnancies I have never seen so many staff come and go. All I can say is as a business owner myself, it makes your company look very poorly managed if you cant keep the same staff member.I have been in business for over 30 years and if it wasnt for my staff , in which most have been with me 10+ years..I would be out of business and embarrassed as a professional !!!

The doctors and nurses at CWCC are the best in the field. Dr. Hardwick-Smith delivered my daughter in 2007 and my son in 2009. She was there to support and encourage me every step of the way starting with my first pregnancy, second pregnancy, both C-sections, and follow-up care. She is kind and very experienced. She is prepared to deal with any complication that arises and give moms the reassurance you need for a successful pregnancy! She's a mom of 3 beautiful children and is very understanding when it comes to help and advice. Dr. Hardwick-Smith, Dr. Jurney, Dr. Beard, and Dr. Ohlemacher have all answered my middle of the night calls for reassurance with the most sincere concern for my baby and my health. Dr. Smith's nurses are the best. The women who manage the front desk, the office, and the lab techs are all friendly. We especially have a close relationship with Brandi, our favorite nurse practioner, Pam, and some of the nurses. Everyone at the practice has been professional, supportive, and so sweet to me and my family. They have become my extended family, and I will miss visiting them for those frequent prenatal appointments!

I have gone to CWC for both of my pregnancies and if we decide to have more children this is where I will be! While Dr. Hardwick-Smith is my primary Doctor, I have had the privileged to see Dr. Beard and Jurney, and I love them all! I can not leave out Brandi ether ... Dr. Hardwick-Smith's FNP....she is just wonderful! I can not fully express in writing how great this practice is. You just know that they care for you and your family and are with you every step of the way. They become your family for 9 months and then for the rest of your life. It takes a special group of ladies to make you feel at home and loved the way they do. You feel like you are their favorite patient and they have all the time in the world for you! I would not trust my health or the health of my unborn child with anyone else! I thank CWC from the bottom of my heart and miss seeing them every month!

My 2nd baby boy was born on Sept 4, and was delivered by Dr. Lisa Beard. I was scheduled for an induction that day, but baby decided to come early (4:31am). Even though i am not her patient and never met her before that night, Dr. Beard was very professional and compassionate. She was there for me at four in the morning. (I wouldn't get out of bed at that time for anyone but family...) So i have a great deal of respect for her. This pregnancy was nothing like the first. I felt a lot of pelvic pressure, i was constantly stressed out and irritated due to the hormonal rollercoaster. My pregnancy was not complicated, but i made it so. I don't know how many times i called in to ask questions or to complain about something small (during the pregnancy and postpartum). I received answers promptly, and was treated with the utmost respect. I was cared by an awesome team of doctors and nurses (Brandi, Pam, Jennifer, Christina, Krista and Tanya). After seeing them monthly/weekly for 9 months, I feel like i know everyone, and can call them my friends. Both Brandi and Doctor Hardwick-Smith addressed all of my concerns and gave me confidence at each appointment. Brandi has a positive attitude and is very caring. Dr. Hardwick-Smth is the best of the best, and that's why she has been my doctor for over 8 years - I love her! Dr. Ohlemacher came to see me twice while i was in the hospital to make sure i was doing okay - she really didn't have to, and that meant a lot. Bertha (ultrasound tech) is also very nice. She explained each ultrasound in detail to me and my husband. Now that my family is complete, i will miss seeing them so often. They really care about your health, pregnant or not. I have nothing but positive things to say about this practice!

Pros: Compassionate team of doctors and nurses

I was referred to Dr. Hardwick-Smith by another medical professional because of her intelligence and incredible bedside manner. As my husband and I are both physicians, I researched her credentials and interviewed her before selecting her as my physician. She is a very gracious woman and physician. I was looking for someone who could combine being extremely clinically competent yet compassionate to my needs. She guided us in trying to get pregnant, knew when to refer us to a specialist, and then followed us every step of the way. I was very impressed with her ability to discern when to observe and when to act. In the delivery room, the cord was wrapping around my son's neck----she calmly yet assertively looked at me and the nurses and said, ""Let's get him out""-----within 3 pushes he arrived with a team of transport nurses standing by. Thankfully her attentiveness and preparedness avoided any complications. She had decided to stay and personally deliver our son which caused a late dinner with her own family. I refer both patients and personal friends to her because of her wisdom, confidence, and caring attitude. Her staff support her in the mission to provide her patients the complete package of top notch medical services. We are forever grateful to her for her role in giving us the beauftiful blessing of a healthy baby boy.

I recently went to Dr. Hardwick-Smith for a non-pregnancy health issue, She spent a great deal of time talking with me, was supportive and encouraging, and made sure I would get the very best care possible. I found Dr. Hardwick-Smith\tto be an excellent OB-GYN. I was pregnant with my first child when I went to Dr. Hardwick-Smith. Throughout the entire pregnancy she always displayed the utmost in care. She always went out of her way for me, she always returned all my phone calls, and I never had to ask her twice.\n\nHer staff was always friendly, efficient, and always responsive to anything I needed.\tMy test results were even quickly acknowledged, usually within a couple days.\n\nDr. H-S encouraged me to stay as active as possible during the pregnancy and gave me confidence to continue living an athletic lifestyle. Her famous line to me was, ?Only stop if you don?t feel comfortable, but don?t let being pregnant get in the way.? I believe her positive attitude and constant encouragement to stay physically active ensured my pregnancy went smooth as possible and my post partum recovery was super fast, and within a few days I was back to doing cardio.\n\nOn the day of my son?s delivery, a Saturday morning before Christmas, Dr. H-S came in on her own time to deliver the baby. Something she did not have to do. She personally called the hospital the day before I was admitted to set everything up, and made sure we had the best room and staff available. She even called me three times while I was in the room to make sure everything was OK.\n\nDr. H-S made my delivery so easy. I know it is not ?easy,? but she really spoiled us with her care and attention. We really love Dr. H-S and cannot imagine having another doctor.\n

Pros: Outstanding care

.

During my pregnancy i was under the care of Dr Susan Hardwick-Smith. I have to say that she was very friendly, professional, caring and the perfect OB. I went in to preterm labour at 33 weeks so had quite alot of visits to the CWCC. Each visit was a positive experience, everyone was friendly, helpful, polite and very good at the their jobs!!! My care was always of the highest standard! Other Drs in the centre were also friendly and helpful during my pregnancy. My delivery was a little difficult but i knew i was being taken care by the very best. I was always reasurred that everything was being done to keep my baby and I safe! I will continue to use the centre and of course Dr Hardwick Smith. Thank you all at the CWCC, you all contributed to my care and deserve praise and thanks!!! Keep up the good work!

I will continue to use the centre and of course Dr Hardwick Smith. Thank you all at the CWCC, you all contributed to my care and deserve praise and thanks!!! Keep up the good work!

Pros: Professional, friendly and committed

I have to get in the habit about commenting on positive occurrences rather than just the bad ones. My treatment by Dr. Hardwick-Smith and her staff (Brandi, etc) was exceptional. I had a very difficult situation which I had to deal with and I really felt like they were with me every step of the way. I am a scientifically-minded emotional woman.\tTherefore, I am a difficult patient to please...I want all of the facts, cutting-edge equipment, science reasoning, etc while at the same time I need a warm approach, care, compassion, and empathy. I got it all from Dr. Hardwick-Smith and her team. They were not only my doctors on my journey...they were my partners.

Dr. Jurney was responsible for my care during a very difficult and unexpected pregnancy. From my first appointment at CWCC, I felt like a priority. Dr. Jurney comforted me when delivering difficult news and made sure I understood everything ahead. My husband and I felt that she got to know us personally, and helped us through a difficult 9 months. After several months of seeing her weekly, we delivered a healthy baby because of her termendous care. Everyone on her staff and everyone in the office could not have been more compassionate. I feel very blessed to have found this doctor and this practice. I could not have asked for anything. In fact, I feel a little sad that I will not be seeing them weekly anymore now that my pregnancy is over! I reccomend this practice to anyone who will listen.

I wanted to write this from a husband's perspective, which actually gives a good look in to the operations of the office and the treatment one receives.\n\nI am extremely lucky that I was able to accompany my wife on every visit during the pregnancy of our first baby. We were referred to ""Compete Women's Care Center"" by a friend, and it ended up being the best choice we have made in a long time. From the first visit, I, yes ""I"" the husband, felt extremely happy with the treatment of my wife and the care that the doctors, especially Dr. Hardwick-Smith gave her. This child is my first, and even though my wife carried her, I felt incredibly nervous until I walked through the double glass-doors in to a warm, welcoming environment.\n\nFrom the first visit until the last, we were treated to an incredible journey of affection and kindness, which I believe affected the entire pregnancy. Brandi was amazing, Dr. Jurney was amazing, Dr. Beard was amazing, but most of all Dr. Hardwick-Smith.\n\nI wasn't even pregnant, I wasn't the patient, but I felt like we connected with the doctors at CWCC on an equal level, almost like after the visit we could all go and ""hang out together"". Dr. Hardwick-Smith gave enormous effort to making sure that we were comfortable, including through the entire labor-phase. We had a semi-complication, and she put it all out on the table and made us entirely comfortable with what we faced. She wasn't even supposed to be on that shift, but she made sure that she was there when we needed her most.\n\nYes, there may be a wait at some point in the office, but have you ever stopped to think, ""why""? Would you rather have your Doctor, who has seen you on so many occasions and knows you and your body personally, in the office seeing patients at an incredible rate, or with you on your most ""special"" day? I would easily wait 2+ hours on every ""regular"" visit, just to have Dr. Hardwick-Smith constantly overseeing my wife's and daughter's well-being on the delivery day. She was there constantly, filling us in, allowing us to understand all the changes. It was an incredible experience.\n\nMy wife and I looked forward to every visit, and of course, the baby and her development was the emphasis, but the knowledge that CWCC exhibited was amazing, and now we have an extremely happy baby girl that benefited from a well-kept pregnancy.\n\nI understand that this is a strange view, but I think that having some one see the progression from an outside perspective is a definite plus, especially when that someone is so emotionally involved.\n\nAs long as we live, and as long as my friends and family ask us for recommendations, we will send them to CWCC. I feel we are so lucky to find such a professional group, and I am so lucky that I was able to experience every visit and the entire term of the pregnancy.\n\nYes, I am a man, a husband, a father. I am so proud of my daughter and my wife. I was lucky to experience this wonderful event, and if I had to do it over again, I would change nothing. We owe so much to CWCC, and I feel like our debt can never be repaid. I hope you give them a chance, it was the best decision (besides having a daughter!) that we have ever made!\n\nJ, K, and A

Pros: Felt at home, actually enjoyed the ""visit""

Cons: Absolutley none....

Dr. Hardwick-Smith, Dr. Jurney, Pam, Brandi, and the other nurses and staff from CWCC have been taking exceptional care of me since I came in for my first appointment when I was 6 weeks pregnant.\n\nAlthough they've worked with so many patients over the years, they were still excited and happy for us when the ultrasound scan revealed that my husband and I were going to have a healthy little bundle of joy in 9 months. At 39 weeks, Dr. Hardwick-Smith and Dr. Jurney helped me deliver a healthy beautiful baby that was unfortunately breech. I wasn't even nervous in the OR because they had assembled such a proficient medical team to perform the C-section. The birth and delivery went beautifully, and the doctors let me admire and bond with my baby right away. As a mother herself, Dr. Hardwick-Smith gave me the insight and understanding I needed when I was feeling overwhelmed with pain and fatigue in the hospital. I had a really rough night one night when the night nurse that was on duty at the hospital forgot to check up on me and administer my next dosage of pain medication. In fact, all the nurses and medical techs were wonderful except that ONE nurse and ONE of the head nurses (that was on duty that night who was not helpful). When Dr. Hardwick-Smith came in to check on me that morning, I was an emotional wreck and extremely fatigued. She was sincerely concerned and knew just how to make me fell better immediately. She waited in the room with us while my husband looked up the phone number of the pharmacy near our house so she could call in the prescription for my pain medication herself. It was there and waiting for us to pick up on the way home from the hospital.\n\nI really admire how Dr. Hardwick-Smith oversees such a remarkable and compassionate practice with all of these amazing professionals while raising a family of her own. I am happy and appreciative of the relationship I have with my doctor. CWCC is the best OB/GYN practice in Houston!\n

I have never been one to write reviews like this, but given some of the negative reviews I have read below, I feel absolutely compelled to provide my perspective. My husband and I had the most wonderful experience being attended by the Complete Women's Care Center, and Dr Susan Hardwick-Smith in particular. Having a full term, healthy baby was quite a journey for us...two miscarriages before success. Dr Hardwick-Smith and all her staff provided us all the professional and emotional support that we needed during all this time. They consistently made themselves available via phone and via appointment at short notice, as needed. Dr Hardwick-Smith instilled complete confidence regarding her ability and skill, but at the same time showed compassion and wasn't dismissive when we showed our fears about achieving a healthy, full term pregnancy. She willingly offered every test and exam both after miscarriage and during our successful pregnancy to ensure our fears were allayed. We have full confidence in this practice and have referred a number of friends who have also only had positive experiences. Don't hesitate.

Pros: Quality Proferssionals and Staff

.

I began seeing Dr. Hardwick-Smith in 2003. She came highly recommended by several co-workers. From my first visit with her, I was impressed with the care I received. After testing during my first visit, Dr. Hardwick-Smith called me herself to relay the test results to me. The results were not devastating, but I greatly appreciated her taking the time to speak with me and answer my questions. When I became pregnant for the first time last year, her staff was equally impressive in their OB care. The entire process, beginning with the first ultrasound with Brandi, the nurse practitioner, through the post-partum care, I had all questions answered and each step explained to me. With each visit, I felt that my baby and I were receiving the best care. Dr. Hardwick-Smith, Brandi, and the nurses all shared in our excitement in the development of our baby. They were also conscious to include my husband in conversations and answer his questions. I did not feel rushed during any of the visits, and even had minimum waiting time for almost all appointments. I had some concerns post-partum, and the staff did not hesitate to see me and check to be sure that all was okay. During one of these visits, I also met with Dr. Beard. Although she was new to the practice, I didn't sense any less competency or professionalism. She was easy to talk with and addressed all of my concerns. As an added bonus, during one of my post-partum visits, the office was having a ""customer appreciation day,"" complete with a coffee bar and snacks. I've never experienced such personal care in any other physician's office and would not hesitate to recommend anyone to the Complete Women's Care Center.

My wife and I were in search of an OB/GYN group in Houston. One that could provide great service and the best quality of care. We asked all of our friends and neighbors that were expecting or had a child. Well, we heard a lot of positive experiences about Dr. Hardwick-Smith's group. We decided to give it a shot and set up an appointment. We were not disappointed. It was the first time in a physician's office that I didn't feel rushed or like I was in some sort of cattle call. \r\n\r\nThe nursing staff took their time and LISTENED!!! Imagine that. They took their time and allowed us (first timers) to ask all the questions in the world...like ""what foods should I avoid eating? and how much weight should I expect to gain?"" and the classic man question...""when can we have s*x?"" :)\r\n\r\nThen came Dr. Hardwick-Smith. She is a very caring and compassionate physician that took her time with any follow up questions that we saved specifically for her. She made us feel at ease with the entire process. She changed a scary process into one that we could really enjoy and look forward to each day. We are very appreciative of all her efforts and those of her staff.

Pros: Warm, Caring, Compassionate, Unbelievable access to physicians

I have been a patient of Dr. Susan Hardwick-Smith since 1999 and she has delivered all 4 of my children. She is such a caring and competent physician and I felt like she really took the time to get to know me. I have never forgotten when she personally returned my call when I was living out of state and planning to return to TX and needed an appointment because I was pregnant with my second child- small touches like that were really special. The staff of CWCC, particularly Brandi (NP) and Pam are great! Truly, I cannot give enough thanks to Pam who answered several of my calls and always offered reassurance! In 2008, after my 4th baby was born- he had to be taken to the NICU. I was very upset, in part because I was not informed of what was going on by the hospital staff. The next day, when Dr. Hardwick-Smith came by my room to check on me, I told her that I was upset about how things had been handled the night before at the hospital. She listened- and not long after our conversation- the hospital administrator came to my room to apologize and find out what had happened. It really meant a lot that Dr. Hardwick-Smith cared enough to do something about my concern- particularly because I had not asked her to do so- I just really felt she went to bat for me. I am just so thankful and fortunate to have Dr. Hardwick-Smith as my doctor for all these years. I would highly recommend her- and in fact I have to several of my friends! And though it takes me almost 2 hours to get to her office in the medical center (yes, I have moved that far away but just can not consider changing doctors!)- all I can say is that it has been well worth it!

Cons: Wait time is variable- but that is expected at an OB/GYN's office.

Dr. Susan Hardwick Smith is the best OB I have ever been to and I highly reccommend her as a docotr. She is extremely smart, professional and approachable. I feel it an honor that she delivered both my children. She came up on Mothers day to check on me and the baby. Most docs would have sent someone else. Her PA (brandi) and nurses (Virginia and the red head) are a great addition as well. Dr. Jurney is awesome too. I haven't met Dr. Beard or June but my friends say they are great too. Dr. H-S truly cares about her patients. I wish she could be my doctor for everything!

I have been using this clinic since 2003. At the time, I was looking for a practice that was all female, where I felt comfortable with all the physicians in the practice. Dr Hardwick-Smith and Dr Jurney fit what I was looking for perfectly. I was pregnant, and after discussing with Dr H-S my expectations for my delivery, I knew I was in good hands. My pregnancy went well, and my delivery was perfect! I saw both Dr Hardwick-Smith and Dr Jurney during my labor. Their work is amazing! Since my delivery, their practice has grown to include Dr Beard (who I have also met, and have high regard for), as well as 2 Nurse Practitioners. I recently went in for my annual visit, and saw Dr Hardwick-Smith's NP Brandi, who is wonderful as well. I have not met June, Dr Jurney's NP, but everyone in the practice will take the time to listen to your concerns, give you excellent care, and make you feel like a person as opposed to a chart. I have referred both my mother and my sister to this practice, as well as friends. They have all been equally pleased as I have been!

Pros: Physicians and NPs! Beautiful office

Cons: Sometimes a wait, but who can predict when a baby will decide to make his way into the world? I think waits are expected with an OB/Gyn

I live close to the Woodlands and would rather take the time to drive to the Medical Center to see Dr. Hardwick-Smith than go any where else! I was very nervous as a first time Mom. Dr. Hardwick-Smith, Brandi (her NP) and the staff at CWCC made our first time parent experience absolutely wonderful. The staff was courteous and attentive throughout the entire process. No question was too small for their time and attention (and us first time Mom's can ask quite a few questions). I also had interactions with a couple of the other physicians in the office (Dr. Jurney and Dr. Beard). They were just as wonderful! It was comforting to know that you were in excellent hands no matter what. Delivery day was another nerve racking day for a first time Mom. Dr. Hardwick-Smith, once again, proved to be nothing less than wonderful. The care and compassion did not stop just because you delivered. My cell phone rang about 2 weeks after we were home and I noticed it was the doctor's office. I thought...oh they are calling to setup my 6 week appointment...Instead, it was Dr. Hardwick-Smith calling to personnally check on me and our new little one. WOW! Going to my 6 week follow up appointment felt like going to show family our new little one. Everyone was so excited to see her after watching me grow over the past 9 months. I highly recommend using Dr. Hardwick-Smith and CWCC for any of your OB or GYN needs. And for those nervous first time Mom's like me... you only want the best....well, this is the place! \r\n

My experience at the CWCC was 100% positive. Before my 1st 7 week prenatal appt I experienced some bleeding. Brandi (Dr Hardwick-Smith's nurse practitioner) got me in to see her in just a couple of hours. She eased my fears and patiently answered all my questions through my tears. The next day she personally called to give me my lab results and patiently answered all my questions again. \r\n\r\nA few days later on a Friday night I started bleeding again. Dr Jurney was on call and she was very sympathetic and caring. I knew there was nothing to do but wait but she did not make me feel bad at all for calling her on a Friday night. Any time I had an issue, it was easy to get in contact with the nurse.\r\n\r\nAt all my prenatal appointments with Dr Hardwick-Smith and Brandi, I felt as if I was their only patient. They kept me and my husband informed on everything and helped us make decisions along the way. Their bedside manner is wonderful...As a nurse, I KNOW good bedside manner! They took their time to answer all our questions and never made us feel rushed. They took the time to ask how I was feeling and really cared about the answer! At my delivery, Dr Hardwick-Smith was so calm, professional and caring. I really trusted her with the care of myself and my baby. And all the labor and delivery nurses there talked about how great she is!\r\n\r\nI cant say enough good things about Dr Hardwick-Smith and her staff. I wouldn't go anywhere else and I highly recommend them.

Pros: caring, professional ataff, great bedside manner

I have seen Dr. Hardwick-Smith for over 7 years now. I have 4 children, including fraternal twin boys that were born in May 2008. Dr. Hardwick-Smith has cared for me in all healthcare situations -- from cervical dysplasia to infertility to the surprise pregnancy later on of twins! She has taken an interest in my emotion well-being as well as physical. On top of being a fantasitc ob and gyn doctor, I developed serious pneumonia while 18 weeks pregnant with my twins. I was checked into Memorial Hermann for 1 week. The care I recieved from Dr. Hardwick-Smith (and Dr. Jurney) was amazing. After that ordeal, an ultrasound revealed the twins might both have Down's Syndrome. Again, Dr. Hardwick-Smith was there for me emotionally and physically. When I was scared to death of the c-section, Dr. Hardwick-Smith's bedside manner was uncomparable and extremely caring and kind. She has been involved in my life for years now. I would not ever consider changing doctors. Her nurses, including her Nurse Practitioner Brandi, are caring, compassionate and very competent. Dr. Hardwick-Smith truly is the best of the best. Anyone that has her as their ob/gyn caregiver can rest easy knowing they are in the best hands possible.

Sorry...had to teach a class......So, I was saying that my arduous research was rewarded when I found a website that referred to Dr. Hardwick Smith, who turned out to be a real gem! This is the kind of woman/wife/mother you want to have doing such a sensitive procedure as this kind of personal corrective work! Her candor about my expected discomfort level was spot-on, and her before and after pictures of anatomical and functional improvements left NO questions unanswered! Smart and unhurried, articulate as well as a good listener, Dr. Hardwick resonated with me as the best choice for the job I had in mind. Her super -competent LVR Consultant/ Practice Administrator Nora G organized my out -of -state complications with professional finesse, sensitivity, and an amazing anticipation of details. ..even gave me her cell phone number for after hours calls!! The atmosphere at CWCC is cetainly one of the highest standards of caring professionalism; I was so impressed. (ps: the walls of the wait salon as well as the interiors are covered with art of the most loving, beautiful examples of strong femininity, echoing the real tone of what I experienced there.) Pam and Jennifer and the accessable doctors on staff are the kind of support people you want to have as your mentors as you navigate your health changes. They are the kind of women we want our daughters to emulate. And, it feels like they could be the kind of girlfriends you would want to share chocolate with on a hard day!\r\n\r\nIf you need LVR, do your homework. Get your research straight and set up a consultation with some smart questions. Be picky, be clear, and be nice. Dr. Hardwick Smith is too good to just let me come back up here without another follow-up, so I will be flying back to Texas again next month. But I like that kind of perfectionism....it makes for the best of results, and that's what I wanted.

I am VERY surprised at any negative review for Sara Jurney!!!! She delivered my son 7yrs ago. I was young and the pregnancy was a bit of a surprise. I credit Sara for being not only an amazing doctor but, a friend. She was there for me every step of the way, right down to the very last moment. I couldn't have asked for a more gentle and compassionate doctor to guide me thru the most amazing experience of my life!!!! I not only trust her with my body, emotions, and baby, I trust her enough to have refered several of my friends to her. I hope any one reading these reviews will take in consideration that some people are just simply NEVER pleased and will go to great lengths to make sure EVEYO \r\nNE knows it. \r\n\r\n \r\n

I have nothing but sincere respect and admiration for Dr. Susan Hardwick-Smith!\r\nWhen I met her in 1999, I knew I had struck gold. Her genuine concern and decision-making on my behalf enabled me to relax during my pregnancy and simply enjoy it - without having to have my 'guard up' for fear of bad care. I let her make all the decisions - from when it was time to induce (due to pregnancy-related high b. pressure) to other concerns.\r\n\r\nI loved her straight talk! When my b. pressure was taken by her nurse at the time - she noted that sitting up it would high, while laying on my left side would cause it to be normal. The nurse told Dr. Hardwick-Smith something like ""it's normal when she lays on her left side"" ... to which Dr. HS responded ""Yeah, well if we could go through life lying on our left side, that would be great, but we can't..."" She then explained how it would be in my baby's best interest to stay at the hospital and be induced. I was already 37 weeks and my baby was full term. (Wasn't that a great line? ""If we could go through life lying on our left side..."" I love that line!)\r\n\r\nMy daughter was perfectly healthy - and so was I - thanks to Dr. Susan!\r\n\r\n... which leads me up to 2008... admittedly, I had gotten lazy in my care and had let years pass without being examined. I was tempted to find an OB/Gyn out by where I live - far Northwest - but something told me to stick with Dr. HS... good thing! She found a large polyp that needed to be removed. Had I gone to anyone else who may have insisted on doing surgery on me, I would have had to frankly tell them that I needed to see my 'real' doc for this! Dr. Susan!\r\n\r\nDoctor, if you ever read this, just know that I (along with a lot of Houstonians) feel that you and your practice are the best Houston has to offer! \r\n\r\nYour excellent care and exceptional decision-making makes shy and apprehensive people like me feel very comfortable and relaxed that we're being treated by the best. Houston is lucky to have you.

Pros: The most intelligent, caring, compassionate, non-rushed practice in Houston

Cons: People who feel that the best isn't worth waiting for in office or by appt.

I am writing this review as someone who doesn't like going to the doctor. I never went to the ob/gyn until I was 23 and newly married. My husband and I made an appointment and were randomly assigned to Dr. Beard. We were scheduled for the next day after we called. \r\n\r\nWe went in and were able to talk to Dr. Beard about the problem we were having, and she was very compassionate and kind when she listened. I didn't feel rushed or like I was bothering her. When she did the exam, she did it as painless as she could. I mentioned during my exam that my periods were extremely heavy and irregular. Dr. Beard immediately asked me more questions about it, and recommended testing me for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). \r\n\r\nThrough several tests and exams, she confirmed the diagnoses. She gave me an information packet about it and answered every question I had about what it was, whether I could still have children, and the new medications I would be taking. When I told her I didn't want to take the birth control pill for religious reasons, she was very nice and said there were other options - she actually worked with me to find a medication I would be ok with taking!\r\n\r\nThanks to Dr. Beard listening to me and discovering this, I am now on a medication that lets me have regular periods and one that helps me lose weight (weight control is related to PCOS). I am very grateful to her for being so patient and compassionate, and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for an Ob/gyn!

Dr. Sara Jurney is the greastest Dr. there is. I feel truly blessed to have found her and that she delivered both of my children.\tShe was nothing but kind, considerate and helpful each time we went in. My pregnancies were complicated by HBP and she worked with us so we could deliver two healthy children. I don't believe a word of the other reviews and it saddens me that people might believe them. I would recommend her to anyone and I have!

I am writing to respond to the reviews from the following: 10/28/08 by kellim80, 5/28/08 by boxerchick, and 9/29/08 by BabyBoy8lb9oz. Let me begin by saying that I am greatly surprised and saddened by these reviews. Federal law protecting the confidentiality of patient information constrains me from providing details regarding patient treatment. Out of respect of these rules, and out of respect for these patients, I will not provide a detailed response to the reviews. However, while I have compassion for these patients, the reviews are not accurate. I would not treat patients in such manner. I place the highest priority upon my patients? care and treatment. I have not treated patients rudely or unethically. I believe my record and reputation among both patients and health care professionals bears this out. If these patients would like to contact me personally to discuss their experience, I would be happy to speak with them about it. \r\n\r\nSincerely,\r\nDr. Sara Jurney\r\nComplete Women's Care Center
