Try the meat pies, they are GREAT!
Everything pastry-related they make is sinfully delicious.
Sandwiches are tasty, the breads are all top-notch. I like the cranberry bread.
Service could be faster but we need to remember that this is a small-town business, just relax folks! Ordering the special is usually faster and the meat pies don't take long either(they do sell out sometimes so get there early for lunch if you want one!).

The food is mostly delicious (except for skimpy chicken tarragon salad and disappointing grilled cheese). We love the sugar cookies, but have to wipe off half the icing because there is so much of it. My only other complaint is that the service is really slow, unless you are the only customer there. If there is even ONE person ahead of you, prepare to stand there for a good 20 minutes. I have been going to this bakery for more than a year, because I love the food, but the service frustrates me every time!! There is usually an older woman with glasses and short, curly dark hair who waits on me and she couldn't be less concerned about hurrying! Once she was talking on her cell phone while I stood there for a good 5 minutes, and it was clearly a personal call. Very rude. I don't know if she is the owner, or what, but she needs to take some lessons on customer service. Honestly, if the food wasn't so enticing, I wouldn't bother to go back. (Lucky for them, I love the food, so I am a return customer)

Every small town in America has their little secret favorite places to go that make their town unique. Places that any passerby wanting to experience the best from that region would want to know about. Places that really care about their craft, care about quality in all they do and are involved in their community. Such is the special place of Flour Girls and Dough Boys. I discovered them on accident one day (in this case, I know it wasn't really an accident), turning down an obscure little side street and there it was, perfect in its place. Now, I make great memories when I go on special dates with my kids, we have a cookie, read a few kid's books they have, pick up some great bread and spend time together. Everyone should know about this place! I'll continue to frequent this much needed taste of Artisan Americana.

For a small town, this is a good bakery. Every item is great and the service is friendly. The prices are okay and they have weekly specials on various items. The special changes depending on the day of the week. I like the assortment of pie flavors. Don't forget to use your happenings book coupon.
