I took the 01 Lexus ES300 to Cox Auto Service yesterday to replace the rear brakes and to get a brake fluid flush. Tony, the owner, was very enthusiastic and seemed like a great guy. \n\nIn short, go there to get your brakes replaced if you have a non ""luxury"" vehicle, but don't go there for a brake fluid flush.\n\nHe estimated $150 for brakes ($75 pads, $75 labor) and $55 for the flush. Then things kinda got wonky. Their website has a coupon - $100 to install new pads, but he said the price was still $150, that he had already put the deduction in there and then haphazardly threw out $250 as the price without that coupon. I asked him why it wasn't $100, and he said it was because Lexus was a luxury vehicle. I accepted that answer. \n\nBut I went home and did some checking: I feel the $50 extra charge for a ""luxury vehicle"" was bull. The brake pads they used ""BrakeBest"" was available online for $28! And the exact same brake pads can also be used in a 01 Toyota Camry (to all those who didn't know, Lexus is a division of Toyota) which is definitely not a luxury vehicle.\n\nReplacing the pads took 30 minutes, pop the wheel, take off a bolt from the caliper, reset the piston, swap the pads - standard in almost every car, nothing special, nothing meriting charging extra.\n\nBut you know what, that price isn't too horrible, I was getting quotes up to $240 for just the rear brakes from other places. For $150, the atmosphere was friendly and my mechanic, Al was awesome.\n\nHowever, I called ""The Pit Stop"" and they quoted me $145, $55 for pads, $90 labor - might be a place to look into in the future.\n\nAs for the brake fluid flush, that was a total rip off. It wasn't a ""flush"" at all. I expected them to open the bleeder valves and ""flush"" the old fluid out...nope, all they did was use a rubber bulb, something like a turkey baster, and suck out as much of the old fluid as they could and then fill it with new brake fluid. I could have done the same thing for $15, the cost of brake fluid. \n\nWhat I was after was a complete flush of the old fluid, and that's what I assumed I would get, but that's what you get for assuming. ""The Pit Stop"" quoted me $45 labor + $15 fluid for a real flush where they jack up the car, open the bleeder valves and really drain out all the old fluid. For $5 more, I would go there.\n\nOh, and another thing, I didn't get my 10% student discount, or if I did, I didn't know about it...\n\nWould I recommend the place? Like I said, go there to get your brakes replaced if you have a non ""luxury"" vehicle, but don't go there for a brake fluid flush.\n\nWin me over and I wouldn't mind whatever the price may be in exchange for a good relationship. However, next time, I think I will try out ""The Pit Stop"", but if I do return to Cox, it'll be for their friendly service and their awesome mechanic Al.

The guys at Cox Auto Service, are friendly, professional, and their prices are fair. They fixed my 2004 Audi-A4 for a lot less then the dealer prices.

I challenge this guy who is claims that he was taken by Cox Auto Service. The guys at Cox Auto Service, are very nice & honest..\r\n\r\nProduce an invoice from Cox Auto Service, to show that you been in Cox Auto Service. If they are in error, they will make it right, or they will refund your money.

Took my car for AC diagnosis and repair. No diagnosis was done and I was told to replace the climate control unit and was given an estimate of $300.\n\nI took the same vehicle to the dealer and after further inspection, they found out that it was a blown fuse. I do not recommend this place AT ALL. I am not sure how this place can get such good reviews unless they write the reviews themselves off course :-).

My a/c was blowing barely cold Air. Last year I took my car to the dealer, they recommended to replace my car's a/c Hoses, filter, flush the system and re charge, Cost $650.00. This year I took my car To my New Mechanic; Cox Auto Service, They checked my car, they only recommended to replace 4-O rings, evacuate system, and re charge my a/c. Total cost $ 195.00 They also gave me one year warranty. Now my a/c works, and I am so great full from Cox Auto Service for saving me $455.
Thank you

My car, 2002 Mercedes C230 brakes was squeaking, and eventually start grinding. I went to Fire Stone for inspection. they gave me an estimate of $1,200. for my brakes. they were going to change every thing in my brake system. I saw Cox auto service in the same shopping center. I took my car to them for brake inspection. Cox auto Service, only recommended front Brake pads, front rotors, rear brake pads, lubing all four calipers sliding pins, and flush brake fluid. Estimate $750.00 \r\nI was amazed with the difference in the prices and repairs. I went to my dealer, they recommended front brake pads, rotors, rear pads, and rotors, and flush my brake fluid.Estimate $1,350. \r\nI went back to Cox Auto service. they fixed my brakes for $750.00 and they gave me 24 month or 24,000 miles warranty. My car brakes works great, no noise. I really appreciate these guys. They are great.

I had brake problem with my 2004 - Audi A4, for some times, and I had my brakes check by my dealer and two other Mechanic shops. I had estimates of $715. to $950.
I needed both front and rear brakes, and rotors. although I was quite concerned about my car brakes problems, I could not fix my brakes due to the fact that I lost half of my income in the past two years.

My best friend Sara, gave me a coupon from
COX AUTO SERVICE, I took my car to Cox Auto Service, they inspected my brakes, and they also recommended that I should replace both my front and rear brake pads and rotors, estimate $575.
I am very pleased with Cox Auto Service, not only for their low prices, also for their friendly and professional service and their understandings.

I asked tony the owner of Cox Auto Service; why his prices are much lower then the other three repair shops? He said he understands that most people are having hard time these days to get by, let alone the unexpected expenses.

Thank you.

My car broke down on miramar road, I called Google info for nearest repair shop. Google referred me to three repair businesses near me. I called the first two shops, Neither one sounded professional enough for me to be able to trust them. After all, we all have some good and some bad experiences with mechanic shops.
Finally, I called Cox Auto Service, I spoke with Tony Atta, the owner and the manager of Cox Auto Service. He offered me free towing with in 45 minutes, and the tow truck arrived with in 25 minutes.
They check my car, I had a broken timing belt. They dropped me off to my house, and my car was fixed the next day. Total cost under $300.00
I love these guys. I refer these guys to every women, and Nice guys.
