Dr. Dailey is a HORRIBLE excuse for a vetenary professional. She cut open my 5 month old puppy because she "thought" she saw a string in her stomach. Turns out it was gas and we got slapped $2,000 vet bill. Not to mention that during the entire ordeal Dr. Dailey belittled me, made me feel inadequate and was downright rude. I just moved to the area not long ago and would have gone somewhere else if I knew better.

Stay far away from this place, they're in it strictly for the money. Also, stay far, far away from Dr. Dailey -- I found out not long after my own ordeal that I'm not the only one who has gone through this type of drama with her and Trumbull Animal Hospital.

The trumbull vets have been very nice to me all the times I have taken my dog there. The techs are always kind. Everyone there loved seeing our dogs and cats.
--------
Pros: Very friendly caring staff, also very patient with nervous dogs. Especially when my dog is terrified of getting her nails cut.
Cons: None

Horrible business manner. My dog was sick and had to stay at the hospital overnight, I told the doctor, I could not afford more than $400, so not do to anything beyond that. The next day when I went to pick my dog up the bill was over $900! They had done procedures without my permission!!! And didn't even bother to call me to tell me what procedures they thought they needed to do on my dog. Steer clear of this animal hospital.

I have taken my dog to Doctor Daily twice now, once because he was sick and could not keep his food down, and again for scheduled vaccinations. She has been nothing but professional and pleasant to deal with. She takes my calls when I have a question, calls me back the same day if I have to leave her a message, I'd recommend her to anyone.

I took my dog to them last summer when he was having trouble keeping food down. They did a series of tests and kept him overnight on an IV. The next day, they said he would not eat and that they would not release him until he ate food. I came down there to hand-feed him his own food. He ate no problem, but he was obviously under a lot of stress. The doctor had no diagnosis as the tests came out clean; so I said I wanted to take him home. They said no, as you can't just take the dog off the IV suddenly, and that he might need surgery (for what? you have no diagnosis). My instincts told me to take him home, so I insisted. After paying the huge bill, we left the building - as soon as we got outside, my dog urinated for at least a full minute. The reason he was stressed was because, being as well trained as he is, did not do his business in his crate and held it for about 27 hours; and no one took him outside to go to the bathroom. If I had not taken him home when I did, he might have gotten even more ill. Rather than consider this as the reason why he wouldn't eat, all the vet could come up with was that he might need surgery - I kept getting the feeling that they were anxious to get him under the knife for money. In the routine visit before that, they tried to talk me into some kind of non-critical eye surgery too. I feel like they will come up with any excuse to get your pet under the knife for the sake of money, without any considerable to the health and well-being of the pet.

I have been bringing our pets there for 25+ years, and quite honestly, they "used" to be very caring and I would say, Dr. Kahn STILL IS, but rather unfortunately it is NOW run strictly as a business. I recently had a very BAD experience there with one of the vets (who shall remain nameless) who hurt my dog quite badly. I filed a complaint with the office against her and was NOT asked for my side of the story, just received a very "cold" call from one of the secretaries saying they were terminating our relationship, and that my pet and I were no longer allowed there and they would mail me my records and to find another vet. This particular vet hurt my dog by making him bleed profusely when she cut his nails way too short (she is the vet, so you would honestly "think" she would "know better"), but no, there were two (2) clothes full of blood, and when I got home, he started to bled again, all over my home, my car and their waiting room (I had to bring him back to make the bleeding stop, but would only allow the tech to see him). It was only after I saw the very nice tech there, that he actually cleaned my pets paw and finally stopped the bleeding. The vet then tried to blame me for not getting his nails cut often enough (which I do faithfully every two months, but she said it needed to be every 6 weeks... like those two weeks really make a difference). His foot then swelled and he had trouble walking on it. So I made an appointment with the only vet there I completely trusted (Dr. Kahn) and I did what any other person who loves their pet as much as I do, I filed a complaint against the vet who hurt my baby so badly. And what do they do, certainly not apologise to me for hurting my baby. NO, of course not, they cancelled my appointment with Dr. Kahn and again, the head vet did not even offer me the courtesy of getting my side, but just decided to send me my records and tell me I am never allowed back there. How disheartening that after such a long relationship they would be so very cold hearted. They care nothing about your pets, they only care about the money they can take from you, by making appointments you don't need, suggesting medicines you do not need, etc. They are not welcoming, they are not friendly and they simply stop actually caring about your pets and started to run the hospital as strictly a business. The LEAST they could have done, was gotten my side of the story and apologised to me for treating my dog so poorly.

I have been taking my 2 dogs there since I moved 2 years ago. I do not like the carpeting in the waiting room or the fabric chairs. I don't see how they can be kept flea, tick and germ free. My dogs always smell the carpet and want to go on it, and sometimes they do, which it seems lots of other dogs also do too. The vets and staff are nice and I never have to wait too long.
