August 23 my cat was attacked by two stray dogs on my porch. My sister got to the porch in time to stop the assault, but Deuce the cat was shaken up pretty bad.She brought him into house and we saw no blood so we thought he needed rest.

This is a great facility! The staff is caring and compassionate. Convenient hours. I have 3 young dogs and an elderly blind dog and they have been wonderful in every way!

I found the staff to be kind, compassionate and caring with both my cat and dog on two separate visits. We plan to use Animal Hospital for all our vet needs in the future and would happily recommend them to anyone.

Our family volunteers at the local shelter regularly. Recently we became the caretakers of two orphaned puppies (barely 2 weeks old). Animal Hospital, and particularly Dr. Davis, was wonderful in advising us. Unlike a previous vet we've had at a different facility, they didn't require a second office visit to answer a simple follow-up question and said questions were answered promptly. Many of the fees were waived for us and the staff was always delighted to see our puppies and treated them carefully and with respect.

Our experience, essentially, was the complete opposite of the other poster's, so much that after our visits we plan not only to return in the future (should we have any other fosters) but also to switch our terrier's care to Animal Hospital. I'm uncertain as to whether that was one vet assistant but I hope that such a review won't turn others away. I saw a great many others in the waiting room as well who were also satisfied with their service.

I've also been made aware that some staff volunteer their time at the local shelter to check on the health of the animals there. Once again, they were all very generous and kind to us.

I would certainly recommend Animal Hospital for anyone looking for an open and friendly vet.

This place is HORRIBLE! My usual vets office is closed on weekends, and one Saturday my cat was feeling very ill. He was moaning, had a very droopy face, and he did not want to move or be touched. I was very worried, so I brought him to this vets office. He already felt terrible, so naturally, he didnt like strangers poking and prodding on him. The vets assistant; however, kept him still by clamping her hand around my cats entire head and pressing him down against the table. Clamping your hand around a cats head is naturally going to put the cat in a defense mode. I have never EVER seen anyone at a vets office do this. My usual vets office holds him by the skin of his neck, pressing down, while they rub his head to help keep him comfortable and let him know theyre not trying to hurt him. He stays pretty calm while they do this. At this vets office though, he became very agitated (since he felt bad and had a stranger clamping his entire head). The veterinarian and his assistant kept griping and making it very obvious that they did not like my cat. Their behavior was extremely rude and unprofessional. While the veterinarian was taking my cats temperature at his rear end, I pet his head a little to help keep him calm. I was nowhere near the veterinarian and definitely not in his way, but he looked up and told me with a very condescending tone to not touch the cat. I was appalled. I know my cat better than anyone, and if anyone can calm him down, I can. Not to mention, I am the owner and am paying the veterinarian, and if I want to comfort my cat, I can! All the veterinarian did was take my cats temperature and tell me that he had a fever. He then told me that he was not going to be able to check anything else because of my cats behavior, even though his and his assistants actions were what agitated my cat. I have never seen a veterinarian not even attempt to find an animals illness. What are they even working there for? His assistant then TOSSED my cat back into his kennel and tried to quickly shut it before my cat turned around. My cat, feeling obviously threatened, swatted at the assistant, and she yelled, Why, you little!!! She then looked at me as if she suddenly remembered I was standing there, and she stopped her sentence. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior. Who yells at a customers animal, almost calling them a name, right in front of the customer? Even if they did not like my cat, why make it so blatantly obvious? I thought veterinary hospitals were employed by people who loved and cared for animals. Well, not this one. The following Monday, I took my cat to his normal veterinarian. He was treated much better, and he was very calm during the visit, allowing them to do a full check-up. I will NEVER return Animal Hospital of West Monroe.
