Our old farm was closed a few days ago so we were new to Johnson's Farm. My wife and I were excited to be taking our granddaughter to the farm to pick apples and pumpkins. It has become an Autumn tradition in our family.
We just missed the hourly ride to the fields and here we learned it would cost the 3 of us $8.95 each... $27 to ride in a trailer to the field to pick apples and pumpkins which were over priced as well...$1.79 per pound! This turned me off because our old farm, Conte Farm provides a free ride to the fields, but we were at Johnson's and the child spotted a jungle gym and asked if she could play.
Sure we said, it was a good way to kill time while waiting for the rip-off tractor ride, but the playground was fenced off and an old man at a gate informed us she would need to pay $3.50 for admittance to the monkey bars and if we wanted to watch her (as any responsible parent or grandparent would), there was an additional charge of $4.00 per adult. This really turned me off!
"I'm surprised you don't charge for parking", I told him. "I hadn't thought of that", the old man replied, "Great Idea!"
He was calling his farm hands to surround the parking lot and extort even more funds from the customers. My wife, the granddaughter and I narrowly escaped the blockade.
As we drove away, from the corner of my eye, I noticed the farm hands were hoisting a customer by his heels and they were shaking the last nickles from his pockets. (a bit exagerated, but thats how we felt about this place) happy ending... we found a real farm not so far away from Johnson's Trap.

Johnson's has a great thing going and they know it...why do I feel this way? Because the charge for practically EVERYTHING! They have this amazing Discovery Barnyard playground for kids to play in, and I can understand charging for kids to play in it. BUT they also charge adults! To stand there and supervise their own children. It's ridiculous. So it basically costs you $9.75 for your child to play in a glorified playground...and that's only if ONE parent goes in to supervise them. Way to split up a family, Johnson's! I have complained to management about this and they claim it is an advantage for parents too b/c there is a dedicated bathroom and service window for ice cream...newsflash, it takes the staff just as long to get to you through this service window and the bathroom outside the play area is just fine. I love Johnson's for their hayride activities and their country store, but charging adults for being responsible and watching their children is wrong. I think it's time for us to find another place for annual apple/pumpkin picking family trip. It's a shame.

Very nice playground for kids under 3 as well as over 8. The pedal car tractor for older kids are a hit as are the farm animals. The baked goods are great and the place is good family fun. They have nice fall festivals and good apple and pumpkin picking. The corn maze isn't bad either.

A great place to take kids for hayrides and picking various crops such as apples, pumpkins, corn, etc... Goto their website to see what is in season for picking. They also have farm animals to see and they sell some produce and baked goods. The cider donuts are very delicious.

Johnson's farm offers many fun things for the kids and adults. Apple and pumpkin picking are our favorites. They do seem to charge for everything which can get pricey.

This is a really awesome farm for adults and kids. They have hayrides, pumpkin picking and special events for kids to do. They have awesome homemade pies and apple cider doughnuts. I live the bluebery lemon pie and strawberry rhubarb pie the best. Recommend going and enjoying everything there.

We have been going here for a few years, first it was just for our pumpkins, now we go for apples, peaches, blueberries, strawberries and corn. My son loves to go on the hayride and pick his own fruit.
