Based upon my experience, Dr. Michael Wiekamp, DVM owner of "A MOBILE VET" should have his license revoked if in fact he is licensed to practice. He is one of the most if not THE most unprofessional "professional" I have ever come across.

In short, I was informed that my ex-wife had called Dr. Wiekamp to my house to perform a biopsy on Maximus' right shoulder. Upon hearing this, I placed a call to Dr. Wiekamp to find out the results, and prognosis. Right off the bat he became combative and verbally abusive questioning who I was, if I lived at the house etc. He then said, and I quote "YOU MUST BE SHORT" with that, he hung up on me! What? I was stunned! Did I just hear what I think I heard? I am thinking this guy cannot be for real! Fortunately, I had been taping the conversation. My God, this is not a matter of national security, I merely wanted to get information about my dogs health!
I gave it 15 minutes then called him back. I asked him if he was ready to have an adult conversation. He said he did not know who I was, all he would divulge was that Max was on antibiotics. At this point I had had it...I again told him who I was and that if he so much as touched Maximus again, that he WOULD CERTAINLY FIND OUT WHO I AM!.
After this drama, I took Max to see true professionals at Southern California Veterinary Surgical Hospital in Irvine. There, the Oncologist and Surgeon diagnosed Max with Osteosarcoma (Bone Cancer) in his right shoulder. Max was lame due to the deterioration of bone.

In any case. The Surgeon made several calls to Michael D Wiekamp request Max's records. Wiekamp never returned her calls, nor did he send the records she had requested.

So, I decided to do some research into his history as a veterinarian and was not surprised at what I found. Michael D. Wiekamp has has a sordid veterinary record. In other words a sleazy, dirty, seedy, seamy, unsavory, tawdry, cheap, debased, degenerate, dishonorable, disreputable, discreditable, contemptible, ignominious, shameful, abhorant person he is.

Some of his history can be found through the Department of Consumer Affairs, and that is just the tip of the iceberg. I am having a blast filing complaint after complaint to the different agencies. Oh, he will know who I am!

As another review on Michael D Wiekamp stated, if you LOVE YOUR PET, "RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM MICHAEL D WIEKAMP! To me, you cannot run fast enough.

So take heed my fellow animal lovers and owners!

PS. No professional and reputable mobile veterinarian would show up in a truck with a crooked flimsy magnetic sign on the trucks door!

Dr. Wiekamp has compassionately seen me through the loss of 2 pets in the past five years, both of whom I had the priviledge of loving for over 18 years! I am so grateful that they were able to fall asleep peacefully and quietly!! He is a genuine blessing.

Pros: No-Nonsense, Compassionate Care

Cons: None

.

Dr Wiekamp is a very straight forward vetinarian. He does what needs to be done, and does not try to sell you a bunch of things you don't need for your pet. Also, really convenient that he comes to your home.
