I took my Dodge Magnum to this shop for a new engine. I really care about my car and I want it to last a long time so I wanted to take it to a shop that cares about their work. After calling around a lot of places this shop seemed to have the most knowledge and what they offered was definitely the best quality. I had my car towed in for free and they gave me a free loaner car to drive so I didn't have to car-pool with my husband anymore. The loaner car definitely wasn't my Magnum but it worked and I can't complain. My car was ready to pick up about two weeks later. When I picked my car up the owner spent almost 20 minutes with me going over the work that was done and giving me helpful tips on better car care. It was explained to me why my previous engine failed, that on-time oil changes are a necessity for Dodge engines (they have a "sludge" problem), to have yearly cooling system check-ups and that their shop offers free engine check-ups. I am very satisfied with the work and I am very grateful I found this shop. I feel safe knowing that they worked on my car and I would recommend this shop to anyone.

I found North Geogia Automotive on craigslist advertising the cheapest motor that I had found. I called the Automotive shop and spoke to Shawn who stated that he was the owner. I had my dad on 3 way so that he could verify the information and the work that was to be done to my car. Shawn presented himself to be a very nice person as he was trying to get business from me to install the motor in my car. He stated to me that he could pick my car up on the same day that the repairs needed to be done and that I could get my car back in one week and that he would come to pick up my car anywhere in the state of georgia and that the towing was free from his company. My car was picked up by Gibbs Towing and Automotive Service and the driver who called himself (Twiggs) called before he came and picked up my vehicle. A week later I received a call from Shawn stating that I had more repairs to be done to my car which was an additional $300.00 towards the $1,695.00 that he quoted me on the car and that I had to pay a $500.00 deposit to get started working on my car so I paid this over the phone and the remainder was to be paid once the repairs were done. I received a call from Shawn and he stated that my car was ready a week later, so I paid the remainder balance via telephone with his wife over the phone who stated that she was the bookkeeper. I had previously asked her how much would it be to tow my car back to me and she stated $85.00, and Shawn told me $100.00 so I called back and spoke to his wife and paid the $85.00 for my car to be towed back to me. Upon paying my final bill I was told that my car would be to me by Midnight on Friday and that Gibbs Towing would be bringing my car back to me. I waited all night and the next morning I woke up and my car still had not arrived so I called to North Georgia and spoke to Shawn (Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.) and asked him where was my car and that I was supposed to get it back to me by midnight the prior night and he stated (Very Nasty) that he was not responsible for my car once it left his shop and that I needed to contact the towing company. I then looked on my caller id where the Tow truck driver had called my house when he was on his way to pick up my vehicle. I called the number over 30 times back to back and noone never answered the phone. I left several messages and by this time it is 11:00 a.m. and still no answer. I then called back to North Georgia and they must have Caller ID because after calling there so much Shawn (Owner) answered the phone and called me by my last name (Very Nasty). I asked him where was my car and that I paid $85.00 for my car to be towed back to me on Friday and I still had not gotten my car back yet. I asked Shawn for the address of the towing company and the owners telephone number he stated that he did not know the address and he did not have the owners telephone number! (Really) this is a company that you use to tow all of your vehicles and you don't have an address? I spoke to Shawn again on the phone and told him that I was calling to file a police report for a stolen car and he said to me laughing and talking very nasty("Noone wants to steal your car and there is nothing the police will do) I searched the internet and found an address for Gibbs Towing located at 205 Joe Louis Dr. Atlanta Ga. 30314 this is off MLK and Hamilton E Holmes train station. By this time it is 12:00 p.m. after constantly calling the towing company I finally speak with the driver who stated that his name was (Twiggs) he stated that he has been waiting for the owner and that he may not have a job and that my car was still sitting inside the fence on the tow truck and that he does not have keys to the gate. I then asked my husband to drive me to the business so that I could see what was going on at this place, after driving over 30 minutes to the address for Gibbs Towing and Automotive I locate the address that leads me to a residential area in a not so good neighborhood, this was a very unusual situation. Upon arrival to the address there was my car sitting in the driveway at someones house next to the Gibbs Tow Truck and it was not on the tow truck as the driver told me, so my husband went to the door bell to be greeted by a neighbor next door and he stated that noone lives there. My husband then (with our spare key) get into the car and drive away. Not once did the towing company call to ask me if I came to pick up the car and that it was no longer there by this time it was 1:00 p.m.I then called on Monday morning and asked to speak with the owner to make him aware of the situation and the guy (Twiggs) stated that the owner was not available so I told him that I needed my car key and could he deliver it to me since he did not deliver my car as I paid the $85.00 and asked for a refund for the towing.

DO NOT TRUST THEM! PAID FOR SERVICES THAT WERE NEVER ACTUALLY DONE!

I brought my vehicle here after a car accident. The insurance company paid for multiple things to be done. NG Auto received payment from them for the repairs and I have discovered that many of the repairs they were paid to do were never done. The repairs they did do were poor quality. My bumper has a gap under the front head light and the fender is now cracking again. I attempted to resolve this issue with NG Auto by having them issue a refund so I could have this done properly. They claimed no responsibility. I'm a young female and was clear deceived by a sleazy mechanic. DO NOT USE NG AUTO. Plenty of other mechanics in Acworth area.

Ms. Parks never paid for any service that was not performed. When she first contacted our shop, she stated that she had attempted to repair her own vehicle, and it turned out to be too much of a job. She stated that she had purchased a bumper and marker light from ebay and wanted us to do the work with the parts she had purchased. Unfortunately, the marker light was incorrect and unusable, so we installed a used light. Her original insurance quote was paying $1101.53. She asked if we could help her save some money and do the work. When we got the car in, we tore it down and filed a supplement for what we found. They paid a supplement for $834.96. All the work was completed, except for the tie bar, which was repaired due to the fact that the part was unavailable and the left radiator side panel which was unavailable. The fender on her vehicle was damaged in a previous accident and had been repaired with bondo. The insurance company would not replace the fender due to the fact that it was previous damage. We, in turn, called Ms. Parks and informed her we could replace it and do the work properly for a small cost. We also offered to paint the car, because the paint was in subpar condition all over the vehicle. Ms. Parks refused both because she was going to sell the vehicle to some "young kid" in Acworth. Two months after she left our shop, Ms. Parks came in complaining about the work. The gap that she was concerned about was due to the aftermarket bumper (that she purchased) not being CAPA certified and not fitting properly. We offered to take the vehicle in and fix it, but she refused service and demanded a full refund. We only charged Ms. Parks $500 of the $1101.53 and gave her $601.53 back. This was the difference for the tie bar being repaired instead of replaced, not replacing the radiator side panel (an air-dammed piece of plastic) which was unavailable, the difference between the new signal lamp assembly versus the used we had to purchase because of availability, and the cost of the bumper she supplied. None of the aforementioned parts are in any way associated with the safety standards of this vehicle, they are trim and accessory, not functional. Ms. Parks claims that we were paid for a new OEM headlight, which is untrue. It is nowhere on either the original claim or the supplement. We offered to repaint the fender and readjust the gap at no cost, to which Ms. Parks refused service and demanded a full refund. We have a warranty on our work and would be happy to honor it. We take offense to the fact that Ms. Parks is making a statement that we are "ripping her off, are a sleazebag company, and taking advantage of a young female". When Ms. Parks first came to us with a Mercury Cougar, we saved her from another company and repaired her vehicle properly with many additional repairs for free to help her out. Then we gave her, her vehicle when she did not have all the money and let her make payments, interest free. She returned to us as a repeat customer, because she trusted us and we had treated her fairly in the past. Does this sound like we take advantage of people, let alone "young females"? We gave her the difference back and offered to repair it at no charge as well. There is nothing further we could have done as a company to appease Ms. Parks in this situation and have it resolve in a mutually amicable manner.

I had my Cadillac worked on at North GA back in January 2011 and it is still running strong. Since then I have had the engine in my husbands Ranger replaced and several small jobs done to vehicles in the family. This shop is very busy but they are upfront and they have always done the work as promised and I have always gotten a warranty to back it up. I appreciate this shop so much because I can't afford to keep pouring money into my cars.Thank you again!!!

I took my 2001 Cadillac DeVille to have a motor replaced. I have waited six months to write this review because I wanted to make sure that the company is as good as I thought it was. Previous to going to North Georgia, I took my car to two other shops to have work done. Between the misdiagnosing and improper repair on my vehicle both at a dealer and an independent shop; it cost me over $4000. I finally found North Georgia Automotive, apparently specialists on Cadillac's and they put a great motor in my car. They offered me an upgrade on my motor and I spent a little more than half the money I already spent, but received a motor that runs flawlessly. In the six months since my engine was replaced, they offered a courtesy reinspection after two weeks that I gladly took them up on and it checked out fine. Approximately two months ago, I noticed a small oil leak and called them. They asked me to check the oil level to make sure I wasn't low and come by as soon as possible. It turned out that when I got my oil changed at a local lube service place, they failed to tighten the drain plug screw all the way. North Georgia not only tightened it, they put a new nylon washer on to insure there would be no more leaking. I'm just really happy with the quality of work and the service I received. It's hard to find a good, honest mechanic nowadays and I have found one in North Georgia.

I have had two engines and a transmission replaced here. They aren't your typical repair shop that buys engines from a junkyard and slaps it in your car, you get more than your money's worth. They have the whole car!! They helped me out with a mirror and new interior as well on my suburban and help me with all my vehicle needs. I won't go anywhere else.

I am from Kentucky originally, lived in Atlanta for 3 years, and now have moved back to Kentucky, but I still come down to visit. On one of my trips, the transmission on my car let go on the way into town right down the road from this shop. Their tow truck driver was happening past me and stopped to help me, just to be nice. He ended up towing me into the shop just to see what happened.

When I found out it was my transmission, my heart fell into the pit of my stomach. I was only down for a long weekend and it looked like I was gonna spend it in a Motel 6 waiting on my car, alienating my friends for rides. To my surprise and delight, they told me that they had a used one in stock they would install in my car for under $1000. They also were going to lend me a car for free (with a deposit toward the work being done) (YAY!! NO RENTAL!!) and they would have it done by Saturday afternoon so I could get home in time.

OMG!!! Guardian angels must've been looking out for me. I got to go see my friends and have an awesome time without a whole lot of worry. Saturday afternoon I picked up my car (WHO DOES A TRANSMISSION IN ONE DAY TO HELP YOU OUT?!?!). Everything was back to normal and it drove all the way home just fine.

To this day my car's transmission is still running fine (knock on wood!)!! Thank goodness for North Georgia Auto!!

First of all, I??d like to say that I was extremely skeptical, as I am of all automotive services. I have been a loyal customer to a local shop that has always been honest, had the best prices, and done me right. Shaun at North Georgia Auto was able to quote me $500 savings on a significantly better used transmission. My regular mechanic wasn??t able to find anything even close in mileage. Still cautious, I drove to the shop to check it out and met Shaun and the staff. Feeling at ease, I dropped my car off the next day. A major perk is that N GA Auto has loaner cars free of charge (deposit required which goes toward the bill). You won??t be driving anything fancy, but the cars will get you where you need to go. I had a little issue with my loaner and Shaun swapped it out right away.
Next, Shaun called me and told me that my transmission mounts were broken, and it would cost around $200 more bucks. My initial reaction is always skepticism, so I pried a bit. He told me that they weren??t a necessity, but it could lead to the demise of my engine mounts, and, since the transmission was already out- it would be the best idea. He only charged me for parts, no labor on the mounts.
Just picked up my car yesterday- Shaun showed me my old mounts to put my mind at ease. They were thoroughly busted, which explained why my car was shaking so bad. My car literally feels new at this point. The tranny shifts smooth as butter, the shaking has subsided. I will definitely be a repeat customer. I was charged exactly what I was told I would be, and the warranties are fair. Shaun went out of his way to help me out and to get my car to me when I needed it.

I broke down in front of this shop over a year ago. Even though they were incredibly busy, they took the time to help me out and get me on the way home to my family. I never forgot that. Last month my transmission went out so I took it to them. Once again they took excellent care of me at a price a ton cheaper than anyone else I called. I will trust them with all my automotive needs even though I live 30 miles from them. I would recommend them to anyone.

Great family business. I can't thank them enough! I came to this shop over eight months ago because the check engine light came on in my Cadillac DeVille.I thought my engine was going bad. After diagnosing my car they told me the engine was "misfiring due to plugs and wires." I was thrilled to hear this because I was expecting to pay for an engine replacement. I think there are shops out there that would have been happy to take my money for an engine. It's been over eight months and my car is still running smooth. I appreciate this company and recommend it to everyone I know.

Anna- It is hard being a girl this day and age and one thing that we pride ourselves on is that we are fair no matter your race, gender, sex, creed, religion, whatever. We don't see people like that here and are glad that we were able to help you out in a time of need. You can trust us and we hope to see you in the future for your automotive needs!!

I had my engine replaced here in two vehicles over the past couple of years. I got my DeVille running for my son for under 2300 and my Durango 4.7 for less than 3000. I was going to buy my son a car, but I was able to get him in a car that was in excellent condition that I owned outright by repair!!
Recently, my wife got in a wreck and I called them to see if they could recommend someone who would be reasonable. They ended up having a body shop as well and saved us our deductible!! They are the only shop I'll go to for all my repair needs. Their volume of business speaks for itself.

I took my van in for a used transmission. I was told it would take 1-2 days and it was done in 1 day. Not only did thy do what they said, my van never ran this smooth before. The thing that attracted me to this shop was the warranty. It came with a 3 month warranty, all the other shops had a 1 month warranty. They did a great job, Thanks!

I had just had my first wreck ever and totaled my minivan. I'm a single mom and money was incredibly tight. I had to have looked at 60 different cars when I found a little Escort. I bought it and not even two weeks later the engine blew. To my dismay I learned there is no such thing as lemon law in Georgia. My engine was replaced by North Georgia for an incredibly good price, hundreds less than other places. My car runs like a dream now. About a month later my son's car's transmission went out. They replaced it for $850. They have kept me and my kids on the road at a fair price and gave us cars to drive while they worked on ours at no charge. I won't go anywhere else!!
