For anyone searching for an excellent Atlanta private school. Marist is well worth considering.

The school includes grades 7-12 with a total student body of about 1037. Located in Dunwoody, Georgia, the school really does deliver what it says it will ... an excellent education, without a lot of self congratulatory fanfare.

Although the school is Catholic, 25% of the student population is non-Catholic, with the school readily embracing religious diversity as part of the school culture.

The students are well grounded and the parent poulation is as well. The school is generally conservative, but not closed-minded. In fact, we have witnessed more acts of kindness and humility within the school than anywhere else in our 20 years of living in Atlanta which includes having a child attend another well known private school for 7 years.

The facilities are not the biggest or best, so for those looking for an expansive campus with all the bells and whistles, a Lovett or Westminster would be a better bet. But, if you are looking for an honest academic environment with a hard-working, dedicated faculty and students who graduate with a meaningful education and a selfless value system, Marist is the best choice in Atlanta.

The ideal Marist student is one who is not afraid to work hard, who is inquisitive and open-minded, who likes to participate fully in a variety of activities and sports ... and who will take personal responisbility for their own success. Thi is not a school for excuses, parental manipulation or over-rationalization!

You may hear less about Marist than some of the bigger campus schools, but this does not mean that it is not every bit as good, if not better. We are extraordinarily happy with our choice of Marist.
