This time i brought my dog with me and i was happy we could stay here. (i had been here before). It was obvious that the dog was also comfortable here-she had been uneasy at the hotel where we spent 2 nights prior to checking in here.

The Holiday Inn in Carlsbad is one of the nicer Holiday Inns that I have stayed at. A very reasonable price especially considering the location. I would definitely recommend it.

As with all hotels in this area, it is a little pricy for what you get. However, it is clean and they do offer coupons for kids 12 and under to eat free (1 child for each adult). The TGIF's attached is horrible, don't bother going, regardless how quaint it looks with its lighthouse motif. Their food is expensive and terrible; really it?s just not edible. Instead go across the street to the outlet mall, eat at Ruby's Diner with your coupon or one of the other places nearby if you don't use the coupon (see review for King's Fish House next door to hotel, mmmmm). Overall this hotel is relatively convenient to most things in the Carlsbad area (GIA, Legoland and the Music History Museum are all just a couple of blocks away, as is the beach).
