front desk never knows anything and to get a refund usually it takes 6 weeks because it comes from corporate office. i am still waiting for a refund of about $14.00. it has been 16 weeks and still haven't gotten my refund and finally after more than 7 calls the office manager finally had the decency to get on the phone and speak to me because i told the receptionist i was going to find someone to complain to. don't buy anything there u are not sure of ( i bought allergy medicine for my dog! ) which i dont think she needed. these doctors want to fill you medicine cabinet with unnecessary meds.

We went to VCA because it is FREE!!! to get your first check-up when you adopt a dog from PAWS (an awesome no-kill shelter on Clybourn). They have lots of clinics around town, but Chi-North is the closest to our house. They don't take appointments, but that's not a problem, as they generally can get you into see a vet in 10-15 min (usually sooner). The staff and doctors there are wonderful. Everyone is into making sure you know everything you need to before you leave. They take great care of Buster when he stops in. As new puppy owners, we have lots of questions and concerns. They are very patient with us, and provide many of the initial services for little to no cost due to their relationship with PAWS.
