I tried several chiropractors in the Seattle area before a friend directed me to Dr. Scott and the great staff at Belltown Spine and Wellness. I've struggled with neck and upper back pain for several years and could never get long-term

Its like an auto repair shop for your body. You wouldn't go years without performing an alignment on your car, would you? Its amazing how much energy and stamina I have after having a few dents pulled out and my bumper straightened. This

With just one visit the only thing I can say is I was treated well and the procedure left me feeling better than ever. I am looking forward to my next visit and being able to discuss my problems in depth. The staff was professional but yet didn't make me feel like I was ""just another customer."" Thanks You Belltown S&W!

I appreciate every session I have at Belltown Spine, the results that I have had with my chiropractic appointements has been phenomenal. The fact that I am able to avoid any type of surgery and using any painkillers for my back pain anymore is good enough for me, this place seriously gets real results just try them and find out for yourself.

Always a pleasure to go see Dr. Scott and his staff, so friendly and always remember my name. I have been going there for about a year now and my body is in peak physical condition. I am stronger and leaner than ever before, it seems that I am doing the same amount of physical activity but the results I am getting are better than ever before. Highly recommend this place, the best!

If you must go to the chiropractor, Belltown Spine and Wellness is the place to be. I have having pains in my right leg for a few months and my doctor has not been really able to help me with a solution, I went to the chiropractor for an evaluation. Turns out this was caused by prolonged sitting at work and it was causing damage to my posture and the culprit for the leg pain. After a few sessions the pain was gone.

I was an occasional visitor to Dr. Scott Mindel's office not long after he got out of Chiropractic School. I was away for a few years, long enough to rack up a laundry list of ills, aches and pains. Knowing that traditional treatment would result in inconclusive tests and toxic drugs, I undertook regular treatment with Dr. Scott. Well, I noticed improvement in a few treatments and a gradual improvement in overall well being overtime.

I am also certain that he saved me from the surgeon's knife when I was careless enough to get my 5th lumbar vertebra badly out of place in 2008. It was bad enough that I had to have help going to and from treatments for 2 to 3 weeks and otherwise could do very little for myself.

I now lead an active and sometimes strenuous life, able to make all the sculpture I want AND schlep it around.

I've been coming to BSW since February and love this place! All the girls at the front desk are great and so helpful! Dr. Scott is very attentive to my changing symptoms and I've seen a great amount of improvement. I highly recommend coming here if you want to be involved in your own care.

Belltown Spine & Wellness has helped me the last 4 months to recovery from a back injury. The holistic approach helps you both physically and mentally heal from an injury. The staff is very caring and engages in relationships with the clients so that it always feels at home. I receive both chiropractic care with Dr. Scott as well as massages by Erin Childs and I could not ask for a better treatment plan. I see more results every day.

Plus, the ladies up front are just a ray of sunlight in my day :)

Twice a month for the last 2 years has been my prescription, I don't need harsh medicine to hide my pain and its because I don't have it anymore. Most people don't know this but most insurance plans cover chiropractic therapy, they have found that this is cheaper in the long run for their business and much easier to deal with as well. I would recommend Belltown, they have great staff and Dr. Scott is awesome.

This is a great place. Dr. Scott is awesome. The entire environment is a holistic approach to health and wellness. Not only do I get my chiro but massage and natropath. It has been an amazing motivator for my health and an awesome staff to go with it.

I met Dr. Scott at a Health Fair at my work place over 2 years ago. I went in for a consultation and found out my head and neck were way out of alignment with my spine. Within a few weeks, some wrist pain and weakness I was having were completely gone. In about two years, my head, neck, and spine are now aligned like they should be which will prevent future problems. I now go once a month just to maintain my back health. After Dr. Scott adjusts my neck and spine, he has me do additional therapy. Dr. Scott and his team are very helpful, friendly, and professional. They really provide thorough care. \r
I have also had a few massages at the clinic and the massage therapists are awesome and ask what issues you have been having and really do a good job of working out all your kinks and knots.

I was very fortunate to find Dr Scott over six years ago, and have been a patient of his ever since. He is an instinctively talented and exceptionally knowledgeable healer, as well as a darn nice guy. I've enthusiastically recommended him and his entire office to many friends and colleagues, and will continue to do so.

I have visited a few massage parlors around the city and it seems like they all know what they are doing but Belltown Spine and Wellness really has been the best in my opinion. They are actually a chiropractic clinic but I think the critical knowledge that I have from practicing and studying the practice gives them a competitive edge in massage. Overall I rank them highest on best experience and results out of all the places I have received treatment.

Dr. Scott is not only a caring but shows his patients respect and is constantly updating his knowledge of the body, musculoskeletal, and nervous system. I have been a patient for over 13 years and trust my kids health to him -- even as early as 3 weeks old. To trust a doctor with your children is to trust a doctor completely. Once you have a doctor that you know cares about you as a person is a true gift to cherish. Thank you for everything you have done for me and my family - I am truly blessed!!

Chatting with fellow patients in the office, I have easily met a dozen people who have been loyal to Dr. Scott for thirteen, fourteen and fifteen years. People maintain longstanding patronage with him because with non-surgical and non-invasive procedures (and without the use of prescription drugs!) he helps people create AND maintain much improved health. My wife and I have both seen major transformations over the years. You're the best out there, Dr. Scott!

I have never written a review online however, felt compelled to do so about Belltown Spine and Wellness and Dr. Scott Mindel. Let me start by saying I went in very skeptical about spine doctors and chiropractic in general. I was diagnosed over a year ago with a herniated L4 L5 and have had extremely frustrating pain and stiffness in my lumbar and thoracic areas of my back as a result. I have seen a ""world Renowned"" spinal surgeon in Atlanta along with other doctors over the past year. Not opting for surgery I received three epidural shots and all I was told was to do a series of physical therapy twice a day and that it would improve.
Well it did not.

I have been seeing Dr. Mindel for about two months and while my back is not back to 100% yet I have noticed an absolute improvement. I have noticeably less pain and stiffness and I can sleep through the nigh and wake up without pain. Although I don't understand some of the chiropractic techniques and some of the therapy looks midieval, Dr. Mindel is methodical, deliberate and caring and his staff is professional and fun. I would highly recommend Belltown Spine and Wellness...

Wow, did I ever spend too many years doubting the competency of chiropractic. It has made such a positive impact on my health! Since I have made Dr. Mindel my general practitioner, I no longer waste time with so-called medical doctors who always just want to address my symptoms by writing a prescription. Dr. Mindel actually helps me heal the source of my problems by addressing my nervous system, musculoskeletal system, and especially my spine. Dr. Mindel has also seen my out-of-town sister whenever she visits me. He has alleviated her pain and surely has prevented future problems that she would have suffered....she now religiously makes appointments with him whenever she is in Seattle.

Once when I was in his office I saw Roger Daltrey (lead singer of The Who)! He was in Seattle doing a concert, and it didnt surprise me a bit to learn that of all the chiropractors he could have gone to see, he chose to be in Dr. Mindels care. (I later found out that Roger returned for another spinal adjustment before flying out to continue his tour!)

I've been a patient of Belltown Spine and Wellness since September of last year. When I first walked in I noticed it wasn't like other places that provide chiropractic services. \r
They started out with a full range of motion testing and set of x-rays to see what was structurally deficit then they created a treatment plan to address the concerns. \r
They also listen to you as to where you are having pain and they work with you to address the issue. They approimately every 6-8 weeks re run the testing/x-rays to see if there's any improvement. They also consistantly ask how I'm feeling and address any concerns I have. They are great at explaining why they are doing something and go into detail explaining what they are seeing on the xray/the range of motion testing. When it comes to the PT section they explain why you are doing whatever PT you are doing and give you an understanding of what to expect from it. As well as make sure that you are comfortable.\r
They treat you as a person not as a number. \r
I can't say anything other than the highest praise for Dr.Scott and his incredible staff. \r
They've done great by me.

Short story. For whatever reason they did not give me a bill till my 6th visit and guess what, they are charging each visit (20-30min with many people at the same time) as 1 chiro and 1 PT in my insurance. We all know that we have limited of number of those in my quota in a year and did not expect to use so many up. So basically for 6 SHORT visits (normally 1 chiro is 20 min and 1 PT is 1 hour), I used up 6 chiro and 6 PT. That is very surprising. I did not get informed about that till my 6th visit which I did not appreciate.

Long story:
well, I met Dr. Scott at the green festival and he seemed to be knowing his stuff. So I checked his place online and so far only good reviews although a bit outdated. So there I went. Did not like my 1st visit since I waited 20 min while showed up on time and got 5 min of Dr. Scott's time and then waited another 15 min and got another girl doing some general measurements which did not seem that useful at all. The office has many people and Dr. Scott sees (works on multiple at all times) many patients in any short period which I feel he is not really focused and was rushing definitely many times that I was there. I did not feel the exclusive service I got from other chiropractice at all. So I had my concerns for a while. When I asked about my billing, they keep saying the person who does that just was not able to get around to get that done. I did not have any doubts since a chiro is a chiro and they seemed to be doing OK although the assistants were doing a lot of the work I felt Dr. Scott should be doing. Well, I guess it is a little different. I thought well, if I can get my neck and back better, who cares as long as I get better. THEN, I got my billing at my 6th visit and then I found out for each visit which is like 20-30 min with many clients waiting around for their turn, I am being charged for 1 PT and 1 chiro using up my quota double time faster than I thought. OK, I got premera and that is a pretty standard insurance and I have seen chiro and PT with this insurance before. It just does not make any sense. When I called, the person kept saying that is how they do the billing with whatever code. I also questioned that there is no certified Physical Therapist there though. However, she kept saying they do the billing according to what they did in the office. OK, I guess this is what they do. In summary, I am using two slots for each short visit to get 5-10 min of chiro and some not so qualified assistant charging at a PT rate for another 20 min. I am not sure if this is a good choice. Plus, it is always so busy in the office in the not so good way, all the assistants trying to help multiple patient at any given time and Dr. Scott has everyone lined up for him and sometimes he is so busy, I felt he is not even listening so much about my concerns. Which is what happens if you are too busy.

So in conclusion I would not recommend this place. I am not going back there myself and I felt I would appreciate someone wrote a review for me here so that I do not have to make this mistake. So that is why I am here writing this. I usually do not write reviews. Guess I am now.

Cons: busy, each visit (20-30 min) used 1 chiro and 1 PT slots

As a 27 year old marketing professional, I never would have thought that my spine was so out of alignment. After the original exam where he went down my spine checking each vertabrate and letting me know what organs it touched, I was amazed that all of my chronic ""normal"" conditions were tied to vertabrates that were out of alignment. If you have the insurance coverage, you should at least check this out. He has a solid view of the spine's holistic value to our entire body. He infuses eastern medicinal practices into adjustments without preaching or rambling on. It's an incredibly comfortable environment. They have flexible scheduling. And you learn a lot about just how important a healthy spine is.

I have known Dr. MIndel for over 14 years. He was the second chiropractor that I have seen in my life. When he first started treating me, he was still a student at Life Chiropractor school in Marietta, Gerogia. I had tremendous migrane headaches and lower back problems. In no time at all, my migranes were gone and I haven't had any to this date. Dr. MIndel decided to move to Seattle after graduating from chiropractic school and that deeply saddened me. He had made such an impact on me and my overall health, I decided to move to Seattle too with my family. I continue to see him for regular maintenance of my spine and any other problems that might occur. Dr. Scott is truly an amazing, caring doctor that actually takes the time to listen to his patients. He has such a positive attitude about his work and life in general. He keeps updated on new techniques in an ever changing world. Once you have started seeing him for your chiropractic care, you will want to keep coming back because you feel so much better and who doesn't want that, especially when you get older.\r

I have seen Dr. Julie Sutton ever since she has joined Belltown Spine and Wellness. I was diagnosed with neuropathy due to diabetes in my legs and feet and she is treating me with acupuncture. I have never had any acupuncture, so I didn't know what to expect. I have greatly improved with her care . I would highly recommend having acupuncture for nerve problems that eminate from diabetes. Dr. Julie is also treating me for other health conditions. I have seen a remarkable difference in my health and I know I am on the right road back to good health by taking naturopathic medicine. She won't give up on you when you get discouraged. You couldn't ask for a better team of doctors. One compliments the other in their work to help you gain health, to live longer and most of all, happier. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone who is serious about getting healthier.

I did not know Dr. Scott Mindel from Adam and had limiting negative beliefs about Chiropractors going into my first appointment. Dr. Scott did not send me away from my first appointment with prescriptions for hardcore narcotics to cover up the pain. Instead he took X-Rays and put me through a sophisticated technologically advanced analysis of my spine. He correctly diagnosed the source of my back pain and has eliminated the pain I have been struggling with for over ten years. Dr. Scott is a good communicator and will teach about not only what is causing your back pain but how you can realistically maintain a healthy back in your daily life. At no time have I had anything but complete confidence is his knowledge of his craft and I can attest first hand to Dr. Scott's abilities. I had never been seen by a chiropractor prior to my first visit and I feel fortunate to that I made an appointment at this particular office as my overall health has much improved.

Pros: Free parking out back, Flexible scheduling with walk in appointments, nice facility.

Cons: Realistically Zero.

About a year ago I was in a lot of pain due to complications related to scoliosis. I found myself looking at a strong possibility of invasive surgery to fuse a bunch of my vertebrae together. So I started looking at alternatives and ended up at Belltown Spine & Wellness. The results have been phenomenal.\r
\r
I started out hunched over like a twisted old man at 32 and not able to sleep through the night. After months of interesting therapies involving tables, straps, weights and exercises, including things to do at home, Dr. Mindel has gotten me to the point where I'm able to be active and healthy again. I'm quite at home in the friendly and professional atmosphere at Belltown Spine & Wellness and my back has been recovering nicely. Dr. Mindel is always learning and innovating in his treatments and therapies and I think it really pays off. Besides that, I've been able to avoid a $100K+ surgery and I have an increasingly functional lower back.\r

Thanks BT S&W!\r

My husband and I have been going to Belltown Spine and Wellness for about 2 months, and we're both feeling much better. I had neck problems after a car accident and I haven't had any pain since I started seeing Dr. Mendell. He uses a variety of techniques and all his patients use weights too to strengthen the muscles supporting the spine which has also made a huge difference. \r
I just started seeing Dr. Sutton as well for acupuncture and have noticed marked improvements already. The staff and doctors are very professional and both Dr. Mendell and Dr. Sutton are very talented. You will be well taken care of here.
