We finally went to Blue Ribbon Bakery. I had read so much hype about this place over the years. Maybe the Bromberg brothers are getting stretched too thin with their growing food empire? But whatever is going on, the place was a huge

Pros: Fun space
Cons: Crummy service, lack luster food
This is a really fun cozy place in the Village. The breads are fantastic but the blue ribbon food is what keeps bringing me back. The french toast may be the best thing I ever ate.

Cons: nousy and busy, not intimate, not veyr kid friendly
What a high quality New York restaurant should be -- casual atmosphere, attentive but not obsequious service, lively but not posturing atmosphere, and excellent food. I say food rather than cuisine because the dishes are straightforward

The food was mediocre with a small selection on the menu. The host had us wait even though we arrived prior to other patrons. Worst of all was our waiter. He had no idea what was on the menu and wa helped by fellow staffer. Definitely find

My favorite way to cap off an evening is to go to Blue Ribbon Bakery around midnight or later - when there's not a wait - and get the Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding and cocktails. Sometimes we'll mix it up and get other desserts too, but

Cons: wait can be long during peak hours (over an hour!) Bartender is less than attentive
I've been going to this restaurant for the last few years, and I thought it was time to write a nice review for it. The waiters, waitresses and hosts manage to blend prompt and attentive service with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

I know that there are some long-time, successful restaurants that don't take reservations in NYC. That's fine. But why do some restaurants use that as an excuse to lie about how long the wait will take? I came here on a date, which is

Blue Ribbon Bakery is the perfect place for a date or for brunch. The downstairs overlooks the breadmaking and you'll notice a warm bread smell. You feel like you are in a country cabin with all of the exposed brick and 'cave like'

If you don't have any experience of restaurants you might, just, accept this miserable excuse of a place. The staff is surly, service is slow, the owner shouts orders to waiters across the place. The wine list has prices ranging from $33

Need I say more? My meat was actually over-done (I ordered medium rare and it came out to be close to well-done) but as I was telling my husband, the manager walked up to us and asked how our food was. His eyes went straight to my meat,

Time and time again I am amazed with The Bakery. The food and the service are always at perfection. It seems there may be one too many staff members and/or management on the floor but I suppose this is how they always manage to make sure

What is so spectacular about this place? It's hard to pinpoint, but we keep returning about once a month. And we only order the SAME thing on the menu each time - it's hard to stray when the shrimp & bacon hash is so damn good.

Okay..$7 for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a chocolate and peanut butter brownie???? If it was outstanding I could see it as a nice change for lunch, but the peanut butter wasn't any better than one you could buy at any grocery

I've actually had dreams about the chicken salad sandwich on (freshbaked) country sourdough bread with jarlsberg cheese. Especially on a hot day, the downstairs feels like a cool, candlelit castle - and they'll keep the iced tea coming.

Full disclosure ... I love the original Blue Ribbon restaurant. Unfortunately, this place pales in comparison. Sure the breads are great, and the menu extensive, but in general the preparation is fairly boring and the taste mediocre.
