After searching high and low for a salon that I liked and one that could handle my curly hair (even having paid over $250+ for a cut previously at another salon!!), I'm very happy with Planet Salon and everything about it. Everyone is super professional & they know their business. The customer service is great, there is no pretentious vibe at all & they really care about their clients. I have Dean do my color and have had various people do my cut and have been happy with all.
Side note: Join KCRW, a public radio station, and you'll get a discount at this salon with their "Fringe Benefits" card! You can do 2 good things- support fantastic public programming and save money at the same time! (Just google KCRW)

I really like Planet Salon. I have been going there for several years. Located on Robertson, this salon offers everything from highlights to bikini waxes where you can talk to Melissa (the hair removal/facialist) about everything! You feel as if you're having apple martinis with your best girl friend, but suddenly she rips the hair from your most private parts and you realize where you are again, but only for a second. You tend not to notice what is happening because you are already knee-deep into the saga of her last trip to Mexico with her ex-boyfriend. My haircut and highlights were excellent; however, my two ladies have now left the salon unfortunately. All the salon's products are Aveda, which they sell at the salon. It has a hip and trendy feel to it, but the prices are reasonably expensive.
