I bought my first brand new car from CarMax. The staff is great, they have nice selection. There were plenty of finance options and they can definitely work with you. The entire process was quick and painless.
5When I was ready to buy my much needed mini van, I tried go to car lots and after a couple of them, I came home and got on line. I found CarMax, went to their site and found the van that I wanted. I was ables to get all the info I needed on the van including the price. I called and spoke to Byron and when I got there he had the van waiting for my inspection and test drive. I and my grandchildren were totally satisfied with the van and the service. Since my purchase, I have taken my van in for service and again totally satisfied. The Service and Sales departments are both top notch in customer care.

This was a fabulous experience - we walked in, test drove 4 cars and drove out with a new Jeep a couple of hours later. Ask for James! He was very helpful and not pushy!!!
Great prices on trade-ins!
5I bought a car at the Car Max in Roseville (near Sacramento), CA in 2003. I woudln't buy a car anywhere else.
On their web-site, you can see all of the cars available at any one Car-Max, or all of the stores nationwide, including prices and other details. The salesmen are low-pressure (they are not on commission). They will take you to test drive as many cars as you want, and the true, bottom line, below blue-book price is right there. You like the car, you write a check and its yours. They do loans, but don't pressure you to take theirs.
They promise a 125-point quality check on all of their cars. It's real. Every mechanic who has worked on my car since I got it said its in great shape. I really could not ask for more in a car buying experience.
PROS: great cars, great prices, no car-sales hassles or pressure
CONS: none I can think of--like any used car dealer, selection is limited.
