I called and scheduled a same day appointment for their signature facial and swedish massage. On their website they have an ad that offers 10% off same day appts. but I didn't recieve mine and didn't realize it until I got home. However, I was late for my appt. so maybe the discount doesn't apply in that situation. That being said, the massage was one of the best I have ever experienced. My therapist Holly was very knowledgable and attentive. I can't say enough good things about her. My facial was so relaxing that I think I actually fell asleep for a little while. I do regret not being able to enjoy their quiet room for a little longer and I'm bummed that I didn't recieve my complimentary glass of wine but again, thats due to my tardiness and not to lack of customer service. The front desk was actually very nice and accomodating and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all for being late. I fully enjoyed my experience and would definately recommend this spa to anyone who's looking to relax.

Pros: best massage ever!

Cons: no parking, didn't get my discount :(

I was expecting excellent customer service, a tranquil and relaxing environment to indulge in the top of the line pedicure. Instead it was noisy the entire time. There were loud discussions between staff and people checking in. I even had an employee bissell the carpet while I tried to quietly relax! The pedicure service was okay but definately not worth $90! You can get an awesome pedicure at Julia's in Cherry Creek for $39.

I'll never go back. What a joke!

This is a historic home just off the beaten path in downtown Denver. It feels like ytour in your grandmothers home however it is beautifully restored and maintained. The staff make you feel comfortable and relax you from the minute you walk in the door. The service is specific to your needs and professional all the way. Nice find in Denver.

I had a massage at the Woodhouse about a year ago and really enjoyed it.
When it was time to buy a gift for a pregnant friend, I decided to stretch my budget to get her a gift certificate for the pea-in-the-pod massage at the Woodhouse, thinking it would be nothing short of excellent and relaxing.

After my friend had the massage, she told me about her experience:
She had to ask for a clean pillow because the one they gave her had some yellow gunk on it.
They didn't have pregnancy beds with the hole in the middle! Her massage took place while she was laying on her sides- how is that comfortable? How is that going to help my very pregnant friend relax and get a good back rub?
I have never heard of a prenatal massage with no belly table, and neither had my friend. She had even gone to some other less expensive places throughout her pregnancy and ALWAYS had a belly table.

I called and spoke with the spa manager, who's attitude was pretty much "tough, it's the way we do it here." I won't be spending more money at the Woodhouse. I would think in this economy spas would be trying to keep their customers, but I guess the Woodhouse doesn't see it that way.

Pros: pretty building

Cons: bad prenatal massage, customer service, overpriced

Beautiful w/ great service. The only slight "issue" I would note is that parking can be scarce.

The Woodhouse Spa is located in a gorgeous Victorian style home, but I will never go back. I have never paid so much for a service and then gone home and repainted what I just paid too much for. I have paid far less for an end result that I was much happier with. I would not recommend them to anybody.

A friend of mine recently bought me a gift certificate to the Woodhouse for my birthday. When I called the spa, the woman I spoke to was very knowledgeable and helped me pick the appropriate massage based on what I told her was happening with my body. When I arrived the day of my appointment, I was impressed from the beginning. Beautiful old home, relaxing atmosphere, and a staff that made me feel welcome. Before my massage began, my therapist reviewed my chart and took the time to talk with me about my body "issues". It was one of the best massages I've had. Amanda was very knowledgeable and had a confident and nurturing touch. I will be back but next time I'm bringing friends! A great birthday gift!

I recently used a gift certificate for a Pea in the Pod maternity massage. I was expecting a special table or chair to be available, but it was just done on a regular massage table where the masseuse worked on one side of me at a time, while I lay on my sides with a body pillow. Obviously, it's not quite as relaxing as a regular massage, where you can be on your stomach, but overall it was very pleasant and relaxing. At the end, I was on my back for a few minutes, which might not be okay for all pregnant women. The masseuse took time to make sure I was comfortable throughout.

A small complaint: the gift certificate didn't note a time allowance for the massage. When I booked it and noted I had a gift certificate, the receptionist asked if it was for an hour, which I assumed was standard. However, when I checked out, it turned out the gift was made for 45-minutes (the standard time offered on the website, as I later learned). It wasn't a big deal to pay a little extra, but it seems like there should be a better line of communication between what a gift certificate says, what the website offers, and how the service is booked.

Pros: Great Pea in the Pod massage; relaxing atmosphere

Cons: Gift certificates not clear; only two showers in locker room

A lovely, relaxing space - beautiful building, great lounging areas.

I've had several wonderful facials at Woodhouse.

I recently was unhappy with attitude at the register - hopefully it was just a one time incident.

I absolutely loved this small spa. We walked in and were whisked away from there. I thought the massage was one of my top five ever (I think her name was Kim) and overall the experience was lovely. The changing/dressing room, though small, was well equipped. Great shop too as they had an abundance of nice products.

This place was unbelievable. These guys have obviously figured out how to make someone feel special and relaxed. For the entire day I felt like I was the only person that mattered. Each individual I delt with catered to my every whelm. My pedicure and manicure were done in a great setting. My techician was very skilled and made me feel like a queen. Don't miss the opportunity to get one of their body wraps. I'm telling all my friends..Actually, this would be a great place to go with them! Plus they have some great wines to sip. See you there!

Cons: Hmmm..can't think of any

I have enjoyed many massages at the Woodhouse. But, I have to say that everytime I have nail services performed, the experience is poor. The last two times I have visited, the nail tech burnt the tips of my fingers and toes with the nail file. When I brought it to her attention, she offered me a free drink and then poured nail polish remover on it. Which really burns! I mentioned it to the hostess checking me out and got 20% off my bill. I will return the favor and never return.

I think even the most disappointed customer on these critiques can attest to the fantastic atmosphere at Woodhouse. Situated in a charming yet elegant historic victorian that's also well-appointed, you can't help but have lofty expectations - especially when you sit down in one of their wingbacked chairs in front of the fireplace with a cup of tea. Unfortunately that's where my idealic spa visit ended. The swedish massage was enjoyable but pretty average. My bath experience was even more disappointing, as the water in the tub was scalding hot and I wasn't able to sit in the water without burning. To their credit, the staff tried to cool the water down for me as much as they could, but it never adjusted to a comfortable level of heat. So instead, I asked if I could just spend some time in their vischy shower, and they happily accommodated me. It was nice, but again, I had had my mind set on a different type of experience. The staff was friendly enough, the atmosphere - grand, but the services were just not at the level you'd expect with the prices they ask. In conclusion, I'm hoping it was just an off day for me, as I'd like to give them another chance.

Went to Woodhouse to enjoy half day of services with two friends, we had all booked the same package, but I was given a different massage. After therapist admitted to a miscommunication, the front desk had the gall to tell us that we had booked wrong (then why did they confirm TWICE, not sure). Anyway, they kept saying that they took full responsbility, when they were taking NONE AT ALL. I am so disappointed and insulted. I have never written a bad review, but the rudeness and anti-customer service was just too appalling not to share.

I had a great massage. However, the service was terrible. I arrived 20 minutes prior to my massage time. I got a complimentary mimosa and sat in the waiting room. My massage was supposed to begin at 9 am, but the technician didn't pick me up until after 9:15. When she did, she told me "I wanted to let you finish your mimosa." I didn't think she would count that against my massage time - but I was wrong. She ended the massage at exactly 10:30 am - even though I had paid for an hour and a half massage. I can't imagine anyone would rather sit in a waiting room and drink a free mimosa instead of getting the full massage they were paying for. I was very disappointed and will not be going back.

A group of 7 of us visited the Woodhouse Day Spa in Early September 2007. We loved every service! The therapists were all talented and attentive, decor was beautiful ? did not have that franchise feel at all. They gave us great recommendations for our lunch ? 17th Avenue Grill ? and that was fabulous as well. I have taken my staff to day spas for the past 6 years and this experience was by far the best! Keep up the great work! Kudos to our great estheticians, massage therapists and nail techs. (My toes STILL have the gorgeous polish on 20 days later ? awesome) We actually all work together at another day spa (out of town) ? so we are kinda picky and you all exceeded our expectations. We will be back for sure! Thank you for a great day - Janet and Staff.

I never write reviews, but after several trips to the Woodhouse and my self-proclaimed spa-snob title, I had to comment on what great experiences I've had with the staff of the Woodhouse. I recently spent 3 hours at the spa for my birthday where I was greeted with a cold glass of champagne and a comfy robe. I saw Cynthia for my 90 minute Swedish massage where she incorporated some hot stones for my extra tense spots. That was followed by a 90 minute facial with Monique which left my skin glowing enough that my friends commented even the next day. This was not my first trip to the Woodhouse, but I'm impressed with the consistency of service and effectiveness/expertise of the staff. I recently spent a week at Canyon Ranch in Tucson, and the Woodhouse's services are on par if not better than some of the treatments I received there. And the Woodhouse costs a lot less!

I unfortunately was a little very disappointed at my visit this weekend. I treated myself and my sister to a massage, pedicure and manicure. We were told that there would be complementary wine or champagne and no one offered this to us. We did get offered water and ice tea. We seen other ladies get the wine and champagne offered to them and this made me a bit upset. Also, the pedicure and manicure were not worth what we received. The ladies were average at what they did on our hands and feet. We saw an another employee who seemed to do a better job on her customer. I guess it is all in who you make an appointment with. One good experience was the massage with our ladies was professional and worth it.

A regretful experience. It was to be a special 5 hour bonding treat for me and my daughter. We sat around for half the time, waiting, with loud music and in anti-relaxing busy main rooms. I never got any of the procedures I ordered ahead of time. A lousy untalented, unschooled massage; a shortened facial; a freezing mud bath which was horrid and made me rigid and certainly undid my massage. After another long wait, we were finally offered an undrinkable mimosa and heard classless gossip. And I was totally humiliated in front of my daughter during my pedicure. It was horrifying. After a few letters they refunded a small portion of my money, for a severely shortened session, paying no care for the fact I never received the tantalizing procedures I had ordered. No one there seems a real professional in my opinion, with my experience, esp the owners. They just gasp in disbelief over a complaint. I will never forget the disappointment.

Thank you! It was wonderful to be in your warm and inviting spa. My husband and I are still talking about the delightful experience that we had at our visit to Woodhouse Spa. Thank you for making us feel that we were all that mattered. I have never had any better customer service! My husband enjoyed his spa day as much, if not more than I did. We are from Texas and normally I say that everything is better here. The one thing that we could use in Texas would be The Denver Woodhouse Spa. Thank you again for a most delightful experience! We look forward to being able to visit again soon.

Pros: Beautiful spa environment, friendly staff, location

Cons: None

I have visited the Woodhouse spa three times since it's opening. Each visit has all been the same for me. Lacking. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The sun porch is a nice touch. But, unfortunately it gets very warm when the sun is on that side of the building. When I think of a spa I think of serenity. Being located on a busy corner on 17th does not give the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle. The staff does not look like a tidy group of people. The odd hair colors and tattoos are harsh when someone is trying to sell you on calming and relaxing. I agree that the product line is not the best out there. Especially for the price. I thought over time the little glitches would get worked out. But, it's remained the same unfortunately. I know that in business people say they are the best to gain business. I didn't care for the trash and bash of two other spas by the staff while getting my nails done. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

Pros: If you live in the area it is close enough to walk to.

Cons: Parking. Price. Attitudes

.

I've been hearing about this great spa but until now haven't had the opportunity to see for myself. What a great place. If I had known I wouldn't have waited so long. The place is gorgeous, the people our gracious, the service is over the top. I signed up for the works. I've been to a lot of spas but must say this was the best massage I've ever had. My facial person was very knowledgeable and she gave me an excellent facial. I ended my afternoon with a pedicure. My pedicure was very thorough. I received a great leg and foot massage and a beautiful polish job to end it all. Nice touch with the decorations for the holidays!! It was so relaxing and enjoyable. Can't wait to come back with a few friends!!!! Fantastic!!

Pros: Great service, atmosphere, treatments

I went to Woodhouse with anticipation that it would be a great spa.

They mixed up my appointments as well as my two friends.

The rooms are huge and gorgeous. The 'locker room' or dressing room is horrible if there are a lot of women there that day. There is one bathroom basically. It's not luxurious by any means!

The treatment was fine. But, the products are what made me feel like I was over paying. Now I am not a fan of Aveda products usually. However, with that product in the Woodhouse it would be a whole new experience.

I tried to buy products for my friend as a gift and after a half hour of waiting to pay I gave up.

I have tried to review Woodhouse three times now and it's been deleted each time. if this happens again I am going to start to wonder how much Woodhouse pays this site.

The staff was friendly. Expect I could have done without the nail girl pushing that she was the best in town. Got news. I had a better pedicure at a less established shop and it lasted three times longer and was less expensive AND I didn't have to listen to the non-stop sales pitch of how great the nail person was.

I don't think they are the best in town. But, they are a beautiful spa.

I travel all over the country and have experienced spas in various cities (Arizona, Las Vegas, Seattle, Chicago, DC, etc.). The Woodhouse Spa is one if not the best. From the moment you step through the door, the customer service is phenominal. While the manicure and pedicure services are great, the massages are to "die" for. Since I have a high stressful job, the massages help my body to loosen up and relax. I now have become a regular customer at Woodhouse, and experience other spas as an "in-between". Compared to other spas in the country, the price of the various services are also very reasonable.

Wow! Friendly staff, skilled technicians, beautiful location, this is a place to which you want to come back.
I received a massage and a pedicure. They have a changing lounge where you first recieve a robe and slippers and then are taken into your service. The rooms are exquisite, in soft creams and green tones with vintage detail in the lighting and design. The massage beds are the most comfortable I've been on. My technician had a practiced touch and was able to relieve pain in my shoulder within minutes of my service starting. I also recieved a pedicure and it was easily one of the best I have experienced. The technician paid close attention to my toe nail's shape and cuticles, and the massage was excellent. She offered polite conversation and focused on my comfort the entire time. A warm neck cozy and a complimentary beverage were another plus. I was able to really stop and relax for a moment in my day.
I have been to many other spas, and the Denver Woodhouse excels in all areas. From scheduling to check out, it is an all around great experience.

This is hands down the best spa experince in Denver! The set-up of the pedicure/manicure room is fabulous for "girls day out" and the hospitality from making the appt. via phone through final goodbye is reminiscent of service at the Ritz. The facilities are goregous and relaxing. The quality of technicians and products are fantastic and will keep me coming back for more. We are lucky to have such a Gem in Denver. Rivals 5 star spas in international locations I've been to. LOVE IT!

I go to The Woodhouse all of the time and have always had a great experience. They take very good care of me and have the best massage therapist in town. My wife loves the place as well.

Why am I writing this review? I came out to City Search to get their website to order a gift card for my assistant for Christmas. I saw several negative reviews which are contrary to my experiences. It dawned on me that people have a tendency not to write about their good experiences. They take them for granted. I thought I would let everyone know how pleased I've been and say "Thank You" to The Woodhouse for always taking the very best care of me and my wife.

Pros: ambiance, people, service, cocktails

Cons: can get crowded on the weekends

.

After reading the reviews here I was expecting excellance however I did not get what I was expecting. My husband and I spent over 600 dollars for a special anniversary weekend. My husband was happy but I was not. The facial that I had was fine..the extractions were EXTREMELY painful..I have had alot of facials and they never hurt so much. Then my next treatment was a hot stone massage.. This was hands down the worst one I have ever had...my back didn't get touched. I was particullary surprised at this because I had filled out a form before that specifically said I wanted focus on my back which was bugging me. Then I had a pedicure and a manicure that was shotty at best..the girl who performed them looked like she was 15 and was more interested in gossip than doing a good job on my hands or feet. All in all it was very confusing. Beautiful house great atmosphere but the services were very lack luster. How this place got the #1 rating in the city I will never know. I have had better pedicures in a mall and paid a third of the price. I hoped for so much more.

Got a facial w/ my husband. We shared a room. He got extractions...I didn't. They only had one chair set up for extractions so they claimed my face was great. Yeah right. Two days later, I'm breaking out and peeling...My best facial place remains Nordstrom Spa in Chicago...I will say they relaxed me though. Good massage just not facial. Go elsewhere.

I've been to the Woodhouse several times for pedicures and massage. My experiences have always been good and typically excellent. On weekends they are sometimes very very busy and I did have to wait what I considered too long for one pedicure appt, but they more than made up for it with a divine 2hour Egyptian Pedicure. Every massage has exceeded my expectations. Their prices seem a bit on the high side but it's completely worth it in my opinion. Friendly service and an amazing soothing, pampering atmosphere are worth their weight in gold!

Denver has been waiting for this spa! I recieved a gift certificate and had a facial (Francesca), Massage (Lisa), Mani/ Pedi (Lisa again) and they have a customer for life. Very knowledgable, soothing, personable, and pampering. All my cares melted away in this welcoming environment that was scrupulously clean and professional. What a pleasure. I look forward to visiting with my new friends again soon. Do try!

I have been to many unbelievable Spa's around the world and have had many different treatments. Just recently I went to the Woodhouse Day Spa in Denver and spent the whole day with the staff recieving multiple services. I could not complain about one. It is hard to find a good Esthetician and Massage Thereapist in the same location. I had the Minkyti facial with Holly and a Swedish Massage with Mark they were both absolutley wonderfull. The bast facial I have ever recieved!!!

the staff is very friendly, not pushy at all.

the manicures and pedicures are great, the massage was so-so and the microdermabrasion was not so good.

overall though i really like this place, especially the nail treatments.

Went to the Woodhouse after hearing an advertisement on 560 ESPN Radio. I love getting a massage especially when I travel and stay in really nice hotels. But, in Denver, I have had a difficult time finding a spa that also really caters to men. My search has ended. The Woodhouse experience was awesome! To begin with, you walk in and the place is extremely beautiful and I felt very welcome by their staff. Before my massage, I got to unwind in their men's lounge that had very nice private lockers, leather chairs and they offered me a beer. Then, I got the best one hour massage I have ever had in Denver. The massage therapist was as good as any therapist I have had including my visits to several high end hotels and, the best part was that the price was probably a third less than those fancy hotels.

My friend and I have visited several of the nicest spa's in Denver searching for the perfect pedicure and The Woodhouse is the best! My nail tech was Gail and she totally gave me the best pedi I've had in Denver! The ambience was lovely and the glass of wine presented to us upon our arrival was a welcome treat! I would recommend this spa for anyone who is on a quest such as we were! Thank you!!

I won't be back The salt scrub was very refreshing, but it was overshowed by the fact that it started 15 minutes late and they still stuck to the 45 minute timelimit. Not a good value and the technician, forgot the ending moisturizer (that she bragged about) the Facial, used the same product 4 times and was 30 mintues instead of an hour and did not include the oxygen therapy I paid extra for.

Woodhouse is a gorgeous old Victorian house. It is kept pristinely clean, my favorite part about it. Staff is very friendly; not pretentious at all, but not always very knowledgable about every treatment. They are trained through a Woodhouse school, so their knowledge doesn't stray far from specific services Woodhouse provides. Nevertheless, for a nice day of pampering you couldn't ask for a more beautiful spot.

I have been to many local spas in the metro area, but I've never had an experience like this one. Every personat the spa was so welcoming! They took great care to say hello and introduce themseleves. In addition, the pedicure I received by Gail was the best one I 've ever had! I will guarantee that I will tell all of my friends about the wonderful experience I had at the Woodhouse Day Spa.
