We took my partner's scooter in on July 9th. On July 14th we returned to talk to Russell who let us know the extent of the repairs and told us it would take 2 weeks to get the part in. After 3 weeks from the point we told them to order the part, we called and were told the part still had not come in. We called again at 4 weeks and were told the part would hopefully be in that Friday or Saturday. The following week (5 weeks from the point the part was ordered, and almost 6 weeks from the point we originally dropped off the scooter) we called again to check on the scooter and were told it was finally done. When I dropped by to pick up the scooter, I inquired about the reason the part took so long and asked when it had been ordered. Russell told me it had been ordered on 7/14, but it was backordered. When I asked why we hadn't been called to tell us that, he had no explanation. When Russell brought the scooter around front he mentioned that I might want to get gas as the gas light was on. I made it exactly 1 block before the scooter ran out of gas. This was disconcerting since we brought the scooter in with plenty of gas, and they obviously had to ride the scooter after the repair to verify it was working properly.

We went to Sportique because we had experienced less than great service and quality of work at OTD, and had told Sportique was the best. This is definitely not the case.

I had body work done on a Vespa starting in July of 2008, and not finished until February of 2009. I'm afraid I couldn't find anything good to say about their customer service, in fact it is probably the worst experience I have had with any retailer. Their lack of communication and quality work was baffling. Perhaps business is a little too good for them and they don't feel compelled to focus on the customer.

1. They did not live up to their time commitments 2. Did not keep me apprised of progress 3. Were clueless about what "as new" meant with regards to repair - repeatedly missed details about what was to be done, including not knowing the model of the Vespa and 5. Tried to charge me for $40 in parts that they failed to replace. 6. Took 7 months to do work that should have taken 3 weeks.

This place is great. I've had my scooter serviced, repaired, and upgraded at their Boulder and Denver stores for years. They've always been friendly and are willing to work with you. They sell quality scooters that don't fall apart in less than a year. No cheapo mainland Chinese scooter junk here.

They sponsor local scooter rides and rally's. They are always trying to support the local scooter community.

They have a great deal of patience with newbie scooter owners and are willing to help them out. If you have a classic moped, they will try to accomodate you but it will take time to get parts as they can be a challenge to come by. If you have a cheapo mainland Chinese scooter - they don't repair them.

Sportique took my scooter in the spring of 2007. It turned out that the engine had been blown and that we needed a replacement engine. They found a replacement and it took 5 months to put it in the scooter. When we got the Scooter back, it was scratched, missing its rear basket, and the battery was dead. The people at Sportique denied any responsibility for the scooter's condition and were out of a battery and baskets. When the battery finally arrived, we had to convince them that, in fact, they had killed the battery and that we deserved a new one. They had "tossed" the rear basket and kept talking about the time frame that it took for us to get back to them. All in all, they ruined the scooter, took no responsibility, and kept it all summer last year. They never returned phone calls or e-mails and made us feel like we were in some way responsible. Horrible, and I will never go back!

Dont waste your time or efforts anywhere else.. They know what they do and they do it well. There was at least two female employees there when I went. and why would that be an issue anyway? Best scooter shop in Colorado!

this is one of the only-- if not THE only --shops in Denver that exclusively sells scooters. there are others that sells scooters as well as motorcycles and other dirtbike-type toys, but Sportique only deals with scooters. the cheapest bike you can get is probably close to $2000. they do offer financing, but you've got to have immaculate credit to be approved for that. you can test drive and ask as many questions as you need to in order to make your decision. i'm a girl, and wish there were more female employees working, but nonetheless the boys are nice enough.

PROS: terribly cute bikes
CONS: financing through wells fargo makes it tough to get approved
