This place is a scam, they had on their billboard NO CONTRACT and my wife started going on a month to month 19.95 and when she did not like the trainer she didn't want to continue. Low and behold they took her checking account number and falsely send a notification to our bank to start paying them direct bank draft method. NEITHER MY WIFE OR I AUTHORIZED SUCH A PAYMENT PLAN, so we had to advise our bank that this was an unauthorized transaction and the bank stopped it. Then we started getting notifications from a collection agency that we owed them money months later after my wife told them she was NOT going to continue using their facility. SHE WAS TOLD NO CONTRACT (misleading) and it was MONTH TO MONTH (another lie) and now won't stop billing my wife like she signed a contract for a membership that she NEVER authorized. This place is a scam. BEWARE. I even went over myself to be told that she would have to pay a $50 fee to terminate a contract that she never had. Crooks!

This place has the worst customer service and can't keep a manager. They're on their third in about 5 months. Totally unhelpful and good luck trying to end a contract. I signed a month to month and cancelled in October, guess what?! They're still charging me and threatening pressing charges. I did what I was told to do and they have been the most rude inconsiderate staff I've ever had to deal with. Management does not return calls, they keep passing you off to someone else and nothing gets resolved. So now, I'm stuck paying 5 months of dues when I cancelled in October but they didn't handle the paperwork like they told me they would. This gym is not worth your time or money. On top of everything else it's just not very nice. The machines are older and look kinda gross. If I could, I would have never set foot in that place to begin with. I would recommend you join any gym but this one.

The instructors, equipment, facilities, and staff (not the management, the staff) are wonderful. Atmosphere is relaxed and fun, but now there is a male manager, and a male trainer, and there are rumblings this gym might become co-ed. However, my problem is strictly with their unethical business practices when it comes to canceling due to relocation. I tried canceling in May with a copy of my apt. lease (out of state), never received confirmation so called in June and was told they wouldn't accept my lease because my new management hadn't signed my copy yet. So I faxed my employment contract. Never received confirmation that they received and honored the cancellation. In July, mailed a check for the $50 cancellation fee and thought it was over. Just started getting harassed by their collection agent saying my membership hasn't been canceled and I never paid cancellation fee. Both outright lies. Filed official complaint today through BBB. Hopeful for resolution. Don't trust this gym.

I received a brochure in the mail that said $19.95 per month, $0 down.

I gave them a call and spoke with the manager, Nicole, on the phone. I verified that this price was not with a contract. She said "It's basically month-to-month". So, I decided to go in for a tour.

Upon arriving, I spoke with another woman and stressed my concerns about signing a contract and told her the only reason I was there was because of that brochure and it not being a contract. She acted like she "completely" understood.

After the tour, I was pretty excited about joining. Then, we talk pricing. That brochure was indeed "basically" month-to-month like the manager said. There was a catch! You pay UP FRONT for 36 MONTHS!!! That's 3 years people!!! That's $718.20!! I told the woman I was talking to that I felt the brochure was False Advertisement. She didn't seem to understand how... She said they don't consider it a contract since you pay up front.

The other price options were $49.95 or $59.95 a month - One year contract. I'm sorry - but for a price like that AND a contract, I'll go over to another gym and enjoy many more amenities - including a pool!

Don't be fooled by the advertisements that Fitness for Women puts out! They are not accurate and all they try to do is get you in there so they can suck you in!

I have been a member of Fitness for Women for 3 years now and I can't say enough good things about this place!! The facility is super clean and the staff is what really sets this club above all others in the Auburn area. You are always greeted with a smiling face when you walk through the doors! The memberships are extremely reasonable for all that they offer. I would highly recommend this club for women of all ages and shapes. They are here to motivate you and to help you reach your fitness goals in a welcoming and family-like environment!

Love this gym! It has BODYPUMP which is amazing, but better yet it is the only gym in town that has BODYJAM which is a dance based cardio class that has all types of dance - hip hop, latin, house, and even disco!!

Women's gym. A few yrs ago it was called Cory Everson's (the former 6 time Ms. Olympia), then it changed management to ACFitness, and now it's Golds. Regardless of the name, it's a good quality gym located in a shopping center off Glenn Ave. Parking can be a challenge when busy, otherwise not a problem. Open 7 days a week with limited hrs on weekends. Recently updated equipment and expanded group exercise room. Wide variety of fitness classes; personal training available. On-site childcare available in a cheerful, average size room; toys/tv ideal for children under 7, those older may be bored. Tanning and childcare may be free, depending on your membership. Avg monthly cost is $48; read contract fine print carefully. Sign in with your member number upon arrival; no membership cards to forget at home.

PROS: friendly, helpful staff; variety of fitness classes; tanning and childcare
CONS: smaller than other clubs but they make good use of space
