The very best Thai in LA. Wonderful! The flavors are unique and always perfect. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The specials are outstanding and all food is served like a work of art. There is pride here in the kitchen and out on the floor. People are proud of this world class Thai restaurant.I go here often and never have had a bad experience.

I'm not from Pasadena, but I work there often. Recently I met up with a friend who is a vegetarian, while staying in Pasadena. Saladang Song was recommended heavily by people at work - and by Insider Pages network friends.

The Saladang Song was a great choice because there were both vegetarian and non- vegentarian and fortunately he loves hot-hot Thai food.

The food was fantastic - and the portions were large. The only thing that was a disappointment was the vegetarian appetizer sampler, which was sort of bland and a bit greasy.

We were expecting some really spicy stuff, but it was the opposite. So maybe our expectations were a bit high. The entre's did not dissapoint us at all. The green curry is really hot - watch out. I suggest the Salmon if you love lots of food.

Needless to say Saladang Song "fit the bill" for a mixed Asian Vegetarian place just fine, although there could be a more explicit "Vegetarian Options" section to the menu. Hint: if you are Vegetarian or Vegan look under Rice Plates.

There is a free parking lot - and its not far Colorado Blvd (about 2 blocks south of Central Park). Theres also parking on the street.

PROS: Has some Vegetarian dishes, Hot and Delicious Curry
CONS: Veg. Appetizers were a bit bland.

I have found many mixed reviews of this restaurant online (on various sites), so my partner and I decided to see for ourselves. Simply put, our meals were shockingly unsatisfactory, in taste, quality, presentation, and price. Following the greasy, clumpy unhealthy and heavy meal, I felt disgusting and dirty inside, as though I had gained 10 pounds without enjoying the experience. Really, we should have eaten a pepperoni pizza; it certainly would have tasted better and cost much less! Please avoid Saladang Song in the future!

PROS: location-deceptive
CONS: everything else

I decided to check this place out after reading all the reviews on this place and it turned out to be a good dining experience. The high ceilings and decor give this place a good mood and their dishes are really tasty. It's not your usual Thai cuisine. It has it's own little edge to it which is different and refreshing.

PROS: Good food and reasonsably priced
CONS: Get crowded and parking can get hard to find

Excellent, excellent food! Romantic atmosphere - great place to take a date. I especially like the spicy poo-goong tom ga-ti (crab, shrimp, ginger, onion and chili in coconut milk). Not like the average Thai restaurant - innovative & modern. Delicious!

I must say I like Saladang more than Saladang Song. Although Song seems to be a bit more authentic, I simply like the food in Saladang more. Some of the dishes in here were just hit and miss. We ordered the coconut shrimp, which came with simply too much coconut!! We had to peel the layers of crisp coconut off to get to the shrimp. At the end, we had a large pile of coconut left on the plate. The other dishes were good. Ambience here is great.

As a Thai, I frequently recommend Saladang to anybody who asks me where to get a good Thai food in Pasadena. Saladang offers yummy fusion Thai-American cuisine. Restaurant is very clean, staff is very efficient and friendly, sometime it gets crowded though but it is worth it.

Saladang Song is a great restaurant - the difference between Saladang Song (south) vs Saladang (north) is (1) the outdoor dining area at Song is quite stunning in the evening, and (2) apparently Song's dishes are a bit more authentic Thai than Saladang.

Not only is the ambiance great, but the food is excellent and they have plenty of vegetarian options. I had the Midori's Envy w/Tofu which was the perfect vegetable dish. The Papaya salad was quite good too. Service was great but we went when it was not too crowded.

PROS: Ambiance, tasty, not too expensive, good service
CONS: Food might be a bit too spicy - try mild spiciness first

This place is awesome. I've been here several times now and every time I'm amazed at how good the value is. Their food and the atmosphere are both excellent.

My new thing is their ginger tea. It's amazing. So is their Thai iced tea, but let's be honest--Thai tea is good anywhere.

My advice--don't get the coconut ice cream and sweet rice dessert--it's good, but it costs as much as their entrees!

Saladang and Saladang Song are located about 30 feet from one another (same operators). I've only eaten at Song and can't recommend it enough. I love the building and have a hard time deciding whether to sit inside or outside - they're both cool for different reasons. The lunch specials are great and a good value. Dinner is pricier.

PROS: Decor, design, service, sauces, chicken skewers
CONS: nada.

Best Thai food. I always get the beef panang and when it's in season - the sticky rice and mango for dessert.

I love this place. They have an excellent variety of items to choose from including vegeterian treats, tasty authentic dishes, great Thai Iced Coffee and good service. I try to go at least once a week, and usually end up there at least twice! The peanutsauce is my favorite thing in the world.

This is some of the best Thai food around. The menu is a bit hard to read, but the food is delicious. One of my favorites is the Pad Thai, which comes wrapped in egg and is filled with noodles, shrimp, tofu and chicken. It's delicious. The atmosphere on the patio is beautiful. The restaurant itself is a nice surprise from what you see driving by - it's a well-kept treasure.

Very good Thai food, but fairly popular. The service isn't the best when it is overly crowded and the wait is typically long. However, they do offer carry out. When you factor in the very resonable prices, it is definitely worth a try. Yellow curryand sizzling beef are my personal favorites.

Excellent Thai/American food, good service, decor, and atmosphere. There is a running dispute on which is better, the Panang or the Red curry, so try both and let us know.
