One of my preferred wine shops in the east bay. They carry mostly European wines and have a great selection of Burgundy and Italian wines. It's really nice they're located inside Market Hall, it makes getting your entire dinner really easy. The staff is very knowledgeable on the wines they carry and always give me a good recommendation. The layout of the store is also very welcoming - not this white lab looking room that some other stores can look like.

Some have called this place the "High Fidelity of Wine Shops" simply because the staff can be a bit 'above it'.

This isn't a place for the wine novice. Their prices aren't bad, but they aren't great. They have a decent selection, but it's a small space and some regions are lacking. Their refrigerated section is uber-tiny so don't think you can get a great last minute chilled white or sparkling wine.

I see this place as a sort of secondary or last resort. It's better than Vino or *gasp* Trader Joe's but not a full service wine shop.

It could also be the lobster tanks from the meat market that's off putting...

Worth checking out if you're in the Rockridge Market Hall, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
