I do not understand how "I'm agast how many gave this restaurant a 5 star review" only to give it a 4 star review. This restaurant serves terrible food. AND it has been doing so for 50 years. It has a following because of local lore... Go to Brigantine"s Miguel's or the Brig's lounge for GREAT fish tacos. Nati's only survives because the locals -- Navy locals bring visitors there and TELL THEM IT IS GREAT! -- tell them so. If Nati's closed, no one would miss the food!

I'm aghast at how many 5 star reviews this place has planted. Honestly, the only Mexican food I'd rate lower is sold at Del Taco.
To be fair, I haven't come here since I was in high school.
Nati's was a favorite of my grandparents, so whenever I came down from the other end of the state we'd usually get a meal here. It was truly painful at the time because San Diego is one of the best places in the US to get Mexican food, and I'd be dying to go to one of the many taco shops in town. Of course, my grandparents being the all-american types loved this sort of gringo fiasco. Don't get me wrong, there are some gringorrific restaurants out there, but they usually do something different with the food. Nati's just dulls everything down.
Actually, dull would be the perfect way to describe the food here. I don't remember exactly what I ordered over the years. Probably because none of it made any sort of lasting impression.
I do have to give them a couple stars though because the waitstaff was calm and collected when we brought my grandpa, who had Alzheimer's and acted up a bit trying to sit with another group.
I agree with everyone else, parking can be difficult, but at least they have a parking lot unlike the surrounding eateries.

Okay, this isn't the BEST Mexican food in Ocean Beach, but the food is good. I'm especially fond of the tortas. If you are from out of town and are having trouble parking, Nati's has it's own parking lot.

This is not a she-she Mexican fusion joint. It's just great food, fast service, and a friendly atmosphere. The chile relleno's, carne asada, and shredded chicken tacos are cravable. Good for a family or a low key group outing. Try their top flight Margaritas, on the rocks.
