Last Week I took my M35Infinity to have my tires replaced, they quoted me a price on tires that I went to there web site with all the correct data. After I got there and the wheels taken off they told me it would be another $75.00 to have my tires replaced. They made a mistake in reading the tire size and would not pay for there own mistake. I have taken my cars (three) to wheel works for over 15 years and this will be the last time. I just went to Sears for my sons car and I got great service and paid less.

I made the mistake of taking my car for servicing to Wheel Works on Los gatos Blvd. When I walked in there was no other customer, but the employee was on the phone. He saw me and saw me again as I waited for approximately 10 min while he was on the phone. Another fellow walks in, this employee gets off the phone and with both of us standing there proceeds to ask this other fellow what he needs. White guy gets immediate service and asian guy will have to wait. Are you kidding me? In Los Gatos, CA in the 21st Century? The manager's response was the guy was new and is in training. Are you kidding me? In Los Gatos, CA in the 21st Century?

Read This First! Terrible Service!
I have been to this store several times but it now has new manager. The customer service is now terrible. I would say that everything seems fine at this store until you have a problem, then watch out. I would recommend the Goodyear store next door instead. The tires for my truck are cheaper there and wheel alignment is $30 less and customer service is much better. The problems started when I took my porsche 911 in to Wheel Works for new tires. I usually only go to dealer for service but they have stopped weekend service so I thought I would try this shop and not have to deal with it during the week . BIG MISTAKE!! After warning them in advance to be very careful and not scratch the wheels that cost $2000 each; when I came to pick up the car they regretted to inform me that they had made a big scratch in the right rear wheel. They said that they would fix it but needed to set up an appointment for a specialist to come in. I waited a week and no call so I went back and they again promised to call when they had it set up. I have been back several more times and it is now 9 months waiting. In the meantime I bought tires for my daughters Ford Explorer and brought up the issue again with the manager. He again promised to fix it and appologized for delay. Now this weekend, 9 months after the problem, I took my truck in for alignment and again brought up the issue. The new manager could find no record in his files and then tried to tell me that the wheels were probably already scratched when I brought the car in. They were no longer willing to fix the problem and were rude as well. This is not the kind of service I expect after spending over $3000 on tires at this store in the last year. Needless to say they are not getting any more of my business.

To say I received mediocre service would be a stretch!

After receiving a quote over the phone for between $60 and $80, I went in this morning to have my winter tires replaced with my summer tires. We agreed the newer two tires would go on the back, the older ones on the front. I was told the wait time would be 60 to 90 minutes. I took a seat and waited. No one ever bothered to give me an update in all the time that I sat in the waiting area. After 2 hours and 10 minutes, the service adviser approached and said my front end was out of alignment and asked it I wanted it aligned. I said I had been waiting over 2 hours and I didn't have time to have the front end aligned. It took another 20 minutes to get my car off the rack. When I inspected the ties the older ones had been placed on the back, the newer ones on the front. This was opposite to what we had agreed upon. The wheels were also dirty. They had failed to clean them. The bill was also higher then I was lead to believe. After questioning the service adviser, he reduced the bill but not to the amount quoted over the phone.

My tip to anyone wanting to take their car to Wheel Works - forget it!

If you do, it won't be the only thing getting screwed if you go to Wheel Works Los Gatos.

My wife brought her Subaru in to Wheel Works Los Gatos to get a tire repaired. The representative told her that the screw was too close to the sidewall, and would need replacing. Because her car is all-wheel-drive, she'd also need to replace the other three tires. The road hazard would only cover the one with the screw in it, so the other three were going to cost her $700.

We took the tire to another Wheel Works location, and they repaired it, saying that it was perfectly safe to do so.

I used to recommend this location, because it was convenient and had a friendly staff. Now I recommend you avoid it. There are many other places you can go for tires in this area.

EDIT: Wheel Works just called me to let me know that they were just following company policy. The policy is that tires with punctures on the shoulder should be replaced, because 0.1% of them "might" fail. This is a "Cover your ass" policy that's in place for the entire Bridgestone/Firestone family of tire stores. The manager was very courteous, and offered free oil changes or alignments to smooth over the situation. I've upped my rating because of the professional attitude of the manager. I don't think I'll be going back though. Their prices aren't exactly competitive, and their "Price matching guarantee" is very restrictive, only matching "Printed advertisement" prices for the whole installation package.
