I would not buy from this place. Try Melody Toyota instead as they offer muche better service. I went there with the family to look at a new Toyota Sienna. We had just finished looking at the Odyssey Touring Van at Honda of Serramonte. At Honda they were offering $10,000 off MSRP but we wanted to look at the Sienna since it has all wheel drive. The sleazy salesman said they will not give any discounts on the loaded Sienna models. We were ready to purchase that day as my wife needed a new work vehicle. The salesman would not speak to my wife or answer her questions. He would only speak to me. The car was for her and I was not the one purchasing it. I found this to be extremely rude and I know my wife was really fuming over this. She actually walked away and started talking to another salesman. I heard some of the salesman there swearing in the background and I had to move the kids away (ages 3 and 6) so they could not hear this. They were hanging out at the side of the store smoking and telling dirty jokes. Considering that this is supposed to be a professional environment I found the sales people to be sleazy and rude. If you have young children please leave them at home. We ended up going back to Honda and bought the Odyssey Touring that day. We received a follow up call from Toyota 101 the next day. The rude salesman hung up on us when we told him that we purchased the Honda. For better service and a $10,000 discount this was a no brainer.

First of all - I wish I could give zero stars.

I am so disappointed with Toyota 101 Service Department. I have a new Toyota (purchased at Toyota 101) and the air tire pressure warning light has come on twice. The first time, I was told by Toyota 101 (after being assured that the tire was completely checked) that nothing was wrong with the tire. The tire pressure warning light came on again (same tire was low) and since I was near Toyota 101, took the car in to be checked.

I was told that there was a nail in the sidewall of the tire and the tire could NOT be repaired and that I would have to buy a new tire. The price for the new tire was verbally quoted as $230.00. When I questioned the price of the tire, I was told it is a special tire made for the Prius.

Because the dealership did not have the tire in stock, I went home without a new tire and air in the tire with the slow leak so it was safe to drive.

The next morning I took the car into Redwood General Tire in Redwood City. The nail was taken out of the tire and the tire was repaired. I drove away with the tire fixed and a $32.00 charge for the repair. A charge for a repair that Toyota 101 said could not be done.

Beware of having your vehicle serviced at Toyota 101!!! I received a call from the service department indicating my repair was complete. Upon inspection it was immediately clear that the repair had not been performed correctly, and that the underlying problem had not been resolved. I had to wait several additional hours beyond the promised time of completion for the repair to be re-done correctly. It is unconscionable after I paid $1000 that the service department would claim the repair had been completed when it had not been done. I have previously been hassled at Toyota 101 with delays as the mechanics are lax about filling out paperwork.

Pros: car wash

Cons: shoddy repairs, long waits

This is an older facility, so it's tight. I was given time to look at the cars without pressure, and negotiations were painless. I think the fact that the salespeople are on a salary helps them be more civilized and less pushy. I like it.
I've only used the service department once, but they welcomed me as a new owner like they appreciate the business. The car was ready on time and they even washed it without me asking. I will return!

They have been my dealer of choice for 10 years, and I love the fact the sales people are paid a salary and not on commission. No pressure and no up-selling.
We have two Toyota's in the family now, and service them at this dealership also.
No problems with the cars or the staff. I'm thinking about the new Vensa after the newness wears off, so the prices drop.

Great place to take your car. They give it a wash after servicing. Not all places do this. Good customer service.
Really recommend. They call if there is something extra wrong or they have a question.

I went to this place shopping for a 2007 Prius. I??d done a lot of research beforehand, but still was very put-off by the condescending attitude of the salesperson I had to deal with. Maybe that should have been a warning sign, but omens be damned, I wanted that Prius, even if it meant putting up with a jerk in a tie and short sleeves for a few hours.

After some quite tedious back and forth over the price, we did finally settled on a price that was agreeable. Or so I thought. When it was time to deal with the finance manager and sign the contract, I was incensed to find that they were trying to sneak in a much higher interest rate than the one they??d already promised.

Look, I get how this sort of thing works. If you??re not paying attention, unscrupulous salespeople will milk that for all its worth. I suppose what I found most infuriating was the self-righteous tone they took when I called them on it. The sleazy general manager began shouting at me, and arguing that I was the one at fault! I really don??t know how else to characterize the people I had to deal with, other than as unprofessional, and downright immoral. I hope that if you do decide to shop here, you??ll be very, very careful, and that you have a thick-skin when it comes to people generally insulting your intelligence with games and low-balling tactics.

In general, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and don??t want to leave bad reviews over every little minor annoyance. But in this instance, I really feel morally obligated to share my very poor experience with everyone else. If I hadn??t been paying attention the entire time, the general manager of this dealership would have happily jobbed me out of a few extra thousand bucks.

In short, if you want to be treated like an idiot and don??t mind being ripped off, by all means, give this place a shot. Otherwise, I would strongly recommend Fremont Toyota, where there was a refreshing lack of sleaziness and I was able to get a better deal in half the time I wasted at this place.

Bought my 2006 Prius in June from Toyota 101, first service needed to replace rear small window broken by a baseball. Was told I must preorder and pay for the part. Poor attitude, very little information about the process. I called Toyota Sunnyvale Service Dept and what a difference. Cheeful, full of useful information, no need for me to pre-order the part. Called Toyota 800 Customer Service and told them the story too, and they had even more useful suggestions, so now I don't have to go to Toyota 101 service at all. I can change the oil myself so I am going to avoid Toyota 101 Service Dept at all costs.

PROS:
CONS: Poor communication, bad attitude.

I just bought my Prius from here, and it was a very nice experience. I had to be put on a waiting list (there's a 2-3 month backlog of Prius orders), so that may have been part of it (they can't really upsell something when I knew what I wanted and would have to wait for it anyway). But when I went in to actually take possession of an alternative they presented (not my #1 color choice), I found the sales woman (Ana -- kudos) was not really pushing me to take the alternative.

Then I found out why -- their sales people are NOT commission based. Yes, their employment is based on sales performance, so they still want you to buy a car, but they're not being pressured paycheck to paycheck to sell as many cars as possible. I think that's the big win.

Once I got into finance, I was presented with several "options", naturally, but the gentleman was not at all pushy; he explained what each of the options were, I said I wasn't interested in any of them, (except one where I get a discount if I pre-pay for the regular maintenance services), and we moved on. No hard sell.

I was in and out in about two and a half hours, and that included all the credit checks, clearing of financing, getting the car detailed and fueled up before I left, a quick rundown of operation, and all the forms.

I would definitely feel good about dealing with this place again.

PROS: Helpful, not pushy, staff. No "four-square" tricks
CONS: I didn't manage to get the price down (but my car was on backorder)

We bought our Prius here. I was very impressed by there honesty. I really didn't feel too pushed into buying a car here. I actually felt like they didn't care. We are loving our Prius.

I have had my car serviced by toyoya 101's "ace" mechanic Alex for many years. He is honest and does a terrific job. I have also shopped toyota 101 for a new car and found the service to be excellent with no pressure.

My daughter bought her very first new car from Toyota 101 last April. I wish I remembered the name of the sales persons that we dealt with. But I have never dealt with more honest and helpful gentlemen. They helped her get the best deal possible without pushing her to over extend herself like some dealers will do. I would highly recommed doing business with this dealership.

I have been to Toyoto 101 recently as I planned to get a new vehicle. I found the representatives out there very helpful and knowleagable they provided me every slightest detail of the car and even offered me very best rates. I even came to know that it is the only one dealer in the San Francisco Bay area to have a No Commission sales team.

My neighbor purchased her 14 month old Toyota from here and always lets us know what a great place it is. I would have to agree. I came looking for a new car, but I found how much you could save purchasing a pre-owned factory refurbished vehicle. There is an awesome selection of cars. The used cars are all clean and detailed, and they even allow you to set your own purchase terms. That's because these are non-commision based sales people. If you want to finance, that is fine. They don't mind if you pay cash too. In all, you get a problem free car with little hassles.

No pressure dealer who really seemed to want to help me make the right decision. They were very patient with all my questions. This is probably because none of the employees work off of commission. It makes such a difference. I haven't yet brought my car into get service, so I can't vouch for that.
