Stella's has the best cannolis in the city! I love this bakery, it's not as well known, but it's amazing. During the holidays they make a Hanukkah gingerbread house which is great.
5I think we have tried everything that Stella has to offer, but the cannoli and tiramisu are out of this world!
I make it a point to go to San Francisco just to eat and Stella is always a regular stop. Everything is
great!

Pros: You can't go wrong with any pastry or cookie
Cons: You may eat too much!
I went to this place after a big breakfast so I had the Chocolate cake, napoleon, mixed berry cake and sacripantina to go. Eventually, I ate them after few hours later and everything was so goooooood. Sacripantia was absolutely delicious! It just melts on your mouth with not too sweet but right amount of delicate cream made with egg yolks, sweet butter, rum, marsala and sherry wines. It's amazing! Other cakes were good too but you can ONLY taste Sacripantina HERE! Definitely going back to this place next time I visit SF.

Stella's Bakery is so good I was named after it. My parents bought their wedding cake there. The cake was so tasty and the name so awesome and I was their first born, so they named me Stella.

Even late on a Saturday afternoon with people cramming the cases, the staff was friendly, helpful and a real pleasure. The selections were awesome and they take the time to explain whats what if you need help. Get something to go and eat it late at night in you rhotel room. You'll bee back for more I guarantee it.

When I moved to SF in the 1980s, I found Stella Pastry and fell in love with the sacripantina. In 1999 I moved to the East Coast, in 2006 I just returned to the city by the bay. The next generation may have taken over, but the quality and recipes are unchanged. Stella Pastry is a jewel in North Beach, not to be missed. The cookies are wonderful, lovely coffee and the sacripantina, well it is what they are known for. It's beyond description, except it is absolutely to die for. I hate giving away secret places in San Francisco, but Stella Pastry is a place too good to keep secret.

Pros: Everything is absolutely delicious
Cons: When tempted, I can eat to much of a good thing!
As a person who's on the constant prowl for delicious pastries, I would recommend Stella's Pastry for their scripantina and their (fairly decent) tiramisu.
Instead of baking a cake in a hot kitchen? It?s easier to secure a cream cake and just take it over to a friend's place or gathering.
Not necessarily a great deal, but not horribly expensive. As usual, watch your calories and sugar level.
PROS: Delicious
CONS: Watch your calories

Stella Pastry Caffe, located in North Beach, has a huge variety of Italian pastries, all of which are delicious. The pignoli cookies here are delicious! The service is exquisite, but what?s best is their sacripantina - Italian sponge cake ? if you?re ever in North Beach and in the mood for sweets and carbs, you should find this place.
PROS: Authentic Italian pastry
CONS: Not cheap

The Stella caffe has a wide range of delcious cookies. I love their almond biscotti or cantucci which has a strong smell of Almond. besides that, I recommend you to try their occi di bue ( strawberry cookies), Taralli, Delizzia and their most famous Sacripantina

and I can't find it in New York!! All of Stella's pastries are delicious, the tiny neighbourhood bakery is charming, but it's the sacrapantina that I dream about from across the continent.

You cannot go wrong with ANYTHING from Stella.
From their sprinkle cookies to their cakes we have never had a treat less than spectacular! We were married in The City recently and wanted our cake to be a surprise to us. And boy what a surprise - Sacripantina!!! Our guests are still talking about it today! - great coffee, wonderful treats, and sweet charm! Stella is a MUST for everyone!

Staffs are nice & sincere to talk to when I called to ask for recommandations. Sacripantina surely worths its reputation. Tiramisu is good too, but I think it's not the best yet. Many choices of cookies!!! I will easily spend $30 just to try their cookies!!! Sometimes the wait might be long because the store is packed.

When I was in San Francisco for only two days, my sister made me promise that I stop at Stella Pastry for a box of their amaretti cookies. They are the best we have ever had, perfectly chewy but crisp on the outside, and perfect with a cup of coffee.
