Raya Day Spa (since 1982) is by far one of the most luxurious and affordable Day Spa in Los Angeles. It is without a doubt Raya Spa’s exceptional and affordable European skin care treatments, exclusive and effective Raya's Brand skin care products and, most importantly, Raya’s amazing staff of dedicated, licensed, and expertly trained professionals: 21 exceptional aestheticians - facial and waxing specialists, 5 excellent massage therapists, 5 outstanding front desk assistants, 2 dedicated full time on-site cleaning, maintenance and spa attendants.

Ok. I really NEVER write reviews. I am far too busy for this kind of thing. But my experience at Raya today thoroughly deserved one. I needed some major decompressing from all the stressors in life today. I went to Sandra for waxing/facial and I wish I knew her name (she is Thai) for a massage. These two ladies were the NICEST, most skilled women in their chosen professions I have interacted with in LA. Sandra was such a pleasure taking careful concern to ask me about my skin and to deliver an AMAZING facial which left me with GLOWING skin, and my massage was the best massage I've received literally in YEARS! I am a very happy client today!!!!!

I LOVE this place! My girlfriends and I go every few months for facials, and its sooo nice. Sometimes we use the sauna/steam facilities and sometimes not (but I love when we do!) Either way, I've never had a negative experience. The estheticians (sp?) are very knowledgeable and don't forcefully try to sell you their products like some places do. All of the products are 100% natural and feel and smell so good. I come out of there feeling like a new woman every time. The only thing I ask my husband for at Christmas time is a gift certificate to Raya - and thankfully he obliges every year (and for my birthday too!)

My daughter raved about her experiences at raya. A lot of her friends are regular customers, and they recommended the spa to her. Everyone thinks that it is the best day spa in Los Angeles. My daughter has been coming for the last year, and she swears by their products.

I had a European facial with Lena this morning. She was delightful - extremely professional. I just loved the results. My skin feels fabulous, and it is glowing!!! I am planning on using some of their other services in the future.

Although I live in San Diego, I definitely will schedule my next facial appointment when I visit my daughter in West Hollywood.

I loved everything about the spa!!! Everyone that I met was courteous and warm.

I have been going to Raya for 2 years and its definitely the best facial salon around. For years I had problem skin and now its beautiful and clear. I tried so many other skin treatments, but their facials and products really helped my skin. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxing and friendly.

I was very pleased with my experience at Raya. I had a facial and a bikini wax. Both were very professional, my face feels and looks great. The wax was less painful than my previous place and with great results. The rooms are clean, modern and the prices are great. Its especially important for those of us who are regular goers.

I decided to give a shot this place because of good reviews. I went there for facial but the esthetician was very hard on my face even I told I have very sensitive skin. Her facial massage was terrible. Also, the whole time she was talking about products and the money of their other services made me uncomfortable. I am really addicted to cosmetic products and I always end up by buying something, but here I did not even listen about products because I felt she just wanted to sell me some products. This place is very clean and cheap but my face is more important than anything.

This place looks clean, seems friendly enough, probably good at other services, but by god, do NOT go here for a bikini wax. especially do NOT go with a woman named CARMELLA. Never in my life have i been treated so poorly and gotten a worse waxing job.

I came in to the room and she said "you know what to do, lets make this quick" verbatim. first of all. its a SPA. I was so confused that she was standing there waiting for me to take my clothes off, she clapped her hands yelling " come on what are you waiting for!"

THEN she proceeded to rip away hair WITHOUT following standard waxing procedure, she barely pressed down on the strip or waited for the warm wax to set, resulting in very painful waxing, and a very splotchy job. I couldn't believe that was happening. and THEN she proceeded to say, " next time come on time."
I was on time, except i had to wait around in the garage for a nonexistent parking attendant. She said that multiple times as she repeatedly put the used strip back on and reusing the used part on the splotchy area - ripping the same spot over and over again.

I dont know how they train their people, but you should know, NOT to dunk the same waxing stick that got used into the wax jar, thats disgustingly unhygienic. AND not to restick and wax using the same used wax on the strip, talk about cheap and unhygienic.
She then looked at the poor job she did and said " your skin is too sensitive, the hair is not coming off, and i could tweeze it but it will hurt you, so i wont." not only did she refuse to fix the poor job she did, she blamed ME for it!

I left with red, bleeding pores, a lapful of powder that she dumped on me and a "leave the door open on your way out" as she left the room. Did i mention it hurt and is now red and rashy. Count your lucky stars you don't leave with an infection from the unhygienic and unprofessional service. Im never coming here again. I can't believe it got best brazillian vote on citysearch.

I've struggled with my skin for years. When I was a teenager, I was on accutane, which cleared up my skin for a few years. But now that I'm an adult, I get extra frustrated with my breakouts. I've tried everything, including expensive dermatologist visits. One of my girlfriends who also suffered from bad behaving skin showed up at an event one night with beautiful, glowing, clear skin. I was so shocked. I asked her what the heck she'd been doing because I'd never seen her skin look like that. She said she had been getting facials, once a month, at Raya. I booked my appointment the next day and have been so thrilled. Connie is sweet and does an excellent job. She has really made my skin beautiful again. For the first time in my life, people compliment me on my skin. I have to say, that is the best $67 I've ever spent.

I was fortunate enough to be referred to Raya's by some ladies who work in the entertainment industry. After the very first facial, I understood why they kept raving that Raya's was the best in L.A. It is worth the 40 minute drive from the southbay to Hollywood. I am constantly receiving compliments about my skin and I can see the improvement after one of my facials. The products are all made by Raya's husband who is a chemist and they are extremely affordable and have the best scents of any products I've tried. Treat yourself to Raya's...you deserve it.

I have had several facials at Raya Spa and I keep coming back. Their friendly staff put you at ease as soon as you walk in the door. The environment of the spa is super relaxing and authentic. The facials are amazing. They really look at your skin and customize a facial just for you. They also explain each step for you if you are interested, so you know all the wonderful things they are doing to your skin.

I've been coming to Raya for my bikini waxing for over a year. Though this procedure can hardly be pleasant, this is the best place I've found for waxing. Their wax and the technique used makes the Brazilian much less painful, and it's quicker, too. I appreciate the kindness and professionalism of the specialists who perform it. The location couldn't be better for me. I like the atmosphere of the place, because it is friendly and unpretentious. I think their products are great as well.

I decided to try Raya out because I saw they were voted number one on Citysearch by the users. The spa itself is nice, but the brazilian wax was not. Just so you know, this was not my first time getting one. I've been getting them for over a year and a half and have never had a complaint about them. First of all, the wax was way too hot. I tried to tell the esthetician and she just said that was how it was supposed to be. When she was pulling the wax off, it was painful which I have never experienced before. She pulled it really slow and on top of it, went over each area more than once. She also left wax all over my legs and instead of cleaning it off, she just threw baby powder over it. Since it had dried, it took forever to remove. And to top it all off, she didn't even get off all of the hair! I know that usually you will have some stray hairs here and there, but no, she left patches of hair. So in the end, I walked away burned, bruised and still had to shave on top off it because there was too much hair to just pluck. Never again.

I recently took a friend's recommendation and tried Raya Spa for the first time. I loved it! Peaceful, relaxing, professional environment. I highly recommend! The overall quality of their services, and their products, and the caring and experienced staff. I was looking for a good spa ...I found a great one.

Just gave them a try last week. The staff was very friendly. It's a large spa which you have your privacy and the prices are great. I liked the decoration, you feel so comfortable inside. I got a body scrub and a massage, and my skin was soft as a baby afterwards. If you are looking for a spa to go, this place is it. Next time I am going for a facial.

I booked a "Deep Tissue" massage at Raya after finding them online. They are very clean & the staff seemed professional enough...but...
I felt like the massage therapist had no idea what she was doing. I asked her to use more pressure twice. She proceeded to massage my bones, not the muscles...my shoulder blades & spine, not the muscles between and around them. I frequent spas. This was not a deep tissue massage. I am not sure what it was. I picked Raya because of these reviews. A member of the staff said everybody that comes in there finds them online. I thought I could save a little money. I will not be using them again.

I go to Raya Spa for a facial once every 6 weeks or so, and have been doing so for the past year. Very friendly staff at the front desk, both when you call to make an appointment and when you get there to check in. it took me a couple of visits with different esthetitians for my facial before I found Koni, who i highly recomend, she is gentle and soft spoken, explain everything she does, and really cares about the wellbeing, comfort and overall experience, it seems she really likes her job and goes that extra mile. My complexion has never been better and it's such a relaxing experience, especially after a long stressfull week...The place is clean and modern, and the prices are great. You should try it!

After working two jobs and being a single mom, I can always use a little pampering. About 4 months ago, I was going through a difficult financial stretch and was unable to treat myself to the luxury of spa and facials. Then a friend told me about Raya Day Spa. She has been a client for a long time. Their great prices make it possible for me to relax in style. The atmosphere is great and their estheticians are first rate. The Vital Silk skin treatment leaves your skin glowing for days and the hot stone massage can't be beat. One of my favorite places to go for some ?me time? .

OMG!! This is the best place for Brazilian wax! The people are so nice and welcoming and the wax is SO much less painful than anything I've experienced before. It's really sanitary and very warm and welcoming when you enter. The ladies at Raya were very professional and they made me feel very comfortable.
They use a special green wax, which does not pull the skin as much. I also had an upper lip wax which was great because I didn't get a rash that I usually get when waxing because of my sensitive skin. I highly recommend Raya for waxing! I can't wait to go back for a facial.

I don't go to spas often but thought it would be nice to relax with the world the way it is now. The services where unbeleivable. I had the stone massage and a facial and left there feeling so refreshed and clean. I cannot wait to go back for there for other spa services and the people there where so nice. Took some products home and loved them.

I just moved to LA and heard about Raya from a girl who works at Fred Segals (great for trendy shopping). She told me it was THE place for skin and body care in LA. I have visited twice and loved the place the products. The first facial I got was intense and I was a bit nervous because it left red spots for a few days. Then a week after, my skin has never looked SO AMAZING. I just got my second facial and am so happy that I discoverd Raya. They have about three dozen employees and they all looked booked. I had a facial with Irene the first time and Lili the second. I was very pleased both times. The prices are very reasonable, especially compared to NYC. The place is clean, modern and posh. A girl in the lobby had a body scrub and said it was great, so I'm getting one next time.

Went here with my sister. Arrived a few minutes early and we were shown to the locker room and I thought I was going to die, 2 steam rooms, a huge sauna and everything is immaculate. Massage was great and very relaxing. Then we went in for facials and it was just great, I had mine done with oxygen (smells fantastic), and it was so relaxing. They have a huge product selection and the prices are unbeatable. I took the recommendations from my facial and bought the products - my skin has never been better.

My mom and I both had the facial and deep tissue massage. We were very very happy with the facial but extremely disappointed with the massage. We both like strong massages, hence the request for deep tissue massage. My mom said she kept asking the masseuse to do the massage stronger, but the masseuse seemed unable to, maybe she's good with Swedish massages only. Then she shouldn't be giving deep tissue massages. My mom said her massage was ok but not as strong as she wanted it to be. My massage on the other hand was FAR FROM OK. It was one of the worst massages I have ever received. She kept rubbing my back with her fingers with rapid movements, making my skin itch from the friction. She never used her elbows, which they normally do for deep tissue massages. She rubbed my back and legs a lot with the lotion. I didn't feel any better after the massage. My shoulders and back were still tense as when I first walked in. If I was the manager of Raya, I would get a massage from their masseuse before hiring them because I don't believe this lady even knows what a deep tissue massage is. I feel I just threw $90 down the toilet. I told them about this at the front desk and they said they would mentioned it to management, but I have not heard from them at all.

I think it is safe to say that I'm pretty much a regular at Raya - the place is perfect! It has an accessible location, very convenient hours, offers every service you need at super competitve prices, friendly and professional staff, It is a total overall wellness experience. If you haven't given this place a try, you owe it to your self. I've had facials, waxes and massage treatments here.I can honestly say that each experience has been exactly what I was looking for. I definitely will continue to be a regular at Raya

If you haven't given this place a try, you owe it to your self. I've had facials, waxes and massage treatments here.I can honestly say that each experience has been exactly what I was looking for. I definitely will continue to be a regular at Raya

Pros: THIS PLACE IS VERY COOL

Hi, my name is Julie. I would like to thank you for an incredibly relaxing experience I had at your Salon. I have been a client for a couple of years now. The interior is beautiful, it looks and feels like a posh salon but with incomparable prices. I had an Out Of This World Massage and a best facial ever.. Thank You. Highly recommended for quick wax, great facials, pleasant atmosphere. I will come back real soon.

i love raya, i have only been there twice so far, both times i had the european facial. indeed it comes very close to a european facial, if not even better...the spa itself is very modern, ultra clean and i think it's better than bliss spa for half the price. ask for jennifer, she does an amazing job, she is very precise and really really nice. raya really needs a new website though!

I was very impressed with the facility and services. The building and service areas are clean, contemporary (yet warm), and very "SPA". I had the most professional European facial in years followed by a cascading water massage body treatment that was a good value and worth every penny (great Mothers Day Gift). Open Sundays too. Highly Recommended.

I went to Raya last week, and got a facial and a massage. The facility is clean, the atmosphere is calming and the staff is very professional. It truly had the spa feeling. The girl who gave my facial (Dianne or Dianna?) was very friendly and made me comfortable (although the scars from the extractions are still on my face a week later). The massage was probably the worst I have ever had. I am not a masseus, but have had enough massages to know that THAT was NOT a Swedish massage. It was basically someone rubbing lotion on my back for about an hour. I kept asking her to please focus on my problem areas and please press a little harder, but she had an agenda of her own. Afterwards she rushed out of the room before I could get her name. I left feeling that I needed a massage. In the waiting room I spoke with another girl who had the exact same experience an hour before me, and we wondered if we had the same masseus, or if everyone at Raya gives their massages that way. This person should be sent back to massage school- she shouldn't pretend to be a professional masseus.

I had no idea what to expect when I made my appointment. I had looked into some other spa's on the internet but all of them seemed a little to costly and commercial. When I walked in to the Spa it was intimate and personal. The atmosphere from the door was relaxing and inviting. The service that I received was very good. The women were very polite, personable, kind, and made sure that I was comfortable. I would go there again and would recommend it for anyone who wants quality service for a reasonable price.

I went for a relaxing facial.. what i got was the NOT the most relaxing experience. Not only did it start 15 minutes late (so i was waiting a total of 30 minutes because they tell you to get there 15 min early), but it didn't include any of the services that any other place give you i.e: a mini massage while masks are cooling. Also, i felt as though they just wanted to sell me products. The whole time the person giving me a facial was talking to me and telling me about things i need to do to have better skin. It was not a relaxing experience at all.

I had a $67 facial today that was wonderful. If I hadn't read all the reviews I wouldn't have believed it possible in L.A.. I added on the spa service, which made it $85, but they were running a special so it was $75. The spa in general is modern and tastefully done with lots of stone, tile and contemporary amenities. The receptionist was very polite and kind. The steam room was very enjoyable. My facialist Suzanne was wonderful. She had the perfect touch, played calming music, quietly explained to me each thing that she was doing and asked me multiple times if I was comfortable. I felt completely taken care of and pampered. And to my surprise, she didn't push any products on me either. It was a wonderful experience and absolutely worth the money. I'm grateful that I've finally found a wonderful spa in L.A. that I will definitely return to and tell my friends about. I only wish I'd booked a massage too!

I think this was one of the best facials for the money out there. I think my facialist took about 90 minutes and it was only about $100. It was so relaxing and innovative! My skin also looks phenomenal. Koni seemed very experienced and made suggestions for processes based on my skin type. Highly recommend!

Ijust left Raya Spa 20 minutes ago and wanted to review before I got tied up. I am an exec for Travel and Leisure Magazine and therefore travel for a living. Visiting Spas and destination resorts is often part of a days work (Its not a bad gig, I know). I loved Raya Spa, and will actually mention it in an article. Clean, classy, professional, and affordable. I tried just to enjoy the day, as it was a Valentine's day gift , and not to analyze everything to exhaustion (though, impossible for me). I thinks its the best value in town and has very impressive details (luxury equipment, plasma TV?s, lots of staff to assist, supplies replenished immediately, inviting aura, soothing color palate). I would recommend on site lunch (although there is a sushi bar just a shop over , and Earth Cafe is down the street). They have a roof deck with a relaxing vista, I would love to see them offer services or lunch there (just an idea). I visited as a regular client and recommend this spot wholeheartedly.

I was excited to visit a spa with a variety of services and treatments but what I found was poor service. I go to a spa for the treatments but more importantly the service. I would not recommend this spa but you don't care about customer service.

It was my first brazilian since moving here from another city, and I was thrilled with the results, the price, and the excellent service. The salon is upscale but extremely affordable and people are very friendly.

I have been going to Raya spa for about 12 years now! The facilities are fabulous and very relaxing. Lena is WONDERFUL! I drive from San Diego almost every 2 months to have a facial done by her and occasionally a bikini and eyebrow wax. In addition, Oksana is a WONDERFUL masseuse. Raya skin care products are fabulous with lots of varieties and extremely affordable! It's definitely worth a 2 hour drive to Raya spa to have services done by Lena and Oksana!!!!

I recently found Raya online and was shocked at how inexpensive their facials were...after reading numerous great reviews, I figured I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! I went and had an amazing 70 minute facial complete with two masks, extractions, etc. for $65! My skin is still glowing a week later. I am definitely going back to purchase a series of facials asap!

just moved from NYC and was looking for a new place for waxing , i just tried Raya and it was great !
I have been waxing for 12years, so i can comfortabley say this was an excellent experience and job well done. The price was very good, for those of us who wax every month this is definately part of the decition factor , in fact i often think salons should have deals for those who wax all year long every month, some small discount , or one of those cards you stamp like in a coffee shop-if you guys at Raya are reading, think about it...;)

great job, excellent wax, great atmosphere, the place is beautiful and super clean, and great pricing, kudos! i highly recommend it, and no doubt will be back myself.

I've been hearing about this great spa but until now haven't had the opportunity to see for myself. What a great place. If I had known I wouldn't have waited so long. The place is gorgeous, the people our gracious, the service is over the top. I signed up for the works. I've been to a lot of spas but must say this was the best massage I've ever had. My facial person was very knowledgeable and she gave me an excellent facial.

I had been going to Raya consistently for the past several years for waxing (spending a good chunk of money there). I decided to try the spa services I had seen offered--the sign of a truly loyal customer. I called and made appointments--a massage for my mom and and a facial for me. I confirmed with the receptionist that my mom and I would be able to enjoy the "spa facilities" together.

However, when we arrived I was told I would not be able to use the spa facilities because I had booked the basic facial and not the facial which was the next level up. I explained I was not aware of this policy, particularly because the receptionist who booked my appointment did not mention this when I explicitly asked if my mom and I would be able to use the facilities together. Instead of recognizing that someone on their end had made a mistake and extending a one time courtesy in an effort to correct the situation, the receptionists working argued extensively about the situation (in front of several waiting customers). During their attempted explanations, the receptionists said that this was the policy in order to keep a "reasonable" number in the spa. However, during further discussions with the acting manager, I was told that they would let me use the facilities if I upgraded my facial to the next level. So you only have room for me in spa facilities if I pay more money? It was clear they were just trying to squeeze an extra $20 out of me. I refused and let them know that I would never come back for any services as a result of this.

Here's the kicker--my mom had already gone in to have her treatment and came out with only bad things to say: there was no real spa facilities, a maintenance man walked in the spa facilities unannounced, and the massage therapist was unprofessional. Oh--and it turned out she was the only person in the spa. There are too many good places in L.A. to be wasting time and money with this place.

Raya Day Spa on La Cienega Blvd is so relaxing...for last 10 years I get a facial every month with Lili or Suzanne & my skin always glows. I also love their skincare products souffles, collagen day cream, vitasilk C, & replenishing body products are just some of my favorites. Highly recommend to use their sauna and steam facilities and have a great massage with Oksana or Laura -they are the best massage therapists in town. Everyone there is so friendly & helpful....front staff always greets you with a smile..really makes you feel welcome. I highly recomend everyone visiting Raya European Day Spa what ever service you have you will be satisfied.

I have experienced all levels of skin care/spa venues, but this one tops the charts. You are not rushed or made to feel like just another customer, but cared for by experienced estheticians. The atmosphere is very pristine. The staff makes you feel relaxed, important, and welcome. There is a wonderful variety of spa/beauty treatments that come highly recommended. Prices are reasonable with the availability of discounts when purchasing packages. I am proud to be a client.

A wonderful place to go to get a relaxing massage and be treated with respect, dignity, courtesy and privacy. The environment is esthetically pleasing, very clean and comfortable. Most of the therapists give a really deep massage, have been there for a long time and are very knowledgeable & professional. The place is very upscale and immaculate. I highly recommend them. They have made the spa experience pleasurable and lower priced, making it affordable for everyone.

This was my first time at the Raya Spa. Initially I expected this to be a positive experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The building was nice looking on the outside and clean on the inside. I enjoyed the sauna, and the steam room was relaxing. But then came my massage I wish I had checked some references I don't know where they hired this "massage therapist" but she had one technique... Shake and rub it till it burns. Not to mention I felt she was getting a bit fresh with my areas. It was impossible to relax the massage did absolutly nothing for me, but make me feel kinda violated. I was kicking myself the next day for not stoping it early and getting off her table. I hope this review saves somebody else from going through the same awful experience.

This salon has the best, most knowledgeable, most caring skin care I have ever experienced not only in LA , but in the United States. The place itself is beautiful and spacious. The atmosphere is relaxing. I have been to many facialists over the years, and since coming here I will not trust anywhere else with my newly radiant skin. If you are looking for a skin care salon to give you the utmost in healthy, beautiful skin, you owe it to yourself to make an appointment at Raya. The pricing is very low for this type of luxury spa as well, so I can go more often and enjoy their spa services.

I just moved to the area and I've been getting massaged and facials for a long time. The ambiance was what you would expect for a spa. They had a nice shower, good products, and nice steam rooms. I was told they just remodeled a few years ago. The walls of the rooms are very thin so you can hear people talking and doors slamming periodically. The facial was normal, the girl was very nice, her name was Sandra. I prefer to have my facials very slow, soothing, and gentle. Her style was much more quick and intense. The facial only went for 60 minutes and was supposed to go for 70 minutes. I didn't mind that too much because she accomplished what I went there for. My deep tissue massage started late, it felt very rushed. The massage therapist seemed to want to get out of there (I think I was her last client). The massage only went for 50 minutes and it was supposed to go for 1 hour. I minded the massage much more because ... well... it's a massage!! Anyway, I demanded that they give me a prorated discount for the 10 minutes that I didn't get for the massage. I thought that was only fair. I may or may not go back there. I am definately going to try other places first, and if I can't find anything better for a compariable price for the services, then I will go back. Overall, I give this spa an average rating.

Pros: Good prices, new facility, open everyday, staff was nice

Cons: Not as relaxing as other spas, felt rushed.
