I lived in the Allied Gardens area for many years before moving to North County. This little restaurant on Waring Road was the only sadness of moving away. The Mona Lisa restaurants are both family owned but the recipes are completely

We went to Mona Lisa (on the recommendation of an aquaintence) to celebrate my 58th birthday.
We ordered Lasagnia, Eggplant Parmesian and Spaghetti. The eggplant tasted (and appeared) to have been sliced, placed on a plate, covered with mozzarella cheese and then microwaved. It had no Parmesian, was bitter and the sauce on all 3 dishes tasted as though someone had dumped a 25 pound bag of sugar in it.
After receiving the food, the waitress never returned to the table again (there were 3 on duty and fewer customers). We had to ask several times for the check.
If you want real Italian food, go elsewhere or make it yourself. It couldn't be worse than what was served at Mona Lisa. (Canned food would have been better quality).

Pros: None
Cons: Bad food
The food here has always been consistently good here. I've eaten here several times and the staff is always friendly, the food great, and the drinks served with a smile.
4I have been eating at Mona Lisa for over 20 years and I have never been disappointed in their food or service. My personal favorite is the Number 8 Pizza, Pepperoni, Sausage, Mushroom and Onions. The pizzas are great, cheese on the top, which is how a pizza should be made. The Mona Lisa Torpedo sandwich is also a favorite of mine, cold or toasted. For great Italian food try Mona Lisa

Whether it be their pizza, pasta or sandwiches you can't go wrong here. Their calamari salad is incredible I had it ones in Italy and was excited to see it on the menu. Their deli selection is worth the trip everthing is fresh,if you want a bargin then you can stop by the deli and buy their 99 cents sandwich which they make daily.

Mona Lisa has a great Italian atmosphere. They have good food with a really good red sauce. The service is fast. They have a few desserts to choose from. The take-out is just as good and quick. Mona Lisa has the greatest pizza and garlic bread. They do well with kids and the have a clown come in one night a week that does face painting and entertainment.
