Great high end market with an exceptional selection of gourmet food and wine. They import items from all over and the staff will gladly tell you about them. They even host open houses and cooking classes on topics such as butchering, fancy

I had been calling several butcher shops before asking if they had any grass fed beef. When I called Taylors they told me yes. I asked if they had any PORTERHOUSES and they replied "YES". I even had them check if they were in stock and again the answer was "YES".
I drove over 30 miles to come and get these steaks. When I got there all the had was crappy rib eyes and ground chuck. I told them I had called yesterday and that they even gave me a price. They replied, "I only got one phone all yesterday about the grass fed and it was for ribeye." I replied that I did call yesterday and was even given a price!! They told me that was the price for the ribeye. I told them I specifically asked for Grass fed PORTERHOUSES and they assure me they had it. The tall Jacka ss behind the corner told me with a SNOTTY ATTITUDE, "You said ribeyes!"
I replied to him back in an over NICE voice, "I would NEVER ask for ribeyes, ME and my family do not like them adn I know what I asked for, may of though ribeyes when I asked for the PORTERHOUSES." He proceded to tell me I was full of S hit. Now mind you if I wanted ribeyes, I could of gone to the Butcher that was 5 minutes from my house, Orangevale butchers had them(but why, I dont like them) and their customer service is top notch and off the wall. I only drove that far because they said they had them. I know never to go back there and by the way, I usedto grow and butcher my own beef (grass fed) and the meat in their display case looked AWFUL, Extremely fatty and looked almost gey in color (Means Meat IS NOT FRESH- been sitting almost a week). I wouldn't doubt if they added salt water to it to make it weight more. A lot of the meat was light pink (salt water does this). They may tell you this is for flavor and tenderising, but for 18.99 a pound why should you pay for salt water? You can salt it and tenderize it when you get home. That is some pretty expensive salt water!!! All in all I would advise you to avoid this place like the PLAGUE!!!

Pros: Variety of meats
Cons: has salt water added to add weight so you pay more
One of the best high-end markets I have ever seen, rivals the stores in San Francisco and Marin. Small space, but their stock is very good. Their meat department is the best in town.
PROS: great store
CONS:
