The techs knew their way around my car and delivered in a quick fashion, although not one of the more inexpensive places, I like their facility.

Daniel Cole was awesome. He did everything he could to get me into a wonderful 2009 Toyota corolla and I love it. Thanks again Daniel.

My daughter and I were looking for a Toyota Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle. Toyota of San Diego was the first dealership we visited. The first saleman who tried to help us got frustrated with us and passed us off to Newton. I'm so glad he did. Newton was very helpful and considerate. He isn't the typical car salesman, but someone you can trust and isn't pushy. He had our best interests at heart. We ended up paying a little more than we wanted to, but in the end we purchased a 2010 Corolla with less than 5,000 miles on it, so it still had the 3 years, 36,000 mile warranty. They were so busy that Friday night, I had to wait 2 hours before the Finance guy was available to complete the sales transaction with me. Finally, got out of there at 8pm and was totally exhausted and hungry. Had been there since 3pm that day. All in all, had a pretty pleasant experience, probably because Newton was so great and helpful. Thank you so much!

I purchased a 2008 Certified Scion tC. Originally I was offered only $500 for my trade which was unacceptable. The Salesman went in and talked to the Sales Manager. They both came out and offered me a very reasonable amount for my trade plus top tier financing which I probably would not have qualified for ordinarily. So Kudos for getting me a good deal. Perhaps the only issue I have is that I was under the impression that in order for the vehicle to be "Certified", everything on the checklist had to pass. I made the mistake once of calling it a used car and was immediately corrected "But sir, this isn't a used car, it's a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED car (Add as many exclamation points as you want.)." I pointed out in the light of day (buyer beware when purchasing a car at night), that there were, what I thought, to be a great many more scratches and chips then to be expected. In addition, the headliner inside by the sunroof was cracked. This is noted on the checklist but was never corrected. The exterior was noted as having "repairs such as dents, dings, paint scratches, bumpers, glass, and interior items completed." When I pointed this out, I was advised "Well, it is, after all, a USED CAR." Seems like it's a certified pre-owned car when you are in the showroom, but a used car in the service department. Needless to say, the headliner will remain cracked and the paint chips and scratches will have to stay until I can retouch them. Wonder if that would have been different had I pointed it out prior to taking the car? I did, have a good experience with service. The first week I owned it, the rear hatch garnish quite literally fell off in my hands. The process to have it replaced was hassle free and fast. Unfortunately, I am going to have to go back and visit again. The brakes have developed an awful squealing sound. A certified vehicle is supposed to have at least 50% brake pad remaining. On the whole, I love the car, the sales experience was good. One caution, buy your certified car in the daylight and inspect it closely compared to the checklist.

Really good. All are very nice and helpful. Salesperson negotiated lot to his higher officials and decreased more from the original rate.

Unbelievably rude pushy salesman. Afrer runs my credit saying that the agreement price is impossible due the saleman mistake. The saleman name "Z" is unbelievably lier..... wasting my time. The manager fool me around...come out the price higher than every time i turn around...Crazy...

During the recent Promotion Period, I came in the Toyota of San Diego office. They show me my ticket matches the winning number for one of the prizes right on the board. People in the surrounding looked at me when the representative announces the prize. I, then, submitted my ticket and they took my driver??s licensed information and said they will mail the prize home in a week. But it was never been delivered. When I called them back they told me that I won the prize that is much lesser valued than the one that I was initially been told, even that did not delivered. They did not give me any reason or any explanation at all. I know that Toyota has been under fire for all those recall recently, but this false promise and advisement was unethical. This is not the way to gain customer confidence back. I have been their long time customer. But this is how they lied and tricked their customer. This how they want to represent their company, not honorable. I rather that they did not have this false promotion at all than being lied to. I am very disappointed in their business. After this situation, I never want to come back to their place ever AGAIN!!!

k you for your comments regarding your last service visit at our dealership. As the Customer Relations Manager for Toyota San Diego, I am always looking for feedback so that we may provide our customers with an excellent experience and areas we can improve it in the future.
I am sorry to hear you were unhappy with some of our service personnel. They are in no way trained to question a customer's integrity or honesty. But alas, they are trained to make certain all precautions are taken so that no one can pose as the vehicle owner and receive items such as keys for vehicles. Further, our personnel make inquiries to find the most effecent economic options for our customers. I apologize for our personnel not making this clear to you that it is for our customer's saftey and economics that we do this. We have since reiterated with our service personnel the importance of making this clear with our customers.
I am hoping in the future you will give us an opportunity to do a better job for you. We at Toyota value and appreciate our customers and want to please them.
Sincerely,
Cindy Henderson

I needed to have my Tacoma's key cylinders replaced because they were grinding down my keys (which caused them to get stuck in the ignition which was very unfun!). I needed Toyota parts so I went to Toyota of San Diego and had every single person who helped question my intentions about "why I was changing my locks". Even though I had a VERY valid reason for getting them changed, I felt like my motives were being questioned and I even had one person say "are you trying to keep someone out"? Since I am the registered owner and more than enough ID to prove it, I felt that it was inappropriate for me to questioned in this respect by numerous personnel.

A couple of years ago, the new service center opened here. I'm glad because I had been going to Kearny Mesa, who was giving me estimates to fix things that weren't even broken. The waiting area is nice. When you take your car in for an oil change, they give you a free coffee or bottle of water and have a kiosk with decent snacks. So far, they have been honest as compared to the other dealership.

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM TOYOTA OF SAN DIEGO.... ESPICALLY FROM EDUARDO WHO WORKS THERE.... UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING LIED TO AND HAVE YOUR TIME WASTED!!!
As far as the sales division of this place goes... I have to agree with everyone below and say this place is horrible. I was lied to. Hours and hours of my time were wasted before I just walked right out. Not to mention, the car I was purchasing was sold to someone who came hours after I had already started the paperwork on a specific car. It was a pretty incredible story. If you have time to read please do... If not know that these lying scumbags are sneaky and will say anything to get you to stay. Even lie about interest rates telling me it was a 2.9 when actually the best they could do was a 6.9. So here is my story:
I walk on the lot where I purchased my current 06 Toyota Prius in hopes of upgrading to the new model. I was approached by Eduardo who showed me inside of the new Prius. Then he proceeded to tell me about the great promotion of 2.9% interest on the new Prius (Which doesn't exist!!) I am pretty impressed and think how that could create a lower car payment for me. I leave and let him know I wanted to think about it only to return less than an hour later to purchase the car.
Side note :( On my test drive Eduardo answered about 2-3 personal phone calls, not to mention him reaching across and honking the horn about 5 times when he saw his buddy walking down the street. VERY PROFESSIONAL)
After driving the car it was time for the paperwork which took over an hour to get the simple application filled out because this sales guy wouldn't stop talking about everything under the sun and was incapable of typing a sentence without making 10 errors. Meanwhile I notice other clients leave on a test drive in the car I AM BUYING! Eduardo tells me it??s not a big deal and I was there first so they couldn't purchase the car.
Long story short, He LIED to me the whole time about the APR. It actually had a 6.9% APR. I couldn't believe it. He was acting like this wasn't a big difference. What the ****! I'm not sure who they thought they were dealing with but I'm no idiot and not about to be taken a fool like they probably get some other people.
Meanwhile I'm arguing over the APR this guy lied to me about with the finance manager Tam and I see them removing the sticker from the car I??m buying. Turns out the people who came an hour after me bought the same car I was buying. How the hell does something like that happen (Especially after me asking Eduardo 3 times about them looking at the car).
Basically, I was lied to so they could try and take advantage of me with a high interest rate. Then I had a car sold right out from under me. I have never heard of such a thing. I am a very loyal customer and Toyota of San Diego has officially lost one good one. Not to mention, as many people as I can stop from purchasing from this place. Never did they try and make it right. The following day I spoke to the sales manager Jeff about the whole thing. He told me he would call me back and let me know what they could do for me. So far, no call back. Typical of a sleazy operation. I work in sales and if there is one thing I know it is do whatever you can to keep every single customer. Especially loyal customers who have purchased from me before! They did nothing! This place is a joke. You don't expect much purchasing a car from a "budget" brand.... but come on!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT TOYOTA OF SAN DIEGO!

Pros: ?
Cons: EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE!
I took my Toyota tundra here to get the dent fixed that Kearny Mesa Toyota couldn't fix. The staff there was great. They informed me of the amount time it would take them to fix my truck. It was done earlier than they said and it was done right the first time. I would recommend them to anyone who owns a Toyota and needs body work done.

I stopped by to see their used car inventory but they didn't have the model I was looking for. So I left my contact info and left. A week later I started getting twice daily calls from a salesman and finally agreed to make an appointment. When I got there he had the model I was looking for but made me wait an hour before finally making me an offer (his sales price as well as my trade-in value). During the time he was supposedly 'working the numbers' I actually caught him on the phone making more sales calls, i.e., he was intentionally making me wait.
Here's the really amazing part: When I said "no thanks" to his offer and tried to leave, he wouldn't let me?! He still had my car keys from when he'd inspected it for trade-in, and for the next several minutes he repeatedly ignored my polite requests for the keys. I finally had to resort to shouting at him, making a scene in front of the other customers.
Needless to say, I would never do business with them, both because of their incredibly unprofessional hard-sell tactics and because they totally refused to negotiate the price of their (over-priced) used cars.

I do not know much about cars but I own a 2004 Scion xA and WAS taking it to Toyota San Diego for service until I comparison shopped and realized they overcharge WAY too much for thier services and also try and charge you for items not recommended by your owner's manual for upkeep. Also, I have a Platinum Extended warranty out to 100,000 miles. A piece of my door FELL OFF and Toyota San DIego wants $92 just to take my door panel off and see which peice fell off. I called Mossy Toyota in PB and they offerred to do it for $45 and agreed UP FRONT to waive the fee if the part was covered by my warranty. When I asked TSD if they would refund the $92 if this was a warranty items they could not give me a straight answer. DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. Especially if you are a woman, the service staff are all men and make you feel little and stupid, one staff member I particularily disliked goes by the name of Q HOLT.

Our car has gone in a few times and each time the car look as good as new. i like the friendly service, the good work, and most of all the reliabilty of the car and the repair. everything is done with ease and is at a fair price. i'd recommend comming here.
5Customer service in the body shop is A+. They listen to you and understand your needs, and make every effort to complete the work and return your car on your timetable.
PROS: Excellent customer service
CONS: Just plain expensive to have body work done
