I used to LOVE this place. In fact, I've eaten there with tons of friends and dates and taken out-of-towners as well. The asparagus was to die for, and so were many other things, including the luscious seafood paella. But notice I said

Pros: Example: best croissants in town
Cons: What are the drawbacks?
This place is awesome! The one star people should stay home and cook their perfect tapas themselves...or go to Spain and complain about those tapas. Sometimes it's not the staff...it's you.\r

Pros: The food is scrumptious and you can bring your own wine with no corkage fee
Cons: you have to valet, but not a big deal
We had a great meal here and would definitely go back. They had traditional Spanish tapas as well as some trendy creations. (Think AOC: Spain edition.) It's all tapas (appetizers), so you just start ordering plates for the table and take

Pros: quality of the food
Cons: not for the claustrophobic or hard of hearing
I was so disappointed by the food. The vegetable paella, was more like the Trader Joes frozen mushroom risotto (although inferior) rather than a paella. The tuna dish probably involved taking tuna out of a can and putting it into a little

Pros: Good variety
I was there 11/ 21/08 with a party of 4. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. I love the small wood burning stove at the back of the dining room where one of the chefs is working; it is a lovely thing to look at while

First of all, I love the atmosphere!! Sure, it's a little tight, but if you've ever experienced the European cafes after which they modeled their setting, you'll enjoy Cobras. The service is excellent! Everyone was polite and we were

I won't criticize the food or the decor. I think the food is reasonable, but over priced. The decor is the right idea for what they want to create, but it could be less cramped. There's a difference between cozy and uncomfortable. If

Pros: Good idea, nice interesting place to try.
Cons: Horrible service, rude ownership.
Whether C&M is Spanish or Latin I couldn't care less. The food itself is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. Everything we tried was excellent, but the aged goat cheese with baked grapes and the cured pork tenderloin on

Pros: Small plates so lots to try
Cons: Make reservations WAY in advance.
This is one of the few BYOBs in LA. It's very small and a little cramped (the bathroom is basically in the kitchen!). The menu is great and so is the service. We ended up getting too much food, even though it's a "small plates" restaurant. We got bacon wrapped prawns, sweet potato fries, crab cakes, flat bread...all very good. We made a reservation but still had to wait a bit for our table.

I don't know what all the hype is about. The food is decent. Its not even traditional Spanish food. It's a mix of "Latin tapas" not European Spanish. If you've ever been to Spain you would know that C&M is a Latin style tapas "inspired"

Cobras on Beverly is now open for lunch! They haven't advertised it yet, but I was actually excited about it since I live in the area. They re-did the inside a bit, just changed colors so it's more day-friendly (was pretty dark before).

Since it's close to my house, this used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but the last two times I've been there, it's been very disappointing.
Although we had reservations for 9pm, and showed up 5 minutes early, we still waited over 45 minutes for our table. The waiter was quick to come to the table, open our wine and get an order for our first tapas. But it then took at least 15 minutes for 1 plate of tapas to get to the table. The other 2 plates came seperately a 5-10 minutes later. The lentils with ham had the usual crunchy texture that we love, but seemed overly sweet (too much vinegar?). The cheese plate was fine, and the goat cheese pizza was also good, though obviously cut haphazardly.
After waving down the waiter (he never checked back with us), we ordered some sweet potato fries, and a spanish tortilla. After another 20 minutes, ( the restaurant was now mostly empty), we had to ask where they were. The fries were good, as always, and home made mayonnaise they are served with is outstanding, but the Spanish tortilla was the worst I've ever had in my life! It was a circle of scrambled egg that appeared to have dried under a heat lamp. There was a thin rubbery slice of potato on top of that, and something slimy over the potato. I couldn't figure out if it was cheese or uncooked egg. It was horrible.
To say the least, this is no longer my favorite place, in fact, I don't expect to go back.

This is a wonderful tapas restaurant. For those of you who don't know what "tapas" is. Tapas is term coined by Spain. It is basically an array of appetizer-type dishes but more elegant and tastier than your usual American appetizers. This place is so great for groups, dates, or just hanging with the family. Very trendy looking inside, and well it. Great wine list, and the food is full of sabor.
