Read my review in chow hound. I hate to give one star but I feel like in this case it is really needed. I have been to this place well over a hundred times and fully enjoyed myself dining with friends and having lunch meetings. The service has always been the best and still is. With that said, I noticed the quality of the food has gone down, there's no thought to the dishes, it's just blah. I don't know what has changed. Did they get a new chef? A new manager? I'm not sure but what I am sure about is that restaurant basics were missing. No salt and pepper shakers at the table? It's not just my table but all the tables didn't have them. I had to ask the waiter-it's like having to ask for utensils or a napkin at a restaurant. ?I also noticed the lively vibe of the place missing. The dining room use to be busy and so did the bar but now it seems like the place is taking a dive. God I really hope not, I've met the owner before and he was really sweet with me and my friends- he sat us down and even got our order for drinks. Overall my last experience was embarassing becase I was with fellow foodies. If not for the attentive servers the whole experience would have been worse. I would encourage management to step it up, get a consultant and turn this classic back into what it use to be. Focus your menu a little more and don't raise your prices - this will be the kiss of death for a restaurant in this economy.

I stopped in Mirabelle after work around 6:45pm. I know they have a late night happy hour until 8pm. I took a look at the Happy Hour menu and ordered the cucumber martini and a bite to eat. Before making the drink, the bartender asked if it was o.k. to ring another drink on my tab and run my card as she was taking off shortly. I must say, I was taken aback. How rude. I asked if the Happy Hour was ending anytime soon, and she said no, that Happy Hour runs til 8pm. Not only did she pull this stunt with me, but solicited stacking an additional drink onto every other patrons bill before she left. Incredibly gaudy; I can only imagine what it is like to work on a shift following hers. She is taking money out of the next bartender's shift, and destroying the suspension of service by trying to squeeze an extra buck out of her clientele. Transparent! Needless to say, I won't be back.

My girlfriend and I stopped by Mirabelle's for a little discount happy hour drinking, with some eats to go along with it. While the prices were right, the thing that stood out the most was the exceptional service from our server John. Not only did he accomodate all our needs and wants, he was always checking out to make sure if we needed anything. While most server's can be overbearing, John was subtle in his attentiveness. Never intruding until the right time. Overall, one of the top 3 greatest servers I have ever had at any restaurant anywhere, and I eat out quite a bit. The food was also delectable. It was just a small sampling, seeing as how we were there for some happy hour deals. Those deals were very good. The chicken taco (spicy) was delicious, as well as the happy hour macaroni and cheese. We also had calamari, which was a bit tough, I've had much better in that regard, but overall, the food was very good.

I can't hype the service enough though. That was the joy of the experience. Simply wonderful. Well done John. Well done!!!!!!

I enjoy Steve Martin. I like that he's had white hair for as long as I can remember, and that he's hosted SNL a bajillion times but was never a cast member, and that his last movie was a rom com where he smoked pot and made out with Meryl Streep. However, my favorite thing about Steve Martin is that he wrote "Shopgirl," a novella about a mousy young lady named Mirabelle who falls for a smooth, rich older man, and then cast himself as the smooth, rich older man in the movie adaptation. (Boy was he smooth though, guys. He bought gloves from her and then secretly sent them to her as a gift!) Jason Schwartzman was also in the movie, which is notable only because everything Jason Schwartzman-related is notable.

Mirabelle the restaurant is totally the kind of place that Mirabelle the character would dine at with smooth, rich older men. It's managed to retained its stuffy fancypants-ness in a hip part of the Sunset Strip. Since I was there for lunch with my coworkers, I ordered a turkey burger with fries. The turkey part was kind of dry, but that's how turkeys are designed and that's how I like my burgers. That way it doesn't get soggy when I eat the other half for dinner as a side dish to my three mini dinner cupcakes. If I was there with a rich, older Steve Martin-type of man I probably would order something classier, like white wine and a complex salad. The restaurant is also nice for this sort of situation because it's kind of sunken in below the level of the sidewalk, so you feel like a sort of mole creature peering up, and it's good for discrete situations in case your friends walk by and you don't want them to see that you're out with a man old enough to be your father, or an ex-con, etc.

I work pretty close to Mirabelle so I often make it a lunch destination. Flavor is king, of course, and I'll get to that in a second but I also like Mirabelle for their atmosphere. It's never too busy at lunch and we love to sit in their enclosed patio. When it comes to food I'd highly recommend love their Braised Rib Sandwich for my meat lovers and my fish lovers should get the Baked Salmon Salad. Nom nom!

Choosing Mirabelle for lunch was a spur of the moment decision. A coworker and friend of mine and I decided to go somewhere nice for our meal, since it was a gorgeous Friday afternoon and we really did not want to go to boring Subway yet again. We surveyed the lunch menu that included salads like a classic Caesar, a chopped salad, a salmon salad, sandwiches, wraps, and pastas. One of the kind popped out from the restaurant after a few minutes, very warmly greeted us and told us the specials. My friend was lured in by the delicious tune of chicken quesadilla and kobe burger on the lunch specials and I agreed. We were treated with the kindest and most prompt service imaginable. My friend ordered the chicken quesadilla special while I ordered the veggie sandwich that is on the regular menu. We received a basket full of warm slices of fresh bread, a cold dish of butter, and another dish of olive tapenade. The second I tasted all three in combination, my mouth nearly exploded from delight. If the bread and appetizer were this good, I couldn?t even imagine how good the actual meal would be! And I was surprised at how quickly the food came out. My friend and I happily chomped away at our meals, her chicken quesadilla, my veggie sandwich. The bread on my sandwich was pillow-soft and the grilled vegetables added rich texture while the pesto sauce accentuated the flavors of the vegetables. My friend said that the quesadilla was great, as well, and indeed, it looked quite stuffed with plenty of cheese, chicken, and a healthy amount of guacamole and sour cream on the side. All the while, we had attentive and caring servers rounding out the entire amazing and delicious experience.

The pros and cons say it all. The chopped salad is my favorite in the city- get it with the chicken, love it for the blue cheese and candied walnuts. When I am feeling particularly starving, I add in a side of hummus, almonds and pita. I rarely stray from these favorites. When a meal satisfies a craving again and again, it has to be quality.

The ambiance is a bit dark, but a pleasant respite from the hubbub of Sunset.

If you get the chopped salad to go, make sure to ask for a healthy sized portion, otherwise it is fit for a size 0 and really aren't we all Kings?

This place is close to our offices and has become a regular lunch spot for my coworkers. They always seem to have an awesome selection of lunch specials during the week, and the portion size is enough to share.

Our favorites include the crab bisque, chicken dijon sandwich, sweet potato fries and the burger. Great service and friendly wait staff make this a great place to grab lunch during the week!

Check out the review of this and many other happy hours at: happiest hours(dot)blog spot(dot)com - no spaces between words, but City Search won't allow it any other way. We loved the interior of this open, airy place, and the service was incredible - fast, friendly, seemed happy to be working there. Unfortunately, because it is also sort of open air, a few parties were smoking (which ruins any space in which I'm trying to enjoy good food). We had two martinis (one Greek and one watermelon) which were GREAT, calamari, hummus, the cheese plate, and they brought out bread, butter and tapenade, and for two of us it was $30 plus tip, so we left forty. The calamari was so-so, but the hummus and cheese plate were both very good. Here's the problem - the prices on the drinks are very good, but the appetizers were barely discounted from the regular menu. Still, we left sated and happy for twenty bucks each, so can't complain. Worth checking out. We'll probably return soon.

i used to crave the salmon salad at mirabelle as did my coworkers and friends... I know at least 10 people who would order it at least once a week. the combination of flavors was unique (and divine!) with the vinagrette, fava beans, sweet corn and perfectly grilled salmon... in the last month or two the chef has changed the recipe. he or she swapped out the fava beans for green beans and tomatoes and the lovely light vinagrette for a heavy mayonnaise based goop. I can't express how disappointed i am in the NEW salmon salad. Please bring back the old one, mirabelle!!! there is simply nothing that compares....

This is one Sunset Strip restaurant that hasn't disappointed me. I've only gone once for lunch, but I loved the chicken wrap (with avocado! and bacon!). I definitely recommend the sweet potato fries for a side - they're much tastier than French fries and I've been told that they're healthier for you anyway. The decor is elegant and fun at the same time, and the service is fantastic - they really want to make sure that you enjoy your meal. The food took a while, but the complimentary bread and tapenade were definitely enough to hold me over.

Most of the restaurants on/near Sunset Plaza are bad, but Mirabelle is like a 1/2 step to MAYBE a full step above the rest. What i really like is its quasi-subterranean location - the covered patio/bar is great for lunch and the indoor area to the left is more like a regular restuarant experience. The ahi tartare is pretty good but what I really like more than anything is the complimentary tapenade they serve w/the bread -- sooo yummy! I could just walk in, order a drink and have that as my meal and i'd be all set.

So Brit's new favorite stop-over on the Sunset Strip serves some fine food but it's nothing to write home about. The daily lunch menu is good for occasional dining but the value is too average for the cost of the meal. The service is great however. Good for large groups (large being like 8-10).

When I stopped into Mirabelle today, I had an overall enjoyable experience. The "feel" of the restaurant is very nice, and relaxing. I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese, which was a very nice pasta dish with a slight spicy flavor to it, and my father ordered the French Onion soup and Crab Cake, both of which I tasted and both were very good. The only thing that wouldn't make this restaurant 5-stars is because of the slow service, although we were one of the few that were dining there at that time. Also there were some flies persistently flying around the two of us and our food, which is to be expected with a place with outdoor dining that is not closed off from the indoors.

I went here with my parents. They are extremely well traveled foodies who only eat at the best restaurants. Whenever they come into town I have a panic attack picking out a restaurant. I wasn't going to go there because I was afraid this was more a of a lunch place. Boy was I wrong! We sat on the patio which was beautiful and relaxed. My mom and I had the raspberry mojitos which were very yummy (if you read my other posts you'll see I LOVE mojitios and have them everywhere I go.) The tapenade/tabbouleh they serve with the bread was great. We started with the short ribs appetizer... oh my goss the flavor was out of this world. I had the pumpkin seed salmon, my dad had the mussels, both were amazing. And we finished with souffle. I love souffle and this was some of the best. Anyways, definitely go here with no worries, we loved everything we had and can't wait to go back!

I had a pretty good lunch here the other day. The restaurant had a variety of pastas and sandwiches, and even wraps-- which is what I ordered. I was surprised by the huge amount of food, which I could not finish. The service was kind a little slower that I would have expected. I would have thought that we would get our food much quicker since it was lunchtime and there weren't many people, but I was wrong. The food was tasty enough to make me forget about the wait, however, so I might go back.

Pros: familiar, tasty food

Cons: slow service

My boss treated me for lunch here one day, and I was always curious of eating here because I passed by it everyday on the way to work. The wicker chairs and plants definitely give it a garden feel, and I loved the patio seating that looks out into the streets of Sunset Blvd. I ordered the salmon dish which was cooked perfectly with the right amount of flavor...

Was visiting LA for the first time and went to have dinner with a friend. Headed toward Santa Monica. An hour driving later at 11pm and we are still at a loss. Last-minute phone recommendation from a friend led us to Mirabelle's. Found it cozy and relaxing, with a nice ramshackle wood interior and low lights. Pro service from a waiter with a southern accent, prices aren't cheap but neither are they unreasonable... pasta bolognese and tuna steak were simple, solid, and well executed. Good place to go if you have $60 to spend for two. Glad to have found this spot. Cheers.

Mirabelle is next door to my office so it tends to be "the place" for a business lunch. For a long time I felt the prices were high and the value low. However, they have recently adjusted their lunch menu to include a section called 10 Lunches for $10. As you can imagine, it features salads, sandwiches, and burgers for the low price of $10 with a side. An appetizer of bread and an olive tampenade is always available.

great appetizers and entrees, but the service was painstakingly slow. easy to make reservations and convenient valet parking, plus a great location on the strip!

I was able to make reservations same-day for a party of 12. There was easy valet parking in the back. It was a cozy atmosphere and comfy large table. Service was a little slow, but the food was excellent. I had the Filet Mignon, which was very tender. Everyone else loved everything!

The best thing about Mirabelle is the 10-for-$10 lunch menu. Basically, 10 interesting choices for lunch specials that are $10 each. Not bad for Sunset Strip -- the competitors up the street on the Plaza charge twice as much for food that usually isn't even as good. The downer is that the service is not fast enough to eat in a one-hour lunch period; they have a more "continental" attitude of not rushing you, but as a work-lunch spot that makes it just a tad on the slow side.

Mirabelle is a gem, plain and simple. If you are tired of restaurants charging $24 for jellied cucumber, creme freche, and a bite of fish in a shot glass then this restaurant is the perfect retreat. The dishes here range from very good to superb. The eight hour braised short ribs, filet mignon with butter poached lobster tail, tuna tartare, bacon wrapped figs stuffed with chorizo, and flank steak are among the best dishes I've had in LA. The bar is a great meeting spot but be forewarned that smoking is allowed out there becuase the roof can be opened. The $7 happy hour menu (from 4-7pm daily) is a steal.

Pros: Every Dish is Great, $7 Happy Hour Plates, No weird creations

Cons: , Sunset Blvd is Noisy

They have smoked salmon, ahi tuna sandwich and a large, tasty burger along with several other selections for $10 on the lunch menu. Considering where its located on Sunset and the atmosphere, you might expect to pay more. Cobb salad is also very good and large enough to almost guarantee you are the last one to finish. Everything I have ever ordered has been fresh and flavorful.

I have also seen some celebs here after the normal lunch hour.

I work in the area and went here for a business lunch. The food is good and they have an interesting menu from which to choose. I had the lemonade (quite tart, a plus!) and the Cobb salad (nice portion and yummy). Unfortunately, the service was abysmal. It took forever to get menus, refills on drinks, and our food. That would be fine if the place was packed and the server apologized for the delay, but that was not the case. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, and will likely give them one more chance, but the service must improve.

Our meals were tasty and beautiful. We were alittle cold on the front patio and the service could have been more attentive. I will go back and give it another try because the food was fabulous.

All I can say is amazing. The food, service, decor, people, atmosphere, etc. They have it all!!! In the come and go of Hollywood restaurants, it's great to see both the management and the patrons have gotten this one right. I have eaten here over 100 times, and have never left disappointed. No exaggeration at all, never once have I ever wished for a different experience.

Overall, Hollywood owes Mirabelle a standing ovation!!!! Congratulations to the Germanides family!!!!

Visited recently and had a nice night. Great looking place with a nice vibe. Food was good, not outstanding but enjoyable. Seafood based, though they do have some meat dishes as well. I had the mussels with chorizo and some sweet potato fries which were fantastic.

It was a little crowded, therefore a bit loud the night we were there. But, that almost seemed to be part of the ambience. It's not really the quiet, romantic type of a place. Has much more of a nightclub feel.

Overall, worth the visit.
