Went there with a fairly large group. I ordered a caesar salad which came with way too much dressing, and one of their "specials", a ribeye steak with "spicy korean sauce". Yeah, I should have known better.
The sauce tasted like someone mixed tabasco and plum sauce and it the steak was literally drenched in it. The steak itself was not cooked the way I ordered it; It was, to quote Tarantino, bloody as hell, and I had ordered medium rare. This would not have been a huge deal if it was actually a decent steak, but it was mostly gristle and fat. I was raised not to waste food so I choked about half of it down before I couldn't eat any more. Luckily the caesar salad and bread had mostly filled me up. Instead of the mashed poatoes that were promised, the dish was served with a small scoop of rice (with an inexplicable sprig of rosemary in the middle) and exactly five shriveled green beans. (one more than the person to my right, who only got four. Score!)
Service was fairly slow, I had to ask for more water. If I hadn't been with work colleagues, I would definitely have sent the steak back and probably had a word or two with the manager about the quality of the meat.

Fat City had a good location on a corner. The window seating gives a bird's eye view of life going on outside which was fun. It may have been on 'off' night with the food when we went - I'm not planning on going back there. Prices are med high, however, for the money, the food didn't rate well. Presentation was acceptable but plate's intrigue quickly passed after taking a few bites.
Disappointing.

Fat city has a nice look about it and was very inviting. The drinks were pricey but overall the price was decent. We waited an hour to get our food because of a shortage in staff in the kitchen. The food was very good except they messed it

Pros: food
Cons: service and parking
The atmosphere was peaceful. The place had high-end decor. Our server was very knowledgable in regards to the food menu, but seemed to be an expert on the wine list as well.
The pricing was decent, not too expensive, but not cheap either. Worth the money.
Overall, I recommend it.

I have been to this place over several years and the food only gets better. I have been with small and large groups. The service is commendable and the wine is superb.
4The food is decent. The atmosphere is fun. Unfortunatly the old building smells rather strange. The staff is friendly. They have a full bar. I will not be going back because of the smell, but it really did not have anything to do with the food. I am not sure if that is a good thing.

The Fat City Bar and Grill's ambience is great, in this classic building with stained glass and high ceilings. Our server and service overall was excellent. The food is contemporary American fare with just average quality. Nothing is

Cons: Food, Value
This is one of the legendary Fat Family restaurants. It's got a hokey wild west decor, but a fun menu of California Cousine and basic favorites. It blends well with the tourist atmosphere of Old Sacramento. You might find the dining room a bit noisy and crowded, though. Good service, good pricing, and the Fats never let you down on the food.

This is one of the best restaurants created by the Frank Fats Legacy. European charm, wonderful service, and great food.
Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it.
